Wingnut Wrapup

Let's just start out with the most preposterous Lie of the Week:

Jim DeMint, former Senator and current head of the Heritage Foundation:   “no liberal is going to win a debate that big government freed the slaves.”

No, they were freed by kindly Southern plantation owners who only wanted the best for them.  And here's the funny thing- here is a typical reaction to this story:

"They're destroying the reputation and credibility of the Heritage Foundation. The respect for their policy work has been greatly diminished."

Reputation and credibility of the Heritage Foundation?  They have never been anything but a lying, partisan propaganda factory, and anyone with a brain knows it.  Here, by the way, is a list of some of the major backers of the Heritage foundation:

"Heritage Foundation received $61,944,537 in foundation grants from organizations such as: the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, the Scaife Foundations, the John M. Olin Foundation, Inc., Castle Rock Foundation, JM Foundation, Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundation, the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation, and (of course) the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation."

The biggest right wing lie factories in the country.  Well, not all of them, of course.  Just some of them. Think you're going to get credibility from them?

And another "scandal" that's going nowhere:

Christine Rousselle, Town Hall:  ""FaithVoters4Hillary" Verified Twitter Account Has Thousands of Fake Followers"

Fake twitter followers. I guess the point is that the hundreds of polls showing that Hillary is trouncing any Republican you can think of are just a bunch of hooey.  Just like in 2012.

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "College Isn't For Everyone"

Only for rich people.  Kevin makes his point more clear:

"a government that and subsidizes higher education has driven up costs"

Helping poor people afford college makes it more expensive for rich people.  The outrage!

John Ransom, Town Hall:  "What’s More Pathetic: Obamacare Success Stories or Big Foot Video Footage?"

When you have 7.1 million big foot videos, get back to us, John.  As usual, the suggestion that Obamacare success stories are "pathetic" is really only about obscuring the dozens of highly publicized Obamacare "failure" stories, every one of which turned out to be a lie.

Matt Barber, Town Hall:  "Why Are They Called ‘Homofascists’? Here’s Why…"

Do you really care what bogus reason Matt pulls out of his...well, you know.  No, we all know that the reason they are called homofascists is because people like Matt Barber are intolerant, hate-filled pigs.  So let's just move on.

Ed Driscoll, PJ Media:  "A decade ago, a simple question caused David Letterman to reveal his monstrous worldview."

And the world has never recovered.  Well, rest easy, guys.  He's going away.  And I'm sure you will like his replacement so much more.

There.  Satisfied now?

Frank Fleming, PJ Media:  "That’s No Moon: That’s Obamacare!"

The death star!  The worst right wing Obamacare analogy ever!

"Let’s say there is some intergalactic empire, and it makes a massive space station. The idea of the space station is that it will fire a beam at any planet, and that beam will rejuvenate and heal the planet’s environment. But the empire completely messes it up, and the first time they fire the beam at a planet, it blows it up. So do the people responsible for this just say, “This is a disaster! People hate planets being blown up! No one will want to listen to the Empire anymore!”? No, they rename the space station the Death Star and rule through fear."

Obamacare!  Rule by fear!  Oh well, at least it won't be fear of getting sick and not having health care.

Creation Moments:  "Hideous creature is for real- and it bites!"

This one?

Michael Bresciani, Renew America:  "Homo-lobby: Making children of hell in America"

I've got nothing to say about this- I just thought you'd get a laugh out of the title.

Tim Dunkin, Renew America:  "You can't spell "progressive" without an "S.S."

Because social security, medicare, the eight hour day, the minimum wage, the Civil Rights act and the Affordable Care Act are just like oh, say, the Battle of Stalingrad.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tim.  We've heard it all before.

Washington Times:  "Conservatives launch boycott of Mozilla after gays press CEO to quit"

When liberals announced a boycott of Mozilla, it was the Gestapo back in action.  Now that Conservatives are doing it, it's heroism!

Selwyn Duke, Renew America:  "Saving civilization means killing equality"

There's no end to the vicious piggishness of right wingers.  A sample of Selwyn's argument:

"The truth is that equality dogma is a fiction of modern times. As for the timeless, the word "equality" appears in only 21 biblical verses"

Here are a few words that don't appear in the Bible at all:  free enterprise, democracy, homosexual, racism, capitalism, original intent...I could go on and on.  And here are a few things that do appear in the Bible which people like Selwyn seem to have forgotten about:  caring for the sick, the poor, prisoners, the strangers among us.  So, Selwyn, if you are hip to internet abbreviations, please, STFU.

Reverend Austin Miles, Renew America:  "Noah's ark hijacked by atheist pirates"

Oh, for God's sake, Austin, grow up already.

And another doomed right wing campaign:

I guess this comes from the "honk if you love Jesus" people.  I don't think it's going to work.  Maybe it will bring Tinkerbelle back to life, though.

Scott Erickson, Town Hall:  " Anti-Gun Advocates Use Fort Hood Shooting to Advance Agenda"

What a horrible thing.  When a really ugly gun murder takes place, the only fair thing to do is to ignore it until everyone forgets about it, not point out what a tragedy it is.

Alan Keyes, Renew America:  "Fort Hood and the lies we cannot live with...The stories report that "officials" are saying that there was no indication that the second shooting spree at Fort Hood was terrorism-related. They say that "Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, III Corps commander at Fort Hood, said the shooter was a soldier who was under evaluation for post-traumatic stress disorder." They say that "the shooter, identified as 34-year old Ivan Lopez, is among the dead."

So they say."

They're lying.  It really is terrorism.  Will you be surprised to know that this son of a bitch cannot muster a single piece of evidence to support this malicious claim- just the usual raving about liberal communists?  But he makes the claim anyway, because somewhere, he hopes, there are still some ignorant suckers who can be conned into thinking the Obama administration is a pack of terrorists.  "Lies we cannot live with," indeed.

Alan Caruba, Renew America:  "Gay intolerance versus corporate integrity"

Corporate integrity.  I mean, really.

Laurie Roth, Renew America:  "For many years, I have believed that we have needed more than just a plan to try and impeach Obama or take action against him due to his obvious ineligibility. There have been dozens of lawsuits that have been crushed or been ignored by the courts so far. Does Obama own every judge and court in America? One wonders after awhile."

Here's another possibility you may want to consider, Laurie, when you have some free time:  his Hawaiian birth certificate is real.  I know it's hard for you to conceive of such a thing, but stranger stuff has happened. Like when the Supreme Court made Bush President.  Or like someone like you giving up her hatred and actually trying to tell the truth.  Oh, wait.  That never did happen.  My bad.

World Net Daily:  "Mexican soldiers draw guns on U.S. agents"

Hey, they were standing their ground.

Silvio Canto, American Thinker:  "We're sick and tired of Democrats complaining about 'too much money' in politics"

I bet you are.  Too bad.

Bryan Preston, PJ Media:  "Holder: DOJ Considering Forcing Gun Owners to Wear Electronic Bracelets"

This story has cropped up several places on the right the last couple of days.  Rest assured- it's false.  That won't stop them, now, will it?

Washington Times:  "Congressional Republicans press for arming Ukraine"

I think this should read "Congressional Republicans press for World War III."  Of course, put that way, it's hardly news.

Tell Me Now:  "OBAMA TRYING TO CHANGE THE LAW TO GIVE HIMSELF THIRD TERM"

The evidence for this dastardly act?

"At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on December 3, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) asked that if President Barack Obama has the “prosecutorial discretion” not to enforce all the laws he’s been ignoring, is there anything to stop him from enforcing election laws and, for instance, run for a third term?"

That's it, folks.  Is there anything to stop him for running for a third term?  How about all 50 States, which would not let him on the ballot? How about his own party, which would never go along with that?  How about the fact that he has probably had enough lies and smears directed his way by Republicans to last a lifetime, and he'd have to be crazy to run again?  This Gowdy guy is trying to give Louie Gohmert a challenge for stupidest member of Congress, and he may be pulling even.

Well, there you go.  Is there more?  As always, there's plenty.  But enough for today.  'Bye!
