And How About Another Step Toward Joining The Third World

A bill introduced by a Republican legislator in Missouri has this official summary:

"This act modifies the child labor laws. It eliminates the prohibition on employment of children under age fourteen. Restrictions on the number of hours and restrictions on when a child may work during the day are also removed. It also repeals the requirement that a child ages fourteen or fifteen obtain a work certificate or work permit in order to be employed. Children under sixteen will also be allowed to work in any capacity in a motel, resort or hotel where sleeping accommodations are furnished. It also removes the authority of the director of the Division of Labor Standards to inspect employers who employ children and to require them to keep certain records for children they employ. It also repeals the presumption that the presence of a child in a workplace is evidence of employment."

God in heaven above, what are these people trying to do to our country, and why are so many American totally blind to what should be obvious to the most casual observer?  This malicious idiot is outraged at the idea that government could make better decisions about children's welfare than their own parents.  Does that include the parents who would send their children out to work at the age of eight or nine, in order, as this person puts it, to "learn a work ethic?"  It is impossible to express what a bunch of lying hypocrites these people are, and how totally they are owned by the rich.

Idiots, why would anyone think to themselves when they get up in the morning: "You know what my state needs, more child employed sweat shops!"

And of course parents know what is best for their children, this is why child abuse never happens...

As for oversight, who needs it, no one has ever exploited child labor in this country...I think we all now know which class this person failed, repeatedly.
