Funny, No One is Suggesting Budget Cuts Here

Some depressing news from Salon:

"Liberty University, the evangelical private Christian school founded by dead apartheid-supporting bigot Jerry Falwell, received $445 million in federal financial aid last year. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, by the way, received $420 million from the federal government."

Food stamps, no.  Nauseating, vicious right wing lies, yes.  Did any Democrat, during the course of the party's latest budget collapse, draw their own line in the sand, and state openly that they would not vote for any budget bill that included a penny for this evil institution?  I guess Republicans are allowed to pretend they are acting on some kind of principles (even though we all know they are a pack of corrupt criminals who don't give a damn about right and wrong) but Democrats have given up on the principle thing altogether.  Obama's Democratic party seems to be operating on the basis of "vote for me- see, I don't believe in anything."

And to turn out pro-segregation and pro-lunacy lawyers for the Republicans to put in the Justice department the next time we have a Republican president.

Today is the 156th anniversary of Lee's surrender at Appomattox - but these lunatics continue to celebrate the Confederacy and promote policies even Lee would fight against.

Sorry - 146th anniversary - typo.

So, why don't the democrats ever brings things like this up? Why don't the democrats stop the protrayal of Planned Parenthood as nothing more than an abortion clinic when in fact it seems to be more of a women's cancer clinic...

I don't get it....

I don't either. I wish I could chalk it up to sheer self interest, but we all know that Obama and the Democrats would be up around 70% popularity now if they had stood up to the rich, done something about the deliberate destruction of the economy, extended medicare to all, pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan, punished torturers and just generally did the right thing. It's pretty sad.
