Michelle Bachmann Strikes Another Blow for Truth

Via Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs, we learn that Michelle Bachmann had this to say when announcing her campaign for president today in Waterloo, Iowa:

"John Wayne was from Waterloo."

Almost right, Michelle.  Actually, John Wayne Gacy was from Waterloo, Iowa.

Ed Rollins is managing the
Bachmann campaign. Shrewd
operator, he got Reagan
reelected in '84...and we
saw the market drop 23% in one day a couple years after. Rollins can make
a scary ideologue look like a reasonable candidate. Bachmann has
already toned it down...
but its all still there.

Anonymous,

Do you think that Obama is either ignorant or stupid? I do think Bachmann is both, as well as massively dishonest. That is why when Obama makes a mistake, it means nothing, while when Bachmann or Palin tell another one of their endless stupid lies, it is a sign of massive inability to fill any significant government function.

I would like an answer to my question. because if you claim that Obama is either ignorant or stupid, you only reveal yourself to be a liar of the most unapologetic kind.

GE your response made absolutely no sense except for the obvious 'No problem when the president gaffes'

Of course I would expect nothing less of you than you saying Bachman is dishonest when you clearly are unapologetic for the president regardless of his lavish spending on trips ,parties and golf games.
But I guess the peasants enjoy seeing their king enjoy himself.
The real thing here is the left are going to try anything in their power to destroy Bachman and they will see to it that the Republican party does not have the first woman president. We can't have that,oh no because to the party of honesty it's not about real policy or real people but more about perception.

Bachman is spelt Bachmann.

But don’t worry she probably can’t spell it either.

and corpsman is pronounced "kor-man" not "korps-man" but don't tell that to the highly educated president.

"The party of honesty"...Hoo,Hoo Ha, ha, ha...my side hurts.

I have no doubt the party of Bush/Cheney and Bachmann/Palin could put her on the ballot.

Bring her on!

Anonymous,

Thanks for replying, but you carefully avoided answering my question. Do you deny either of the following:

1. Barack Obama is a very intelligent and well informed person

2. Michelle Bachmann has shown again and again that she is both horribly ignorant, and driven by an extremist agenda.

Anonymous doesn't make a distinction bebtween a gaffe--President Obama was talking about having visited 57 states, when it's obvious he ment 47 out of the 50. Also, unlike Bachmann, he didn't repeat the "57 states" gaffe.

So the president said "corpseman" instead of "corpsman?" Is that all you got?

Bachmann OTOH actually repeated the Lexington and Concord, New Hampshire, mistake not once, but twice, and from a written text. IOW, she didn't catch herself misspeaking and correct it. She repeated her glaringly dumb error.

Bachmann also repeated her stupid remarks about the Founding Fathers having worked tirelessly to end slavery. How did those words leave her brain and mouth? No one with any knowledge of American history would have uttered such idiocy.

And she continues with her ignorance and homophobic rot.

She's just the newest bright shiney object for the party that has descended into the crazy pit, pretending that witless charlatans have the right stuff to be president.

Good luck with that delusion.

"Barack Obama is a very intelligent and well informed person."

Maybe GE but more qualified to be a senior lecturer(which he does well) not necessarily president IMO but we are all entitled to our own opinion

2. Michelle Bachmann has shown again and again that she is both horribly ignorant, and driven by an extremist agenda.

Ignorant, hmmmmm. Now where did I hear that before? Oh yes on every MSNBC show and all over liberal blogs. Sounds like an echo chamber to me.

Extremist, hmmmm if you call getting government under control extreme then yes. But that is open to individual interpretation.
I find it rather refreshing. I Know she isn't as intelligent as Hillary who was getting shot at in Bosnia though.

Haha now that is funny Mr/Mrs Shaw. Did you come to this conclusion at 4:51 PM?

“government under control” is one of the empty catchphrases used to defend positions that would hand power to faceless corporations instead of elected representatives but….
I think it’s good you make your opinions known here Anon.
Often when some of the commenters here go to a site that is – shall we say… Right wing – they get called “traitor”, “deviant”, “scum”, “retard”, “terrorist lover”, “baby killer” … etc.
Here, you have actually been asked to clarify your position instead. You should note that.

You should also note that Bachmann evokes precisely some of these sorts of hate-terms in her political speech

“''(Gay marriage) is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years.” Forget a couple of wars and the threat of nuclear holocaust then… THAT was apparently of no consequence.

''Not all cultures are equal.'' Hitler would absolutely have agreed.

“…. to the point where she has said she has even said she is trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that 2,000 years ago.'' I know nothing of the sort but I know religious fanaticism does no-one any good.

''And what a bizarre time we're in, when a judge will say to little children that you can't say the pledge of allegiance, but you must learn that homosexuality is normal and you should try it.'' Huh?

''If we took away the minimum wage…” people could work for nothing

'The Lion King' for instance, and a teacher might say, 'Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?' The message is: I'm better at what I do, because I'm gay.'' Not because he’s a world famous artist that has sold millions of records over a career spanning decades, apparently.

“I just take the Bible for what it is, I guess, and recognize that I am not a scientist, not trained to be a scientist. I'm not a deep thinker on all of this. I wish I was. I wish I was more knowledgeable, but I'm not a scientist.” But she claims authority on whether climate change is real.

@Anonymous: Laugh up your sleeve all you want anonymous, but facts are facts.

Obama, during his presidential campaign, gaffed when he said that he had visited 57 states while on the stump.

Any idiot would understand that when he was talking about visiting the country while campaigning, he would mean 47 states, out of the 50.

That the conservatives use this meaningless gaffe as proof that Mr. Obama is dumb shows who the dumb really are.

"Sounds like an echo chamber to me."--Anonymous@7:15

Why yes. Yes it does, Mr./Mrs. Anonymous
