Pushing the Smears

 You've all heard about the latest Rudy Giuliani generated smear of Joe Biden- one of the most degraded and yet ludicrous attacks to come from a party that consistently runs on nothing else.  I don't need to deal with that here; its stupidity and blatant falsehood have been covered thoroughly many other places.  I had thought of doing a wingnut wrapup about the inevitable refusal of Conservatives to take "you are an idiot" for an answer, but really, it would make such boring reading.  So I decided to list the posts that are up about this story at one single website, Gateway Pundit, one of the highest traffic political sites in existence, which was graced by Trump with White House press certification.  I don't think there is any point in getting into how idiotic they are, so let me just note that there are 14 of them.

You've all heard the claims about Joseph Goebbels saying that if you just repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.  Well, apparently that's the tactic they are going with.  And it will undoubtedly work with their base, who still believe there was some horrible crime at the basis of Benghazi or Hillary's e-mails, and that Donald Trump really never did have anything to do with Putin.

So the wingnuts are blasting faceBook and Twitter for censoring the New York Post accounts. Meanwhile they are all blogging and laughing about the crack pipe nap photo like it's red hot gossip.

CIA warns Trump that Russia will use the stooge Giuliani to flow disinformation into the talking points pipeline just as had been warned would happen. Trump shrugs his shoulders as if he can't be concerned and the next day he is at rallies trumpeting the smoking gun of Biden emails, "unearthed," by Giuliani's tireless research. The exciting October surprise. Surprise, surprise! The only people stupid enough to care are already firmly in the cult.

Hamas

  Of ocurse I am going to take the opportunity to talk about the Hamas attack on Israel.   First, I'd like to talk about my background, or baggage, regarding the country.   I have lived in Israel, some years ago.   This was not for religious reasons; I spent several months there working on a movie.   During pre-production, weeks of location scouting and shooting the movie, I was all over the country, and spent a fair amount of time in the West Bank, where we also shot.   This included a lot of places that normal tourists would not see, including predominantly Arab areas such as East Jerusalem, the Arab quarter of the old city, Ramla and the southern part of Jaffa, which is predominantly Arab.   It also included heavily Orthodox areas like Mea Shearim.   I dealt with Israeli Arabs, Palestinians and Bedouins.     Here are a few things I believe I learned there:   First of all, the Palestinians I knew were perfectly normal people with the same interest in living a safe, secure
