Wingnut Wrapup

This has been a little hard lately, because the right wingers continue to be so piggish and so humorless that I can barely stand looking at what they have to say.  Oh well, on I go.  I have to start out with one of the most shameless lies I have heard lately:

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "Since winning a recall election in 2012, Governor Scott Walker has seen incredible economic success in Wisconsin thanks to successfully keeping collective bargaining in check and through providing major tax cuts to workers.
Today, (Scott) Walker signed Senate Bill 1 into law, cutting taxes by $504 million over the next two years for workers and families. The legislation slashes property tax rates and wipes out income taxes for manufacturers."

Hah.  First of all, there is this:

"According to Wednesday's report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin gained 23,963 private-sector jobs in the 12 months from June 2012 through June 2013, a 1.0% increase that ranks the state 37th among the 50 states in the pace of job creation during that period."

And then, there is the little fact that slashing property tax and eliminating corporate taxes is not what most sentient people would call "cutting taxes for workers and families."  The absolute lack of any moral compass in spreading these lies is A) breathtaking, and B) exactly what we expect from Republicans.

John Ransom, Town Hall:  "Obama Impeachment Almost Complete"

Been hitting the Oxy again, huh, John?  John thinks Obama is gone because of the IRS "scandal," something which turned out to be a totally made up lie, created by Darryl Issa.  But of course, a lie is all you need when you're a Republican.

Star Parker, Town Hall:  "Despite Big Challenges, Conservatives Will Continue to Fight"

As long as rich guys keep paying you to do it, right, Star?

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "Yet Another Report on Obamacare Increasing Price of Health Care"

This is because private insurance companies are planning on increasing patient costs for medicine.  Thanks a lot, Obama, it's all your fault!

Todd Starnes, Town Hall:  "Why Does Air Force Academy Encourage Atheism, Prosecute Christianity?"

Let me guess:  because atheists don't start wars and Christians do?

American Thinker:  "Cold is the Killer...Warmth is our friend."

Global warming advice from your friendly right winger.  Take it for what it's worth.

Ed Morrissey, Hot Air:  "Will ordination doctrine drive a “mass exodus of the faithful” from the Catholic Church?"

That would be the ordination of women.  Believe me, Ed, anyone left after a hundred thousand or so children were raped by priests, but who quits because of ordination of women is so despicable that the Church can do without them just fine.

Michael Bastach, Daily Caller:  "Climate scientists REFUSE to debate global warming skeptics"

In other news:  Mugging victims refuse to have bare-knuckled boxing matches with their attackers.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Margaret Sanger Was a Racist Monster. So Why Did Nancy Pelosi Accept an Award Named After Sanger?"

A monster. In Conservative fantasyland, of course.  Not in the real world, where this woman devoted her life to lifting poor families out of poverty.  Of course, to hear Republicans these days, that sort of thing is monstrous.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Valerie Jarrett Admits Pushing Obamacare to Hollywood Writers"

And?  Jim, if this is the biggest "scandal" you can come up with these days, I think maybe you should hang it up.

Gina Miller, Renew America:  "Homofascists turn their "gay" guns on Mississippi

No comment needed.

Sher Zieve, Renew America:  "Putin & Obama working together to split up the spoils after the war?   I suggest that we have – as prophesied – reentered the Days of Noah...when even the soil was corrupted."

For a while there, I thought there were a couple of challengers to Sher for the title of Most Mentally Ill Person at Renew America (a tough contest, with a lot of worthy challengers,) but little could I see how easily Sher would bat them all away and retain her title.

The Right Scoop:  "Ted Cruz makes surprise appearance, gives speech at Supreme Court building in solidarity with Hobby Lobby "

That's nice.
John Ransom, Town Hall:  "Sarah Palin is Right: Obamacare Death Panel Real; Disguised as the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee"

Yeah, I read this article.  It had nothing to do with Obamacare, really.  So I never did find out how the DSCC is going to come and kill your granny.  Sorry- I tried.

Dennis Prager, Town Hall:  "As I have often noted, the most dynamic and influential religion of the past hundred years has not been Christianity, let alone Judaism, the two religions that created the Western world. Nor has it been Islam. It has been Leftism."

Except, of course, for the fact that "leftism" is not a religion.  Of course neither is the sick mixture of greed and hatred that you right wingers peddle, so maybe you can't tell the difference.

Debra J. Saunders, Town Hall:  "Should Congress repeal Obamacare?"

God, give it up already.

Bob Barr, Town Hall:  "Who Will Pick Up The Pieces When ObamaCare Crashes and Burns?"

When did you write this, Bob?  Two years ago?  Aging your talking points these days before spewing them out?

Michelle Malkin, Town Hall:  "Michelle Malkin: Dear Mr. Colbert: Me so stupid. You so funny!
"

You got that right, Michelle.  Oh, wait- you were trying to make a joke?  Well, like you said, Colbert funny, Michelle stupid.  Remember that in the future.

Daniel Doherty, Town Hall:  "Poll: 65 Percent Say IRS Should Not Enforce Obamacare"

With the tide turning strongly in favor of Obamacare, and as they see their number one 2014 campaign issue circling the drain, Republicans are looking for any sort of alleged fact to convince themselves that people still don't like having medical insurance.  Keep at it, guys.  Finally, your chance to prove that Nate Silver is wrong.

By the way, this survey comes from the "non-profit" "Galen Institute."  From Wikipedia:  " the Galen Institute's stated mission is "advancing free-market ideas in health policy..."  They've been publishing anti-Obamacare hit pieces for years.  A reliable source, huh?

Michael Schaus, Town Hall:  "Mozilla CEO Learns that Liberals Hate Diversity"

Liberals hate rich liars, Mr. Mozilla CEO.  Suck on that.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Reid Responds to Campaign Finance Decision With Decorum And Restraint. Just Kidding – He Comes Up With Another Koch Conspiracy"

Not another conspiracy, sorry to say, Bryan.  The same old one.  And still true.

World Net Daily EXCLUSIVE:  "A Polish priest has warned parents to be on their guard against Lego, warning the plastic blocks are a tool of Satan and can “destroy” children’s souls."

Exclusive?  I wonder why all the media aren't running with this earth-shaking story.  Here's a perfect example of what World Net Daily adds to our national discourse.  Thanks, guys, for that.

And I think that pretty well caps off another day in wingnut world.  'Bye for now.

Wisconsin.....ranks the state 37th among the 50 states in the pace of job creation

Well, of course they define "incredible economic success" as reducing the workers to serfdom, not creating jobs for them -- hence that bit about "keeping collective bargaining in check".

Climate scientists REFUSE to debate global warming skeptics

Most evolutionary biologists oppose holding debates with creationists because it gives the public the impression that there's a controversy about evolution among actual scientists, when in fact there is not. Maybe climate scientists are getting the idea. The National Geographic Society doesn't usually debate the flat-Earthers either.

I gotta look into those Satanic Lego blocks. The Dark Lord sure moves in mysterious ways.

I know this is a little bit of a long stretch but... Malkin is carrying on there about ethnic stereotyping with the “so so” thing… quite misfired too...

Now... she works for the Murdoch empire... who have a local paper here who used that
EXACT SAME PHRASING
in a front page headline recently
to personally disparage a female Asian-Australian TV presenter
over not being sufficiently Right wing enough for their liking.

And unlike with the target of Malkin’s ire...it was actually deliberate, calculated and personally targeted race-baiting to that paper’s feral audience.

It’s far too far afield for Malkin to have ever heard about, sure... but she’s on another twig of that very same sleazy ersatz 'news' machine.

I saw that thing and this Malkin thing on the same day.. and wanted to thump my head on my keyboard.
