It Figures

As the right wing continues to boil in fury over the made-up, vicious smear it is now calling "Weiniergate," what do you think CNN's reaction was to this completely false, manufactured lie?  Why, of course...today they invited serial liar Andrew Breitbart, who is responsible for spreading it, to come on their network and "explain" to the American people what it is all about. Just get ready.  If you think this is bad, wait until you see what they have in store for Obama and the Democrats in 2012.  They're just draining off our outrage at this point, hoping to exhaust us before they get to the real hate. Update:  I didn't actually hear this segment on CNN.  I have now learned that Breitbart used his appearance to accuse Weiner, without one shred of evidence, of having had multiple affairs with young girls.  His CNN hosts did absolutely nothing to confront him on this blatant, vicious lie.  On the other hand, if a Democrat accuses a Republican of try...

Right Wing Smear Machine Moves Into Operation

Image
Here is an all too typical example of the utter indifference to common decency which characterizes the right in this country.  Consider the following rather distasteful photo: This photo was published by Andrew Breitbart Saturday morning.  He alleged it to be a picture of the penis of Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner, which, Breitbart claimed, had been sent by Weiner via Twitter to a 20 year old college girl in Washington. Now, remember that, though Breitbart has established an extensive record of spreading false, malignant smears against Democrats and pro-Democratic organizations, he is still regarded as an acceptable news source by Fox, CNN and others in the mainstream media. By this morning, two days later, it had been determined that the above photo had neither been sent by Congressman Weiner, nor received by the girl in question.  In other words, it is a blatant forgery, by a well-known forger. Nevertheless, this story was picked up and spread through th...

Not Quite the Worst

In a good, but otherwise unremarkable article in The Guardian, about Republicans' attempts to talk away the fact that the 9-11 attacks happened on their watch, Megan Carpentier makes the following statement: "(Former Bush press secretary Dana) Perino started the re-write of history in November, baldly stating: "We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term." (Mary) Matalin picked up the torch shortly after Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab set his crotch on fire, claiming that Bush "inherited the most tragic attack on our own soil in our nation's history." "The most tragic attack on our own soil in our nation's history?" I don't think so.  I seem to remember one other attack that produced not three thousand deaths, but ultimately caused hundreds of thousands of Americans to lose their lives.  That would be the Confederate attack on Fort Sumter. The racist jerks that make up the Republican party today...

An Unsurprising Story

This: "In Florida, Criminals Pose as Police More Frequently and for More Violent Ends" What's so strange about that?  They have a criminal posing as their governor, and that seems just fine with them.

Mainstream Press- The Collaboration Continues

Image
Here are another couple of stories that illustrate why the American people still trust the Republican party anywhere but in a prison: From our newspaper of record, The New York Times, this perceptive account of Sarah Palin's current bus tour to nowhere: "The bus tour has sparked renewed speculation that Ms. Palin is making plans for a surprise entry into the 2012 Republican presidential race. If she decides to run, the bus tour suggests it will be as a nontraditional candidate who does not play by the usual rules of political campaigns." Perhaps they have forgotten, or more likely, assume the American people have forgotten, this: Yes, John McCain pulled the same stunt just four years ago, but to the New York Times, when Sarah Palin does it, " the bus tour suggests it will be as a nontraditional candidate who does not play by the usual rules of political campaigns."  And it doesn't even bother them that they are lying on behalf of a candidate who ha...

Republicans Have a Plan

The Republican Party, whose favorite slogan is Obama is a Muslim America First, has finally delivered on its campaign promise to focus like a laser beam on jobs, jobs, jobs.  How nice of them.  They have released a multipage report (well, the print is very big) entitled The House Republican Plan For America's Job Creators...Empowering Families, Small Businesses and Enterpreneurs, and let me tell you, in its seriousness as a guide to the future it is fully up to previous Republican efforts along these lines. But let me not speak for them.  Green Eagle has carefully extracted from this document every single sentence that could be regarded as presenting a concrete proposal, and here it is: "In order to ease the regulatory burden on the economy and to promote job creation, we will approve legislation that requires a congressional review and approval of any proposed federal government regulation that will have a significant impact on the economy." I.e. making it essenti...

Will She or Won't She?

I can't believe the idiotic blather swirling around the national media about whether or not Sarah Palin will run for President.  Can these people really be ignorant enough to have any doubts about this question? To state what should be one hundred percent obvious to the most naive American:  this self-serving, avaricious demagogue will run for president if either: A. She thinks she can manipulate the teabagger controlled Republican party into nominating her or B:  She can make a lot of money off of all the free publicity. She will not run if either A: She doesn't think she can get the Republican party to commit mass suicide by nominating her or B: She can't figure out a way to make enough money to justify sullying herself for months with actual interaction with her dupes. I hope this answers the stupid question of whether Sarah Palin intends to run for president.

"Pro Israel"

A statement by a nameless Republican congressman (they're all interchangeable any way) led me to say something that I have been thinking about for a while.  Here's the quote: "[W]here is the outrage from the American Jewish community? Don’t they understand that the president is not pro-Israel?" I see this "not pro-Israel" crap a hundred times a day on the blogs I read for Wingnut Wrapup. Well, here's what I wonder:  Would these people react in equally jingoistic fury if someone was accused of being, say, "not pro-France" or "not pro-Germany?"  After all, France and Germany are just as much our allies as Israel.  In fact, Republicans savaged John Kerry and other Democrats for being too "pro-France" and during the 2008 campaign, they attacked Obama for giving a speech in Germany. Now, let me state as I have before that I have lived in Israel, and am a strong supporter of its existence.  Still, don't we all know that...

Why the Nazis Lost World War II

Idiocy beyond the conception of lesser men: "In his new book Amazing Dogs: A Cabinet of Canine Curiosities, Cardiff University historian Jan Bondeson mines obscure German periodicals to reveal the Nazis' failed attempt to breed an army of educated dogs that could read, write and talk. According to the book, scientists envisioned a day when dogs would serve alongside German troops, and perhaps free up SS officers by guarding concentration camps. So to unlock all that canine potential, Hitler set up a Tier-Sprechschule (Animal Talking School) near Hanover and recruited "educated dogs" from throughout the country." If only they'd had a little more time, this was bound to work. Yes sir. On the other hand, someone did teach Michelle Bachmann to talk.

Undefeated

Sarah Palin has a new "epic" movie coming out this summer.  It is called The Undefeated. Good title.  They can't defeat you if you quit first.

Ass

This guy: "As Joe Lieberman winds down his two-decade career in the Senate, the onetime Democratic vice presidential nominee is reaching out to an unlikely group to help seal his political legacy: freshman Republicans.    Behind the scenes and in front of the cameras, the retiring foreign policy hawk is grooming, mentoring and partnering with a handful of GOP freshmen to ensure that, long after he’s left the Senate, his vision for America’s role abroad survives." What a monster.

Democrats Who Don't Have A Clue

Episode three million- how about these dueling headlines: "Kathy Hochul (D) wins Upset in NY-26 Special Election because of Medicare" "Hoyer: Cuts to Medicare are on the table...At his weekly Capitol briefing with reporters Tuesday, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) confirmed what aides in both parties have been telling reporters: Cuts to Medicare will be on the table in deficit and debt limit negotiations" How, I mean HOW can these guys be so stupid?  Don't they even care about their own re-election?  Man, it's hard fighting the evil people when the representatives that are supposed to be on our side are such a bunch of idiotic jackasses.

Green Eagle Enters Politics

Yes, Green Eagle has gotten tired of just squawking and has found a perfect place for himself, where he can use his unique expertise for the common good. Today, he found this stirring appeal on the internet: "The liberals and gays from California to Florida are crowing about the recent Congressional resolution on Slavery Apology. Should we really apologize for something that we didn't do? The logic follows were they better off when brought to America, and if not should we pay to send them back? How evil was antebellum slavery?"  Oh, I don't know...very, very evil or just very evil? "What determines that slavery in America was evil?"  Perhaps a minimal sense of common human decency. "If the Bible indeed is the final authority on right and wrong, then what does the Bible say about the institution of slavery?" Well, hate to break it to you, but if the bible is for slavery, then it is most definitely not "the final authority on right ...

You Can't Keep A Good Liar Down

Particularly when there's money to be made from it: "OAKLAND, Calif. – A California preacher who foretold of the world's end only to see the appointed day pass with no extraordinarily cataclysmic event has revised his apocalyptic prophecy, saying he was off by five months and the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21. Through chatting with a friend over what he acknowledged was a very difficult weekend, it dawned on him that instead of the biblical Rapture in which the faithful would be swept up to the heavens, May 21 had instead been a "spiritual" Judgment Day, which places the entire world under Christ's judgment, he said. The globe will be completely destroyed in five months, he said, when the apocalypse comes. But because God's judgment and salvation were completed on Saturday, there's no point in continuing to warn people about it, so his network will now just play Christian music and programs until the f...

Ready to Raise Cain

Image
In case the Repubicans are stupid or desperate enough to nominate Pizza maker Herman Cain to run for President, Green Eagle is already prepared with a bumper sticker: There you go.

What Real Israelis Think

Since Obama's speech about the middle east a few days ago, we have seen an avalanche of Republican attacks accusing him of selling Israel down the river.  These vicious attacks continue despite the fact that his position differs very little from the positions of the previous three Presidents, and just about every other sane person in the world. Having lived in Israel, I am growing increasingly intolerant of these right wing dicks who claim to speak for the Israelis, and who constantly misrepresent how real Israelis view their predicament.  I want to suggest, for anyone interested in the truth, rather than Repubican cant, that you try reading the Israeli newspaper Haaretz for a few days, and learn the truth.  You might want to start with this opinion piece, about the Palestinian claims to a right of return. Yes, this article represents the left end of Israeli thinking, but remember that here it is, in Israel's largest newspaper.  The truth is, Israelis are fa...

Wingnut Wrapup

Well, it's been a while.  After a few days of manic lying to try to deny that Obama accomplished anything when he took out Bin Laden, and few more lies to explain away Obama's having crushed them on the birther thing, wingnuts have fallen into a deep depression.  It is only with great difficulty that I have been able to dredge up this mediocre crop of contentious bilge: "(CNN) – Sarah Palin has given few indications in recent weeks she is still actively considering a presidential run, but the former Alaska governor said Thursday she has the “fire in my belly” to mount a bid for the White House. “I think my problem is that I do have the fire in my belly,” said Palin." Try not eating Italian Sausage subs so close to bedtime, Sarah. Bryan Fischer:  "Muslims have been [inbreeding] for fourteen hundred years and because this is what Muhammad did, they always will do this, they will always defend it, they will always practice it.  And this kind of inbreeding re...

Solving the Federal "Debt Crisis" the Rational Way

Via Daily Kos, this great article in (of all places) the Washington Post , by Harold Myerson: "Where else can we identify a comparably large group of drainers of the public till? Happily, the Tax Foundation — a conservative Washington-based think tank — has, however unintentionally, provided the answer. In 2007, the foundation published a survey of 2005 federal spending in each state and compared that with each state’s contribution in federal taxes. In other words, the foundation identified the states that sponge off the federal government and those that subsidize it. The welfare-queen states and the responsible, producing states, as it were. The list, alas, hasn’t been updated — in part, no doubt, because conservatives didn’t like what it revealed: that those states that got more back from our government than they paid in were overwhelmingly Republican. If we’re really serious, then, about reducing the deficit entirely through cutbacks, the solution is clear: Cut off the...

Alright, Already, Joseph, You Win...Obama's Birth Certificate MUST Be a Phony!

Image
Well, here it is, ladies and gentlemen, hot from the burning intellects that are Joseph Farah and Jerome Corsi, what we will all finally agree is conclusive proof that Obama's new birth certificate is a phony. This issue is so vital to the future of our country, that I feel justified in reproducing their shocking findings at some length.  I am sure they would approve: "Here is a close-up of the registrar's stamp on the White House-released document:"   "Additionally, with a magnification of 800 percent, the distinct form of a smiley face can be seen on the side of the "A" in Onaka's first name. The figure appears to be a side profile of a face with a nose, eye and mouth." "...the smiley face (is) not seen on other examples of the state registrar's seal, such as the copy of a long-form birth certificate released by the Hawaii Department of Health as recently as March 15:" "Why would the Hawaii DOH allow the document...

Minnesota Republicans Humiliate Themselves Again

Image
This time Republican State Legislators, who invited the following pathetic specimen of humanity to deliver the daily benediction this week: This is one Bradley Dean, who has, in the way of ministry, specialized in delivering Hitlerian denunciations of gays, and who came through as promised in front of the legislature, with the addition of the obligatory right wing claim that Barack Obama is not a Christian. Bradley also happens to be an alleged heavy metal musician, who is a member of " the second-best unsigned band in the nation." For your information, this title was bestowed upon them by a "Christian Heavy Metal" magazine, so take it for what it's worth.  (That would be zero.  We see a lot of live music in our family, and I guarantee you that this guy's band wouldn't be the three hundredth best unsigned band in the San Fernando Valley.  My wife's band could play these guys into an early grave while warming up.) Just for general information,...

Tea Party Shows Its Force

Image
Here's a great picture of a tea party the other day in South Carolina, featuring their lunatic governor Nikki Haley, and showing the ability that this mighty movement has to mobilize the American Masses. The website that featured this, Dangerous Minds, had the following comment: "If a picture paints a thousand words,  A.L. and Louise Geddings were lonesome representatives of the laughably low turnout yesterday when SC governor Nikki Haley spoke at a Tea Party rally at the Statehouse in Columbia Organizers for the event said they were expecting 2000 people to show up, but just 30 attended." As readers of Green Eagle know, I have been documenting the sham that has always been behind the facade of the tea party.  This picture pretty much sums it up.  Still, it suits the mainstream press to go on pretending that the teabaggers are a major presence who need to have a voice in our affairs. By the way, with this few people there, why did that ass Nikki Haley not go up ...

Show Trials

I remember long ago when I was in school, being taught about the show trials that were a regular part of life in the USSR under Stalin.  Do you remember that too?  Officials that fell into disfavor would be regularly hauled in front of tribunals where, in an effort to preserve their careers (or their lives,) they would abjectly confess in public to all sorts of supposedly sordid sins, and beg for forgiveness. What reminds me of that is what has been going on in the Republican party the last couple of years.  Look at Newt, not that I have a shred of sympathy for him.  Twenty years of prostituting himself in every possible manner for the Republican party; a career in which nothing was too low for him to do if the party demanded it, and what is his reward?  One inconvenient statement, and he is savaged by a hundred Republican officials, talk show hosts and bloggers.  He's through.  One misstep, one truth that accidentally fell from his lips and he is ru...

Why We Elected Jerry

Image
Tremendous news for anyone like my family that has an unfortunate familiarity with California education (and that in the rest of the country too) from our Governor, Jerry Brown, whose interest in children apparently extends farther than creating more of them with the maid: "California Governor Jerry Brown has taken a big step towards reducing the testing mania in the nation's most populous state. Up until his administration we have been on an accelerated path towards the comprehensive data-driven system that test publishers and corporate reformers have convinced leaders is needed to improve schools. But in the May Budget Outline from Brown's office, he makes it clear he is putting on the brakes. The budget outline says: "A number of problems have been identified with California's state testing, data collection and accountability regime. Testing takes huge amounts of time from classroom instruction. Data collection requirements are cumbersome and do ...

The Greatest Republican Statement of All Time

Newt Gingrich: "let me say on the record, any ad which quotes what I said on Sunday is a falsehood." Newt, I think you could have left out the "on Sunday" part. And More:  Newt's spokesman on his humiliation by his Republican "colleagues" the last few days: "Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world." There's nothing that says Washington outsider like being a former speaker of the House of Representatives.

Things that Hardly Need Saying

Chris Matthews: "“I think Sarah Palin proved herself to be — I think she’s proven herself to be profoundly stupid,” Matthews said to applause on-location in Los Angeles. “Her inability to answers the questions of Katie Couric, her inability of even now to explain if she ever reads anything.”  “Her absolute failure to begin studying and get serious about running for president,” he continued. “She has shown no effort to doing any homework or understanding issues about the economy or science or the world. No effort and she’s running for president? I don’t believe she would be at all helpful to our republic.”

Another Chapter In Press Collaboration

This time illustrated by an article in the Washington Post today, by Jonathan Bernstein, in which the author suddenly discovers that Newt Gingrich is not a responsible politician: "Newt is a problem of the GOP’s own making Republicans are embarrassed and infuriated that a prominent GOP presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich, blasted their House-passed budget and its Medicare plan in extreme language...Of course, Newt’s attack was entirely disingenuous.  Newt has always been a radical, and so it’s not surprising that a couple of weeks ... Newt saw Paul Ryan’s Medicare plans as too modest." Funny that Mr. Bernstein, like most of the rest of the mainstream press, never saw a problem with Gingrich for twenty years while he was setting new records for political hypocrisy, lying and dirty dealing.  But of course that was all directed toward Democrats.  Suddenly, when Gingrich says something which incidentally happens to be quite true, but which throws a monkey wrench in R...

A Word About Ol' Huck

Well, front runner Mike Huckabee has "decided" not to run for president.  Anyone with a brain knows that Huck is just one more lying Republican demagogue who would do anything to get his hands on real power.  He dropped out for one reason and one reason only.  After the last couple of weeks, he knows that he can't beat Obama, and neither can any other Republican anyone can think of.  Short, of course, of the Republican party causing a total economic collapse. Of course, that is exactly what many of them are working to accomplish, so you never know.  We could still wake up on January 20, 2013 with President Gingrich in charge of a country in a depression.

Not Going After the Black Vote, I Guess

"Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), who announced his candidacy for President today, just told Chris Matthews on Hardball that he, too, would have voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964."

A Shocking Statistic

This one: " If our nation were to return to the rates of incarceration we had in the 1970s, we would have to release 4 out of 5 people behind bars." One more result of the sickness that has overtaken our country since the presidency of Ronald Reagan- seeing prisons as an industry.  Just as greed, fueled by Reaganomics, has devastated our real estate business and our health care system, it has allowed millions to be imprisoned, primarily to benefit those employed in the prison sector and those who run prisons-for-profit. Those who insist that the inevitable inefficiencies of government bureaucracy could ever be worse than this outrage, are lying or are deeply morally defective.

Blasphemy

Rambling around the internet, I found this wonderful bit of biblical exegesis by a gun nut: "We must never forget the prophet Isaiah’s warning: Godless nations will one day stop training for war and start cooperating with one another by confiscating our swords, melting them into ploughs and forcing us all to become farmers. Substitute the word “swords” for our modern-day guns, and you’ll get the dire picture Isaiah was trying to paint." Really? Funny, I never understood that passage as meaning that, but then I am not a Man of the Lord like the writer of the above. Well, what the hell... I've got nothing better to do with my time, so I looked up the original: "Isaiah 2  2-5: 2  It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, 3  and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up...

Cooking the Books

Here's a great object lesson in how our mainstream "press" rigs the electoral game in favor of Republicans, over and over again.  It's a story from Daily Kos about the lie-spouting bully who they helped elect governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie.  First, the facts, after the people of New Jersey have had a year to get to know him: "38% of NJ adults approve of the job Christie is doing, 56% disapprove. According to this latest Eyewitness News Poll conducted by SurveyUSA exclusively for WABC-TV in New York City, NJ voters by 5:1 say Christie should not run for President. • By 2:1, NJ voters say Christie would be a worse president than Barack Obama. • Obama carried NJ in 2008 by 15 points. Obama's approval rating in NJ today is Plus 14 (54% approve, 40% disapprove). • Voters split evenly on whether Christie would be better president than George W. Bush." Not so good.  But as Kos documents, Cristie is constantly referred to in the national press...

American History Wingnut Style

Image
Well, I'm informed that this is Confederate Memorial Day in North and South Carolina (I'm sure you're soooo excited,) and for this august occasion, I'd like to bring you the following essay in honor of the occasion by someone eminently qualified to give us the wingnut position on the Civil War, Mr. J. D. Longstreet, author of such enlightening epistles as   Global Warming? I Don't THINK So!  and NULLIFICATION TODAY...SECESSION TOMORROW? THE SECOND U.S. CIVIL WAR BREWING? And here he is, in case you wondered what terminal deceit overdose does to the visage. Well hop on and enjoy the ride: "Let’s understand at the outset -- the US Constitution of 1861 did not forbid Secession from the Union.  That is a fact.  What the Confederate men did was perfectly legal." God, I have to break in already.  Do you think it might be okay if I present a different take on that subject?  Maybe you've heard it already: "Article III Section 3 Treason agai...

Wingnut Wrapup

And a little more from the endless fount of wingnut stupidity: Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, Town Hall:  "With Obama Vulnerable, Republicans Jockey in the Starting Gates" When did you write this one, guys?  Three months ago? Donald Lambro, Town Hall:  "Obama Must Meet GOP Deal, Or No Deal" In the words of your great leader, "bring it on."  Shut the government down.  Cause a Federal debt default for the first time in two hundred and fifty years.  See where it gets you. Red State:  "Rand Paul’s Right to Compare Universal Healthcare to “Slavery”' "Right."  Very far right. Erick Erickson, Red State:  "Why Yes, I Am Interviewing Donald Trump...He’s a blunt new voice that’s hitting our conservative establishment with the force of a wrecking ball." Well, he was last week. Larry Purdy, Pajamas Media:  "One Man-on-the-Street’s View of the Death of Osama Bin Laden...Is it so far off the mark to conclude that Obama, in app...

In Case You Haven't Had Enough Bad News Lately

"Tokyo Electric Power Co. officials have confirmed that the situation in one of the four affected reactors is worse than previously claimed. The fuel rods that powered the No. 1 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant are fully exposed and have melted or fallen into the bottom of the steel containment vessel. That vessel is now believed to be far more damaged than previously admitted by TEPCO. In fact, it contains several holes through which water being poured onto the reactor is leaking into the environment." Just the sort of thing that you want to hear, huh?  These reactors are going downhill faster than Donald Trump's approval rating.

Sorry, Wrong Again

This amusing comment, quoted at Americablog (I'd rather give them the hit than the major media figure who said this,) regarding Newt Gingrich's announcement that he is running as usual for president: " 11 Reasons Newt Gingrich Will be the 2012 GOP Nominee for President 1. Ideas and solutions: ... Policy is Newt's strength. He is well known for his constant generation of ideas and solutions. ..." Policy is not Newt's strength.  Hos strengths would be adultery and world class hypocrisy. There is one good reason why Newt might well be the 2012 GOP nominee for president:  There is no one on earth who will prostitute himself to anyone who will pay enough as Newt.  He's the king at that, for sure.

Wingnut Wrapup

So they've had two colossal, historical humiliations in the last week or so. Do you think it slowed them down?  NO! It sped them up!  Apparently, you can't keep a bad man down either.  So, hold on tight, here we go: Astute Bloggers:  "AS THE OBAMA/OSAMA STORY CHANGES AGAIN, ONE THING HAS BECOME CRYSTAL CLEAR: WE NEED A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION" Oh yes!  A congressional investigation of America's biggest anti-terrorist success in eight years.  That makes sense.  Nothing Obama deserves for catching Bin Laden like a sound Congressional humiliation. Astute Bloggers:  "The agreement between Fatah and Hamas marks the end of the so-called "peace process" - AND I BLAME OBAMA!" Of course you do.  Remember when one of you guys blamed Obama when his toilet stopped up? Andrew G. Bostom, American Thinker:  "Did Naval Burial Ceremony for Bin Laden Curse Jews and Christians, and Confer Pardon and Paradise on the Muslim Mass Murderer?" ...

I Don't Think So

Image
From the AP: "Colin Powell told graduates of South Carolina's premier historically black university that they were graduating during a tumultuous time that saw a royal wedding, a pope's beatification and a U.S. military assault that killed Osama bin Laden, "the worst person on earth." I don't think so: I rest my case.

The Death of Osama: Turning Victory into Disaster

Image
As promised, here is a sample of the predictable right wing reaction to Obama's having accomplished, with the death of Osama bin Laden, what would have been hailed by Repubicans everywhere as an epochal accomplishment if it had been produced by Bush and Cheney. I had intended this to be a sort of grand Wingnut Wrapup, but there seemed to be too much of a thread running through these comments to let them pass simply as an opportunity for some well-deserved ridicule.  Before continuing, let me remind you of some of the historical facts surrounding the World Trade Center bombing and the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Bill Clinton and his security advisors were extremely concerned with the threat posed by Bin Laden and his accompices.  He made, in fact, several attempts to eliminate Al Qaida.  This all took place against the background of the malicious Republican impeachment attempt, and every time he launched a strike against Osama, Republicans went public with savage attacks...
