Wingnut Wrapup

Today's Wingnut Wrapup dedicated to Ann Coulter, who observed that if Hillary is elected President, we could "end up with nine Ruth Bader Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court."

Sorry, Ann,not a chance. This is America, not heaven.

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "It's Working: Insurers Project 'Substantial Increases' in 2017 Obamacare Premiums"

Yeah, that would be about 4% over last year.  Not so much compared to the increases of well over 10% that had become normal before Obamacare.  Oh well, they can't stop lying.  Or their paychecks will be cut off, and what is 20 million people kicked off health insurance compared to that?

Justin Holcomb, Town Hall:  "Trump Running Up the Score, Hits 50 Percent in National Poll"

That's 50% in polls of Republicans, by the way.  I wouldn't want anyone out there to have a heart attack.  Anyway, the thing I love about Republican party apparatchicks here is that "running up the score," normally a derided practice in sports, has now been morphed into a synonym for "winning," when it's not the guy you want.  Oh well, we've had seven years to hear about how Obama wasn't really the President, so this doesn't amount to much in the way of a lie.

Justin Holcomb, Town Hall:  "Ted Cruz 'Educates' Woman On Complicated Delegate Process: 'I Don't Control the Rules'

No, your rich backers do that for you.

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "Trump: This 'Collusion' Between Losers Cruz and Kasich is 'Desperate'"

It is.  But it's all you've got.  Deal with it.

Susan Wright, Red State:  "Ted Cruz As Supreme Court Justice?  He would be AMAZING in this capacity."

Amazing.  Yeah, that would be one word for it.  A man with the morals of Antonin Scalia and the sanity of Geoffrey Dahmer.

Moe Lane, Red State:  "Voter ID law upheld in North Carolina. AGAIN. Geez, can’t the Left take a hint?"

Yeah! After decades of this, can't the left figure out that if Republicans can't win fair and square, they are going to cheat themselves into power?  And part of that power is appointing judges that will tell us to shut up because there isn't a damned thing we can do about it?  Get used to it, Democrats- it's not your father's democracy any more.  Or any kind of democracy for that matter.

Bryan Fischer, Renew America:  "Which candidate will protect our daughters?"

Good question, Bryan.  Which candidate will protect them from growing up in an uninhabitable world?  Which candidate will protect them from having their government give up any pretense of benefiting anyone except the super-rich?  Which candidate will protect them from the 300,000,000 guns on the loose around our country?

Oh, Bryan is talking about who will protect them from being assaulted in a womens' restroom by a man in a dress, something which, as far as I can tell, has never happened.  Well, thanks for being on the watch, Bryan.

And they are sure worried about this today at Renew America:

Dan Popp, Renew America:  "The war on God goes to the bathroom"

Great line there, Dan.  I hope they remember to lower the lid when they are done.  Dan continues:

"As Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz asked regarding the boys-in-the-girl's-room issue, "Have we gone stark, raving nuts?" Yes, Senator, that is exactly what has happened"

It sure is.  You have gone stark raving nuts.  I don't know how else to explain your obsessing month after month about something which has never been demonstrated to harm a single person, while ignoring the imminent collapse of the human race.

Sylvia Thompson, Renew America:  "If any Americans think that the Obama Treasury Department's decision to change the face of paper money has anything to do with good intentions, they are sadly mistaken. This move is another ploy by Barack Obama and his cadre of sycophants, behaving badly, to provoke divisiveness throughout the populace.  Under whatever guise Obama is cloaking this despicable move, he has delivered another blow to the American people, especially white people. Another in-your-face to all who hold this nation's founding and history dear...This man Barack Obama could not sink lower in my estimation. He is like a cancer eating away at the soul of the nation."

Oh well, everything Obama does is a cancer, we all know that.  I particularly liked this remark of Sylvia's:

"Classic liberal Greta Van Susteren, on her Fox News show, called the plan to remove Andrew Jackson from the twenty dollar bill and replace him with Harriet Tubman "stupid."

"Classic Liberal" Greta Van Susteren, who has spent the last two decades on Fox News pushing the Roger Ailes-Republican party line every single day.  Sometimes I just don't even know what to say about their willingness to believe anything that suits their purpose.

But of course, there is an explanation for everything:

"I hope it is not lost on anyone that Andrew Jackson was from Tennessee, a state that chose not to kowtow to Obama's half-blackness in his election bids of both 2008 and 2012"

Okay then, let's move on.

Michael Filozoff, American Thinker:  " Hastert is undoubtedly the pervert and sexual predator he is accused of being...(but) I am troubled by the way Hastert was prosecuted.  It seems to me that the government targeted Hastert because he was a prominent politician and, in so doing, threw the constitutional rights of criminal defendants out the window."

Prosecuting a Republican for any crime, no matter how bestial, is just out of bounds in America.

Daily Stormer:  "Imagine New Orleans Without Black People… Private Property Would be Virtually Unattainable"

Yeah, imagine the whole country without this:

or this:

or this:

Or, for that matter, without this:
(photo- New Orleans Food)

But property values would be a lot higher, yes sir!  Too high for that sort to even think of moving in!  Why, it would turn New Orleans into Orange County.  Wouldn't we all be better off with that?

Caleb Howe, Red State:  "EXCELLENT: Ted Cruz Announces Carly Fiorina As VP Candidate...This was a great event, Carly is a great pick, and this is all great news."

EXCELLENT!  Green Eagle agrees.  Hey, since when did Red State start letting liberals write posts there?  And let's not forget Caleb's opinion:

"my favorite thing about Carly is the way she handles the media. She’ll do that for the next few days and it will blow people away who have never seen it. And of course, she is incredible during political debates, which will be great when and if she faces off against whatever puppet Hillary sticks her clawed hand into."

Well, my theory is that Cruz picked Carly so people would have to stop saying he is the most disgusting person in the race.

And in case you didn't figure this out, in Republican English, "handles the media" roughly translates as "is able to lie with a straight face."

Kimberley Ross, Red State:  "If Hillary Wins, Let That Be on Trump Supporters"

Because it couldn't be that the American people think Hillary would be a good President.  Actually, Kimberley, if you want to keep the blame on your side of the aisle, how about blaming the leaders of the Republican party who spent the last thirty years creating an ignorant, violent base that makes all its decisions based on greed and hatred?  Trump is the result, not the cause, and if you don't deal with that fact, we'll have someone even worse next time, and the time after that, until finally the Republicans find a tyrant so persuasive that he will get a majority of Americans to believe that something a lot like Nazi Germany would be a much better way to run things.  And no, I'm not exaggerating.

And I love this one, for the most blatant, easily disproven lie of the year:

Jim Hoft (who else?), Gateway Pundit:  "SIMPLY THE WORST=> Obama is First President Ever to Not See Single Year of 3% GDP Growth"

Well, except for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.  Of course, growth was indeed below 3% in Obama's first year, following the great Bush depression.  But then, the Bush years have been pretty much been written out of existence in right wing history.  Just for your information, GDP growth for Bush's last year in office was -0.92%, the first time that GDP growth was negative since 1949.  That was, unoubtedly Obama's fault too.

Washington Examiner:  "As expected, Trump handily wins 5 liberal Eastern states—as Cruz looks forward to more friendly territory in rest of the primaries"

Sorry to break it to you, guys, but as far as I can tell, the closest "friendly territory" for Cruz is on the moon.  And I think I heard that Republicans closed all the polling places there, out of fear that aliens would show up to vote.
