Has The Whole Country Gone Crazy?

Or just Texas?  This news just in:

"(HARDIN, Texas) - Deputies who swarmed a rural Texas neighborhood Tuesday to search a farmhouse where a person claiming to be a psychic told officials multiple bodies were buried found no evidence of even a single homicide, a sheriff's official says.

"We have to take tips like this very seriously,"  (Liberty County Judge Craig) McNair said."

You do?   You do have to take claims from self-appointed psychics seriously?  And why, exactly?

No, on second thought, don't tell me.  I don't really want to know.

The are some sane pockets in Texas, but mostly the people living in that state, starting with Governor Good Hair, are suffering from neural misfirings of the brain, probably brought on by their nasty habit of eating raw scorpions.

That's the only rational explanation I can come up with.

What the cops did here is actually of less interest to me than what the media did.

When this ‘news item’ was first presented to me on a radio broadcast there was absolutely no mention of a psychic, and it stated that 30 dismembered kid bodies HAD, in fact, been discovered.

This crud... went all the way from Texas to me - on the other side of the world - with apparently no-one checking the facts first - presumably from a grim Murdochesque determination to tell the day’s most disgusting story before anyone else does, even if it doesn't turn out to be true.

Wingnuts Slightly Annoyed about that $83 Million

How can you look like a decrepit old geezer and an out of control two year old at the same time?  And nobody hears it, is it really running for President at all? First of all, a note about my absence lately:  My wife got me to sign up for an account at Threads, which is sort of like X without the assholes.  I've spent a little time establishing myself there, and I have to say, I do like the relatively immediate exchange of views, but I don't mean to give up my blog- there are still so many things that can't be dealt with in a couple hundred words, so, perhaps to your dismay, I am back.
