Where's the March?

May 16th, now less than two weeks away, has been promoted for months as the day that somewhere between two and ten million PATRIOTS!!!! are to show up in Washington to force Obama, Holder, Biden, Pelosi and other Democrats out of office, and place them on trial in front of a tribunal chosen by the patriots- all, they assure us, to be strictly in accord with the Constitution.

Well, Green Eagle, who as you know has an unhealthy interest in these inevitable humiliations, has been following the runup to the great day, and something strange is happening.  Starting around late March or so, there was less and less online in the way of posts about this event.  Some of their websites don't seem to have been updated in a couple of months, and the instructions to their millions of alleged followers have withered away.  And as far as I know, the coverage on Fox, normally a great source of free publicity for these idiots, has been nonexistent.

Now, when the Bundy ranch tantrum took place, and somewhere around 1200 or so wackos showed up to scream their defiance and wave their guns around, I thought that the Washington march might get quite a boost from the publicity.  But that doesn't seem to be happening.  Maybe large cells of militia members are preparing in utter secrecy, but that has never happened before among this notoriously loudmouthed group of bad citizens.

So, is this right wing march on Washington just going to be one more pathetic failure like the others I have reported on over the years, benefiting no one but the people that hopped on the bandwagon early and got off with pockets full of their fellow-travelers' money?  I'll be keeping my eyes open, and I'll get back to you.

Update:  Ask and ye shall receive:  Right Wing Watch has a post about the May 16th march, featuring one of the organizers suggesting that  Obama may very well strike the marchers with a drone attack:

"Terry Trussell, Operation American Spring’s chief of staff, told “Patriot Nation” host Mark Hoffmann last week that organizers are “expecting the unexpected,” including a drone strike. He noted, though, that a drone strike could reflect negatively on the administration: “When the government destroys the capital just to get rid of us, I think it’s going to work to their discredit.”

Man, this could be one fun weekend.

At about the time this event will be occurring my family will be having a birthday party for our teenage daughter.

It will most definitely not be on facebook or other social media and I doubt FOX will be giving it any attention. However I think it possible - likely even - that more high school kids will turn up for it than Right wing morons will turn up for American Spring.

I will be standing guard - heavily armed as usual with my cat and my face - at the front door to check names off. We'll see who gets better numbers.
