Wingnut Wrapup

Someone must have put something in their pop-tarts this morning.  They're really up in arms:

World Net Daily:  "Obama's urgent treaty push called 'contempt of Congress'   Analysts fear START doc holds something prez wants concealed"

Called contempt by whom?  Why, World Net Daily's founder, Joseph Farah, of course.  And by the way, the text of the treaty has been available for eight months, so if Obama wants something concealed, he must have written it in really little letters.

Joseph Farah, World Net Daily:  "Time to quit the U.S. military...As much as I respect and admire the U.S. military as an institution, I would find myself actively encouraging men and women to leave – in droves."

Better to leave the United States helpless against foreign attack than have gays in the military.  Boy, these conservatives are so patriotic and so dedicated to defending our country.

Farah continues with his sick ravings:

"After all, this is simply a plan being orchestrated by a regime that loathes the military and seeks to destroy it."

What, you mean destroy it, like, by sending it to fight in a useless war of aggression, squandering its resources and killing its soldiers for no decent purpose whatever?  That kind of destroying the military?  Yeah, now that you mention it, Joseph, I seem to remember that happening not too long ago.  Whoever would do a thing like that must really loathe the military, that's for sure.   Damn that Obama.  Or was it Clinton?  I can't quite remember.

Victoria Jackson, World Net Daily:  "Liberals want to poison water to prevent life. Conservatives want to pour out Living Water to propagate eternal life. Why would I want to be a liberal?!"

Huh?

World Net Daily Exclusive:  "Senator says Dems pushing 'every kind of liberal agenda'

That's their job. Deal with it.  By the way, I only wish it were true.

Bonnie Alba, Renew America:  "This is the annual season of Anti-Christmas sentiment. The naysayers feel they shouldn't have to put up with this traditional nonsense, so they intimidate by threatening law suits"

Bonnie describes herself as a "politically incorrect researcher-writer."  I think "factually incorrect" might be more to the point.

Jerome Corsi, World Net Daily:  "Obama quietly erasing borders...Dem administration advancing 'North American Union' agenda"

Well, in all fairness, the Republicans are erasing borders too.  The borders between reality and paranoid delusion.  Of course, this is the same Jerome Corsi who claimed that the highly decorated war hero John Kerry was a coward, while the deserter Bush was a hero.

Sher Zieve, Renew America:  "The new omnibus spending bill now being proposed as the last "shove it down their unthankful throats and choke 'em to death" thrown together and not read by the Marxist/Leninist Democrat leaders, is designed to destroy the rest of life as we had known it in the USA...The new American Revolution looms closer every day. People can only take tyranny for so long before screaming NO MORE and acting upon it. Do you now hear the people sing Congress and Obama? Do you?"

Actually, I don't even know the tune to "Congress and Obama," so I don't know if people are singing it.  By any chance is that the flip side of "let the eagle soar?"

Sher, you really have to get a grip on yourself.

Keith Riler, American Thinker:  "As tempting as it is to view the machinations of the left in masterfully calculated Dr. Evil terms, today's progressive is better-understood as a ranting teenager."

Well, that's not so bad.  You guys are better understood as a three year old screaming for more cookies.

Thomas Lifson, American Thinker:  "A royal snub for the Obamas...Michelle Obama may be ruing the day Barry sent back the bust of Winston Churchill. The Obamas are not being invited to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton"

Well, first of all, the Churchill bust thing never happened.  It's just one more malicious myth from the right.  And second, I don't think Obama is going to waste too much time worrying about not being invited to a wedding, since if he did go, the right would attack his "elitism" for months.

Now, today's medal for maturity in foreign policy:

Astute Bloggers:  "BOMBING PAKISTAN'S MADRASSAS: WE CALLED FOR IT IN 2005"

And aren't you proud of yourselves?

And finally, a wonderful history lesson, from our friend Henry Makow:

"paralytic polio was a scourge prior to the 1950's (polio vaccine first arrived in 1955) and probably everyone in my generation can remember the March of Dimes campaigns with Eleanor Roosevelt leading the way. Well, today the scourge of "natural paralytic polio" has vanished due to unknown factors...Epidemiological studies show that polio mortality declined by 82% prior to 1956 in England and Wales. The same pattern emerged in France. The vaccine had nothing to do with any of it."

Of course not.  The fact that polio declined by 82% at the same time the vaccine was released means nothing.  Mr. Makow claims that there were mass deaths from the polio vaccine, which were all covered up (as usual.)  The coverup must have been a good one, because there is virtually no record of anyone dying from the polio vaccine.  It will, I am sure, not surprise you that this whole sordid chapter in human history seems, in some way never clearly explained by Mr. Makow, to have something to do with the fact that the inventors of the two major forms of polio virus were Jewish, and therefore it is obvious that the whole thing must be an evil plot to destroy everyone.
