The Wisconsin Nightmare Continues

While we are transfixed by Wisconsin's Republican governor and his attempt to ape Adolf Hitler's labor policies (all of it, of course, except the full employment part*) the Wisconsin Republicans are brewing another horror for us, as described here:

"If this isn't the best summary of the goals of modern conservatism, I don't know what is. It's like a highlight reel of all of the tomahawk dunks of neo-Gilded Age corporatism: privatization, no-bid contracts, deregulation, and naked cronyism. Extra bonus points for the explicit effort to legally redefine the term "public interest" as "whatever the energy industry lobbyists we appoint to these unelected bureaucratic positions say it is."

And you know who those "energy industry lobbyists" are.  Yes. it's the very same people who paid to bus in "counter protesters" to demonstrate their support for having their free speech rights stripped from them, the same "energy industry lobbyists" who contributed all they could to help elect Governor Walker, the same "energy industry lobbyists" who financed the teabaggers:  the Koch brothers, who intend to reap the rewards of their  loyalty by relieving the people of the State of Wisconsin of their property, at cut-rate prices.

I rarely refer to another web post as a must read- this is one.  The open, naked abandonment of the principles that supposedly make this country unique is shocking in its speed and its thoroughness.  And people can't stay out in the street forever- all these pigs have to do is wait it out, and they can pretty much wreak all the devastation they want to.

*I guess Wisconsin doesn't have an out of control war machine to absorb excess workers like Nazi Germany did.  Yet.
