THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA!!!!!

Green Eagle is pleased to be able to bring you this important announcement from Breitbart today:

"Exclusive — The Spirit of America: Conservative Grassroots Leaders Plan Massive Pro-Trump Demonstrations Nationwide...

Conservative grassroots leaders are planning a series of massive pro-President Donald Trump rallies nationwide, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.

On Feb. 27 and March 4, the rallies—dubbed the Spirit of America Rallies—will spring up nationwide in cities and towns across America...These rallies, organizers say, are meant to be a peaceful show of force from the “silent majority” that delivered Trump a landslide electoral college victory over failed Democratic president Hillary Rodham Clinton."

Well, let's just get this out of the way first.  Trump did not win a landslide victory, and Hillary is only a "failed Democratic President" on some other planet.

Anyway, pointing out the obligatory Breitbart lies out of the way, let's deal with the substance of this announcement.

Needless to say, Green Eagle will not forget this crowing.  Let's see who shows up on February 27 and March 4.  Maybe they will get more than the 50 that showed up for a pro-Trump rally the other day in New York, or the 8 that showed up in Portland, Maine. And maybe not.

The marches are being so heavily promoted by the right wing media- I already see posts about them at numerous wingnut websites, so they will probably get a few more people.  We can hardly wait.

Trump will probably hire a bunch of extras to show up just like he did for his presidential bid announcement.

and his whine-a-thon at the CIA and it looks like he did the same for Sessions's arrival at the Justice Department.

Let me share a bit of personal experience. I spent my career in film and TV production. On occasion, we would have to film a scene at, say, a baseball or football game, or other crowd event. Naturally, we would not pay for extras to fill the whole stadium. We'd get enough to fill a couple of sections of the stands, and move them around to be in the shot. This is exactly what I saw happen at so many tea party rallies. The Koch Brothers and Dick Armey's group, who between them paid for almost all of the tea party rallies, would not spend the money it would take to really have a huge crowd; they'd bring in a much smaller number of people, and then photograph them in a way to allow them to make grossly overblown claims about the number of people that attended. Expect the same thing to happen this time around.

We know that Trump is already packing official Presidential events, like his address to the CIA, with crowds of paid, cheering supporters. And we know that his diseased ego can't tolerate the thought of small crowds for him. Just be ready for grotesque exaggeration of the number of people here. Not to brag or anything, but I think I have compiled a pretty good record in estimating the size of crowds at political events, and I will certainly be on this one.

I understand much of his work has been beloved for decades. Having many of his films featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 will do that.

Wow you liberals really do live in your own little fantasy worlds dont you...seeing as the presidential election isnt a popularity contest so Trumps 30 states to Hillary's 20 or Trumps 2623 counties to Hillary's 489 means Trump wins and Hillary is a "failed" democrat president because she lost...
And to the comments about paid rally attendees there are far more paid protestors on the left, so much so that they post "help wanted" adds on craigslist and they also buss people in from other states to protest.
You liberals need to learn what projection is and how much you do it...

If it turns out that the crowds are so small that the evidence is undeniable even to wingnuts, watch for a focus shift at places like Townhall -- e.g., those who showed up were "spirited" in defense of their righteous cause, etc., etc.

John, you need to stop lying.

Hillary is not a "failed Democratic President" because she was never President, idiot.
Trump, after three weeks, is already a failed President because he does not have a clue what he is doing, and everything he does is a miserable failure.

And the paid liberal rally attendees is a preposterous lie, whereas we know for a fact that practically every Tea Party event was an astroturf Kabuki show paid for by either the Koch brothers or Dick Armey's black money group. Argue with me if you want, but prepare to have a fool made out of yourself, because I have a ten year online record of reporting about things like this, as well as a history of going to left wing demonstrations going back to the 1960's.

Oh, this is gonna be good. My guess is these little conclaves will look like all those times Larry Klayman overthrew the government. Not much to compare with the January 21 turnout of hundreds of thousands per major city.

Well, we all can't wait. I'm hoping there is one in my area so I can go and report personally. I live in L.A. where 750,000 turned out for the women's march, and possibly another couple hundred thousand (including my wife and myself) couldn't even get there, due to complete transportation gridlock. Let's see how they do.

Do you have either a favorite movie or a favorite MST3K episode?

I never really watched much MST3K, I'm afraid, as I always found it to be funny, and reminiscent of the legendary monster movie presenter Ghoulardi, who did the same thing in the 1960's. I was lucky enough to see him at the time, as he is universally agreed to be the best ever in his genre. I later worked on "There Will Be Blood" which was directed by his son, Paul Thomas Anderson.
