Megalomania
Thy name is Newt. This guy is one sick character:
"Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich says his ideas are so big that the news media can't cover them and his opponents can't comprehend them.
"The level of effort it would take to change the system is beyond the imagination of most elected officials and beyond the imagination of most candidates," Gingrich remarked. "The thing I find most disheartening about this campaign is the difficulty of talking about positive ideas on a large scale. Because the news media can't cover it and, candidly, my opponents can't comprehend it."
And what might those massive ideas be? For a hint, I went back to look at Newt's greatest intellectual contribution to American culture, the Contract with America, from the 1990's, Here is a pretty good selection of the brilliant, unprecedented thinking contained therein:
"A balanced budget/tax limitation amendment
cuts in social spending to fund prison construction and additional law enforcement
prohibiting welfare to minor mothers and denying increased AFDC for additional children while on welfare, cut spending for welfare programs, and enact a tough two-years-and-out provision with work requirements to promote individual responsibility.
strengthening rights of parents in their children's education, stronger child pornography laws
No U.S. troops under U.N. command
capital gains cut and indexation
In other words, the exact same garbage that Republicans have been peddling since 1920. This is one truly narcissistic, deranged egomaniac, and yet he ran virtually even in the various Southern Republican primaries. Oh, by the way, there is one massive political thinker who is on Newt's level:
Ronald Reagan. Apparently, you have to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease to be Newt's intellectual equal. Finally, something we can agree on.
Well, there you have it: a crazy egomaniac, an ignorant religious lunatic and a greed-maddened rich guy who made his money destroying companies- the Republican field.

require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase"

"Other than Ronald Reagan, I know of no Republican in my lifetime who's been able to talk like this," Mr. Gingrich told a banquet crowd here, referring to his own policy ideas on energy, brain science and other matters. "That's why I'm still running, because the gap is so huge."

A bunch of baby raping death squads got money in shady deals involving drug importation and selling weapons to Iran, and all he had to say was that he hadn’t a fucking clue as to what was going on.
This myth that he was anything other than a corrupt living fossil of the 50s male is nauseating. Even Obama pays lip service to it, for which I do not forgive him.
