Truth Emerges About Bush and 9-11 (And Basically Everything Else)
And it is as ugly as you could ever fear it would be. Here are some excerpts from a Salon article about a newly released bunch of NSA documents relating to the period before 9-11. This article is absolutely must reading, and I urgently encourage you to click on the link and read it all. Every American needs to know what these documents reveal:
Here is the plain truth: The Republican Bush-Cheney administration did not give a God damn about the security of the United States, other than as a club to beat up on Democrats with the endlessly repeated lie that only Republicans can protect America. And crazy left-wingers like myself, who desperately tried to point out this obvious fact at the time were shouted down as traitors by Republicans, the mainstream press and unfortunately, many Democrats too.
Now, let's move on to the "everything else" part of this comment. Here's a chart, from a post at Daily Kos by Joan McCarter:
And a couple of comments from her post:
Now, back to Green Eagle. As long as I have had this blog, and long before, I have insisted on this single fact as the most important reality in American politics today: The Republican party exists for one purpose and one purpose only: To plunder the resources of this country and its people, on behalf of a minuscule number of fantastically rich people, many of them not even Americans. Republicans don't care about our security, as the first half of this post makes so clear, they don't care about our ability to lead decent lives, they don't care about the fate of our children, they don't care about a thing except robbing us blind, and they have exactly zero scruples about engaging in whatever malignant, vicious behavior it takes to accomplish this goal.
What is more, they are so stupid and so blind that they cannot see that they are going to destroy the world for everyone, including themselves, if they continue their present course. The Great Depression and the rise of Nazi Germany will look like nothing but a dress rehearsal for what is coming if these people continue their present course; and with the Supreme Court and the mainstream press in their hands, it is difficult to muster much conviction that anything can turn their juggernaut aside.
"New NSA docs contradict 9/11 claims
Over 120 CIA documents concerning 9/11, Osama bin Laden and counterterrorism were published today for the first time...Perhaps most damning are the documents showing that the CIA had bin Laden in its cross hairs a full year before 9/11 — but didn’t get the funding from the Bush administration White House to take him out or even continue monitoring him. The CIA materials directly contradict the many claims of Bush officials that it was aggressively pursuing al-Qaida prior to 9/11, and that nobody could have predicted the attacks.
Many of the documents publicize for the first time what was first made clear in the 9/11 Commission: The White House received a truly remarkable amount of warnings that al-Qaida was trying to attack the United States. From June to September 2001, a full seven CIA Senior Intelligence Briefs detailed that attacks were imminent, an incredible amount of information from one intelligence agency...During the entire month of August, President Bush was on vacation at his ranch in Texas — which tied with one of Richard Nixon’s as the longest vacation ever taken by a president. CIA Director George Tenet has said he didn’t speak to Bush once that month, describing the president as being “on leave.” Bush did not hold a Principals’ meeting on terrorism until September 4, 2001, having downgraded the meetings to a deputies’ meeting, which then-counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke has repeatedly said slowed down anti-Bin Laden efforts “enormously, by months.”

"Republicans want the middle class to pay for tax cuts for the rich
It's official: the Mitt Romney-endorsed Paul Ryan budget would put the burden of tax cuts for the rich squarely on the backs of the middle class. A report by Senate Democrats, reviewed by non-partisan Tax Policy Center, concludes that the plan would have to displace the tax burden of huge cuts for the wealthy onto the rest of us...
Remember, this is just the tax side of the Ryan plan. The devastating cuts to everything from Pell Grants to Medicaid and Medicare would put even bigger burdens on low-income and middle-class America.
This is the Republican plan for America, led by Paul Ryan and endorsed by Mitt Romney: protect the rich and screw everyone else."

Ha you leftists always want to blame Bush!
Remember!
"We were certainly safe between 2000 and 2008. I don't remember any terrorist attacks on American soil during that period of time." - Eric Bolling at Faux News
This isn't the first time this has happened:
"We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term..." ~ Bush Spokesliar Dana Perino.
"We inherited the most tragic attack on our own soil in our nation's history," ~ Mary Matalin.
"[George Bush] he inherited the negative impact of 9/11," - Sean Hannity
"We had no domestic attacks under Bush," - Rudy Guilani
It is therefore our duty to say, yet again, that Bush fucked up. Unequivocally. Catastrophically.
To say again that he never had the gravitas, the mind, the sheer maturity… to understand the magnitude and solemnity of responsibility that was his. And thousands are dead directly because of it, and perhaps a million more indirectly because of it.
For the prospect of a President Romney, Orwell might have added
“We of the sinking middle class may sink without further struggles into the working class where we belong, and probably when we get there it will not be so dreadful as we feared, for, after all, we have nothing to lose.”
The people who OWN the Republicans want the middle class working hard for next to nothing, with the alternative being not working at all.
If you’re an illegal, you’re probably not paying taxes in the first place, which means you can’t get a tax cut.
(I’ll give you a few seconds to bonehead that one over….)
As for single mothers with 10 kids, reflect for a second that those 10 kids are the future of your country. Yeah you could just let them go hungry and die in the street, if that’s the sort of country you want - assuming they don’t kill you for food money instead – but how about they lived, got an education, grew up, became doctors, and kept your heart going after your brain runs low on the required power? Would that sort of country interest you… ? If not, then there are other nice places you can go which might suit you more. Bangladesh and Somalia are both beautiful at this time of year.
