Ukraine...Who is to blame?
Lindsay Graham: "It started with Benghazi. When you kill Americans and nobody pays a price, you invite this type of aggression."
John McCain: "Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Tuesday drew from a new source in arguing that President Barack Obama has been too 'soft' on Russia: An article Obama wrote back when he was in college.
In a blistering speech on the Senate floor, McCain blamed Obama..."This is the same guy that the president of the United States pushed the reset button time and again with," McCain said of Putin.
He then shifted his attention to a 1983 article called "Breaking the War Mentality," which Obama penned for a campus magazine as a senior at Columbia University."
Yes, Obama caused Putin to invade the Ukraine, either because of Benghazi, or because of a college paper he wrote in 1983. There you go- that explains everything. Of course we haven't yet heard from Rick Santorum to tell us that it's all because of Jesus something.
This would be some kind of sick satire if it weren't true. And notice that all of the people who are attacking Obama for allegedly being naive in regard to Putin seem to have totally forgotten the man-crush that their guy Bush had on him:
“I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.”
Once again, Republican attacks on Obama are nothing but an attempt to tar him with their own failings. At least no one is quoting anything that Bush wrote when he was in college. Even "My Pet Goat" would have more to tell us about the world than that.
Comments
I have yet to hear any of the Republicans who denounce Obama's supposedly inadequate response specify exactly what it is they think he should be doing. Russia has a huge, powerful military and a nuclear arsenal bigger than ours. It isn't Grenada.
Was hotter than anything that has so far happened re Crimea.
Did Bush do anything miraculous that Obama might consider? No.
Did anyone blame him for it? No.
Did McCain say ‘we are all Georgians’...? I honestly cannot remember.

Good point.
