Bundy- It Ain't Over Yet

I hate to keep harping on this, but in case you didn't know this, a lot of the militia members that ran with their guns to the "defense" of Cliven Bundy are still there:

"Concerns are growing about members of the militia surrounding rancher Cliven Bundy.

Democratic Rep. Steven Horsford, sent a letter to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie about the safety of residents in the Bunkerville area. Horsford says his constituents have "expressed concern" over the presence of armed militia groups from out of state.

According to Horsford, his constituents say the militia have set up checkpoints where residents must prove they live in the area before they are allowed to pass and have set up a "persistent presence" along federal highways, and state and county roads. They also claim some have established an armed presence in the community.

Horsford told the sheriff that the militia are making people feel unsafe.'

These are violent, deranged individuals who are being egged on by many national Republican leaders and their spokesmen, and we all know that they are just praying for a chance to start shooting.  I must say, I don't know what the government can do at this point, but I will say that we are in the process of moving one step closer to an incredibly ugly situation in this country, in which a lot of people are going to be hurt.

Establishing checkpoints and stopping people? Who the hell do they think they are? If that's true, the police can't let it slide -- their failing to protect people from what amounts to an amateur military occupation.

Meanwhile, what they're doing in Texas is almost as bad.

They are deliberately trying to provoke violence, and I guess it is the job of government to be the adults and not respond, but man, I wish they could get the beating down they deserve, and which would be a good thing for all of us.

Wingnuts Slightly Annoyed about that $83 Million

How can you look like a decrepit old geezer and an out of control two year old at the same time? I thought it might be nice to look in on wingnut world to see how they are taking yesterday's $83 million dollar Trump legal loss.  You kind of know that they will decide it shouldn't affect their opinion of him in any way, but it might be helpful to see just how the Republican party has trained them to reject any fact they don't like.  Not that surprisingly, a lot of the usual wingnut suspects didn't touch this loss at all, preferring to just ignore anything that interferes with their hateful daydreams, but here are a few excerpts from an article at Gateway Pundit, along with a sample of the hundreds of comments it received.  Enjoy.  Or not.  And nobody hears it, is it really running for President at all? First of all, a note about my absence lately:  My wife got me to sign up for an account at Threads, which is sort of like X without the assholes.  I've spent a little time establishing myself there, and I have to say, I do like the relatively immediate exchange of views, but I don't mean to give up my blog- there are still so many things that can't be dealt with in a couple hundred words, so, perhaps to your dismay, I am back.
