Hate to Harsh Your Mellow, Climate Deniers

From the National Climatic Data Center:

"According to NOAA scientists, the average temperature for the contiguous U.S. during May was 64.3°F, 3.3°F above the long-term average, making it the second warmest May on record. The month's high temperatures also contributed to the warmest spring, warmest year-to-date, and warmest 12-month period the nation has experienced since recordkeeping began in 1895."

Just sayin'.

Anyway, here's the other side, courtesy of a post at Pharyngula:

Greenland set a new heat record last week, 76.6F I think it was, hottest ever. Highs are high, but the real news in Arctic weather is the Lows are High. Each day you have a high and low temp, these low temps should be the battery if you will of cold temps, and the battery is running out of thermal units. This is the main reason arctic ice is melting at high rates in more areas than not, it is not getting that overnight chill to carry it over the next day.

This is a very good point, in general. High lows and low highs are often far more troubling signs of climate alteration than highs or lows themselves, and it is certainly in our interest to keep an eye on them wherever they are reported.

don't worry the EPA or shall we say "Green Police" will flex their muscle. They are already spying in farmers just to see how they can make some money off penalties.

"spying in farmers just to see how they can make some money off penalties."

Translated into English: enforcing the law. What an abomination. And let us not forget that the "farmers" we are talking about here are almost entirely huge multinational agribusiness corporations, not the people on Green Acres.

By the way, Anonymous, once again, you have utterly ignored the evidence I presented in my post, and gone off on an utterly unconnected rant. This kind of distraction may work for family pets and Conservatives, but it isn't that effective around here.
