You Knew It Was Coming

And here it is!  How could Green Eagle Resist?

Yes, it's the Special Birth Certificate Edition of Wingnut Wrapup!  So, now that President Obama has made total fools of Orly Taitz, Joseph Farah, Donald Trump and the majority of the Republican party that claims to believe Obama was born in Kenya, rather than  be forced to recognize a black president, what do you think their response is?  Well, you don't have to wonder, because Green Eagle is about to bring you the evidence!  Isn't that kind of him?

Let's kick this off with the most spectacular sample of right wing reaction you are ever going to see, Orly Taitz' appearance on Lawrence O' Donnell's show yesterday.  Believe me, this is spectacular- don't miss it:

Wasn't that fun?  Now, on to the rest- all collected within ten hours of Obama's release of his birth certificate:

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "Hillary Clinton Wins. Obama Proves He Wasn’t Immaculated."

Oh, so the whole thing is about whether he was divinely conceived, Erick.  I never caught that part.  May I remind you that Erick  appears regularly on CNN, the nation's Most Trusted News Source.  Good choice, guys.

Melissa Clouthier, Red State:  "President Obama coughed up his birth certificate today. So, the question is: How is this good for Obama?  It has been my view that the “birther” issue turned bad for President Obama some time before the latest round in the press brought the issue to a head. When people start to dislike you, though, they’ll believe every spurious and outrageous claim. Why? Because they’re looking for evidence to support their changed  belief."

Oh, I see.  You have spent two years spreading racist lies about Obama because you hate him.  I never would have figured that out on my own.  And here I thought the birther thing was just the deep concern among Republicans for our constitution, which they constantly display in so many other ways, like threatening to secede every time they don't win an election.

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "With Birther Issue Resolved, Trump to Set Sights on China and Taxes"

Now I understand.  Trump just couldn't focus on real issues, because telling lies about Obama was so much more urgent.  Man, would this guy make a great Republican Presidential candidate.

Pam Geller, Atlas Shrugs:  "Obama's New COLB Raises More Questions than it Answers...And so the question is, why release such an obvious forgery?"

Followers of Wingnut Wrapup know that I stopped covering the Shrieking Harpy long ago, because her sick hatred was beyond humor.  But, as she has been working on a minor in birtherism in between her insane anti-Muslim tirades, I had to check in with her.  Well, I won't bother you with a display of her ignorance of Photoshop.  Take it from me, it's pathetic.  However, it is a wonderful opportunity to run this picture of Pammy, which I stole from Charles Johnson:

Pammy in all of her glory

That's painful, huh?  How about this?

Not Pammy, thank heaven.  And not a birther; i.e. much smarter than Pammy.  I have no excuse for running this picture, but it's my blog.  Deal with it.
Well, onward and downward:

Power Line:  "Obama was keeping it out of sight on the theory that it was a distraction to Republicans that made some of them look bad with independents...That's how it looks to me, anyway.  Now we can get back to serious issues"

A common Republican response:  A. The whole thing was a dirty trick by Obama; and B.  Finally we can get back to serious issues, after two years of being forced by Obama to spread racist lies about him.  A noble display of the spirit of taking personal responsibility that Republicans are always talking about.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Critics: Obama’s Latest Long-Form Birth Certificate Is a Fake"

What critics, Jim?  The same "critics" that have been spreading lies about him for two years?  Yeah, pretty much.  Well, thanks for jumping in there with your usual well-meant comments.

Phyllis Schlafly, Gateway Pundit: Well have to have some people analyze the birth certificate. I don’t know what the answer to that is. But I notice that he did call Donald Trump a nasty name."

Yeah, he called him a carnival barker.  What an abomination.

I never noticed that Phyllis showed any concern when her friends called Obama a communist, a Muslim terrorist, a traitor, a Nazi and even Satan himself.  Of course, none of those names are as offensive as a carnival barker. That would be because we all know that Democrats love Nazis, terrorists, etc. so they don't find it nasty when someone calls them that.

Bob Unruh, World Net Daily EXCLUSIVE!  "The "Certificate of Live Birth" document released by the White House today, if authentic, assures Americans that their president was born in Hawaii as he has said, according to two participants in a lawsuit who challenged the president's tenure in the Oval Office.  But they say it also proves he's ineligible under the Constitution's requirements to be president.
According to Mario Apuzzo, the attorney who argued the Kerchner vs. Obama case, and the lead plaintiff, retired Navy Cmdr. Charles Kerchner, the documentation reveals that Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan national subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom, was the father when Barack Obama Jr. was born.

That, they say, would disqualify Obama because of the Founders' requirement in the Constitution that a president be a "natural born Citizen," commonly understood during the era of the beginnings of the United States to mean a citizen offspring of two citizen parents."

That is a lie.  This is just one tiny little fiction concocted by the birthers, in their panic to squirm out of their humiliation.  The notion of what constitutes a "natural born citizen" was not defined by the founding fathers, and has never been adjudicated; and so it has no definite meaning at this point in time.  Whatever it means, it's not about the above.  This jackass continues:

"They are going to have to face the music on this at some point," said Kerchner, whose allegations never were decided on their merits"

Listen, idiot:  These allegations never were decided on their merits because everyone knows that they had no merit.

World Net Daily:  "Hawaii kept birth certificate hidden in vault"

Where do you expect them to have kept it, in a cardboard box on a street corner?  If they didn't protect birth certificates, they wouldn't be there when people needed them.  Is that really too hard for you to figure out?

World Net Daily:  "We distort, you decide...What do you think of Fox News' Shepard Smith declaring Obama is 'a citizen'?"

Will wonders never cease?  Someone on Fox News told the truth?  I'm not sure I'm buying that until I see it myself.

Elwin Tobing, American Thinker:  "Which brings us to the real issue in the saga of Obama's birthplace mystery: character and trust.  Obama's principles and paradigms of thinking, which guide his leadership and policy making, are not independent from his character.  How do you tell a man's character when he is not even willing to reveal his birthplace?"

Except, of course, that he was telling the truth all along.  Think about it, Elwin.  Maybe some day it will make sense to you.

Well, believe me. folks, this is only a small sample of the right wing response to their having, as usual, been revealed to be a bunch of coscienceless, vicious racists.  At least, we can get a good laugh out of this nonsense, without having to worry about whether it is going to destroy our country.

Why should we give any credence to lunatics? The birthers are lunatics. There is no other word to describe them.

Birtherism is a new article of Faith for the Right, a relgion with schisms and chants...

Are you Birther, my conservative brother? Do you deny Obama and accept the Holy Soviet Orly Taitz? Do you remember the Pamela Gellar Nirth* Certificate screed?

*- For those unaware of Gellar a few years back she had a whole blog post about Obama Nirth (actual typo) Certificate up...

They are lunatics but they make up half of the Republican party. Sad to say, credible or not, they have the power to do a hell of a lot of damage.

I'm serious when I say I'd like to see an animated TV show for adults with a super hero in the form of a green eagle who is bold and fearless (yet modest) and does all of the things that this green eagle does so well.
Thank you for another fine post.
It's been a while since I left a comment so I'm leaving a comment so you don't think I've abandoned you GE.

Truth,

Thanks. I think all of us have been a little beaten down by the mindless way that the right wing steamroller plunges on despite the obvious consequences. I have seen a number of my favorite bloggers cut back significantly in their posting lately, and I think they just feel helpless, as I am afraid I do too at times. Well, I guess that is the advantage that parrots have over people- eventually instinct takes over and they just go on with their behavior.

And thanks so much, anonymous, although I'm not sure which green superhero you are talking about, since I've never been able to reconcile the notion of modesty with Green Eagle. Maybe he has a twin out there somewhere.

I loved the picture of the dog......
but I found the picture of the crazy woman above it to be so disturbing I had to look away.

Flavor,

That is not just A dog. That is Sutter Brown, the First Dog of the State of California, who is charged with keeping the likes of Pam Atlas out of our State. And he's doing a good job, too. You can see his owner, Jerry Brown, standing behind him.
