Independence Day!

No, not that one.   This one:
I hope you people have not forgotten that this season's long series of Washington Rallies to Bring Down the Democrats is finally ready to reach its culmination this Tuesday, with Larry Klayman's heralded new Independence day:

"Two hundred thirty-seven years after the original Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, in my hometown of Philadelphia, we are again at the threshold of revolution, and indeed this revolution will begin on our new independence day, Nov. 19, 2013, when the Reclaim America Now Coalition, supported by the masses who are being summoned to Washington, D.C., that day, reads our renewed Declaration of Independence at a demonstration across from the White House beginning at 10 a.m. in Lafayette Park."

At that time, demands will be presented to the government.  Among them are that Obama must resign and submit to a ten year prison sentence ordered by a "Citizens' Grand Jury" organized by Klayman, that the United States must attack Iran immediately, that taxes on rich people must be drastically lowered, and of course that Obamacare and the IRS must be abolished.

If their demands are not met, what will be the outcome?

"We the People...solemnly publish and declare, That these United States are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Abolished from all Allegiance to the current government's regime, and that all political connection between them and the current government, is and ought to be totally dissolved"

I.e. "we the people" solemnly declare that we are adhering to the United States' enemies, giving them aid and comfort: or to speak more bluntly, if we don't get our way, we will all become open traitors to the country we claim to revere, without a second of remorse about the moral bankruptcy of our position, when the government stands in the way of our paying lower taxes.

"...and that as Free and Independent States, We the People have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, We the People mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor to save our beloved nation and preserve the freedoms bequeathed to us by the Founding Fathers."

The freedoms "bequeathed to us" by the Founding Fathers; apparently when they created a document called the United States Constitution which specifically did away with all of that.

So, here it comes, the culmination of the right wingers' Fall of Discontent.  In their fantasies, it is going to result in the end of the United States of America, leaving in its place 50 States, each with the right to make war on the other 49.  This would quickly develop, I suspect, into something like the following:
Of course, what is really going to transpire on Tuesday is just one more occasion for Green Eagle to ridicule the wingnuts and their idiotic pretensions, and one more demonstration for the mainstream press to ignore that the entire "tea party" movement was never anything but a charade.  Still, the way things are going today, a cheap laugh isn't something to sneer at.

We have so many patriotic, but pro war, holidays. How about starting a movement for a Jeannette Rankin holiday?
The tea party has impressed me with their ability to attract both constitutional scholars as well as legal experts. Of the ones I have met, 100% of them assure me they qualify as both, with minors in taxation and minority studies.

And Joseph, would you like to estimate how many people in the United States have a clue who Jeanette Rankin is? Being for wars is the way to get a holiday in your name, not being against them, at least in this country.

Not sure I'd include WVa, IN, Missouri, and Nebraska in the "sane states" category on the map. Was thinking more like "Appalachia-stan" for the first three.

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I look forward to Green Eagle's post mortem. And photos! Lots of photos, I hope.

I'm sure this whole thing will go down as one of the great moments in American history, right up there with GW Bush throwing up on a Japanese official.
