Wingnut Wrapup

Let me start out with a quote from Americablog:

"I will say that the level of vitriol, and outright lies, coming from the Romney folks, and the Republicans generally, have started to make me wonder if the GOP isn't already in panic mode about November election. "

I'm not ready to go there yet.  In fact, I must confess that, having grown up as a Cleveland Indians fan and never believing they were going to win even when they were up seven runs with two out in the bottom of the ninth (who says childhood psychological trauma can't scar you for life,) if Obama gets 420 electoral votes, I won't believe he won until about December 15th.  But that's just me.  On with the fun:

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "Team Obama Already Freaking Out Over Ryan Pick"

If by "freaking out," you mean jumping for joy.  Remember Sarah Palin's joke about "what's the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?  Lipstick..."   Well, you know what the difference between a pit bull and Paul Ryan is?  The pit bull was bred to be that way.  Paul Ryan is the way he is because he likes being a prick.

By the way, I've been following Katie's meteoric rise at Town Hall the last year or so.  Katie seems to be someone out of the Fox News school of commentators; i.e. a marginally good looking blonde willing to repeat whatever vile lies the right comes up with.  Worth keeping an eye on:

Isn't she cute?  Just what we need in this country, running our government based on the views of a 22 year old girl who has been groomed by Republicans for years to spout conservative crap.

Walter E. Williams, Town Hall:  "Here's my question: Why are the horrors of Nazism so well-known and widely condemned but not those of socialism and communism?"

Nazis- 50 million dead, millions of them exterminated in death camps.  Socialism- everyone gets medical care and retirement income.  I'll tell you what, Walter, I bet if you really think about it, even you can figure this one out.

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "The Moment All the Doubts About Romney Resurfaced on the Right...Defending Romney and combatting the ad, Romney spokesman Andrea Saul . . . “To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care,”

Yeah, people would have had health care.  What better reason for Conservatives to turn on Romney?  If he's going to wreck their pleasure in watching their fellow Americans die in agony, what good is he to the right?

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "Barack Obama is a Murderer"

A wonderful example of the sort of reporting that earned Erick his job at CNN.  Liberal press, right.

David P. Goldman, Pajamas Media:  "When Does Religion Become Illegal?"

In case you need a hint, this article is illustrated with a picture of the Ka'aba.

Madhav Khandekar, PJ Media:  "Climate Catastrophe or Media Hype?"

Oh, hype for sure.  I mean, aren't two thirds of the counties in the United States classified as disaster areas every summer?

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Hannity Interviews Obama Classmate Wayne Allyn Root on President’s Mysterious Columbia Years "

This is all over the right wing blogosphere these days.  Of course, this particular Obama "classmate" never even met Obama at Coulumbia, but his story is entirely credible, right?  After all, he has provided the absolutely convincing evidence that "his gut" tells him that something is wrong with Obama.  That certainly more than passes the right wing test for reliability.

Breitbart.com:  "Tag Team: Reid, White House Work Together to Attack Romney on Taxes "

The dirty dogs!  Two Democrats working together on the re-election campaign.  That's soooo unfair!

Ann Coulter, Town Hall:  "Liberals' Secret Weapon: Republicans Who Don't Read...Fifty years from now, everyone will agree that Karl Rove committed treason by revealing the identity of CIA "spy" Valerie Plame, tea partiers shouted the N-word at a black congressman and Duke lacrosse players gang-raped a stripper."

Ann, I hate to break it to you, but everyone but you forgot about the Duke lacrosse players a few years ago.  As to the other two things you cite, let's hope people believe them- they're true.  Choke on that, sweetie.

Hugh Hewitt, Town Hall:  "Mitt Romney came on my radio show yesterday and fielded question after question on the burgeoning controversy over President Obama’s plans to gut the work requirement for welfare."

I wonder if you guys also discussed President Obama's plans to have lizard people from outer space eat the Republican members of Congress, since that is exactly as true as your lie about "President Obama’s plans to gut the work requirement for welfare."  Nice work as usual, Hugh.

John Ransome, Town Hall:  "When an Insufferable Blowhard Runs Out of Money This is What it Looks Like"

John is spreading the usual Republican lies about Obama again.  Well, we will never have to see this scenario play out for the truly insufferable Mitt Romney.  If he runs out of money, he'll just buy a company, fire all its employees and loot their pension fund.  After all, that's how he got rich the first time.

Repair Man Jack, Red State:  "I can’t imagine anything much that could diminish Barack Obama further as a human being."

He could become a Republican.  There's always that.

And now, the preposterous delusion of the week, from a comment on a World Net Daily post:

"Rupert Murdock is firmly in the pocket of George Soros"

Man, someone is off his meds.

Next, the Black Is White award:

Ethel C. Fenig, American Thinker:  "Environmentalism is unhealthy for the planet"

You can't make this stuff up.  Luckily we don't have to make it up here at Green Eagle- the Republicans kindly provide all we can handle for free.

And finally, the leading contender for the "La La La I Can't Hear You I Have My Fingers In My Ears" trophy"

Mike Flynn, Breitbart.com:  "CNN Is Just Making Up Poll Numbers Now"

Apparently, a lot of other people are making up the same numbers, Mike.  It's all just a great big conspiracy.  Keep telling yourself that.  Then in November, you can tell yourself that Obama stole the election by having dead people vote.  That's pretty much the plan, right?

Astute Bloggers:  " IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO WAS SMART ENOUGH NOT TO PAY ANY TAXES FOR THE LAST TEN YEARS, THEN...LET'S ELECT HIM PRESIDENT."

How about Charlie Manson?  I hear he hasn't paid taxes for the last ten years.

Newsmax:  "Dick Cheney’s Secret: How to Stop Obama"

Shoot him in the face?

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "The One Thing You Need to Know About the Democrat Plan to Attack Paul Ryan...

"@BarackObamaFACT: Paul Ryan would end Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher program, costing seniors up to $6,350 a year.

This was merely an official tweet from Barack Obama, but Democrats have been promoting this for years. No matter how many organizations analyze this framing of the Ryan plan as "ending Medicare as we know it," the Democrats will cling to something that they think works."

God, the Democrats are going to tell the truth!  They're descending into the gutter already!

Doug Giles, Town Hall:  "Progs – "Mitt Romney Is the Worst Human Ever, Ever, Ever"

Lying again, Doug.  See, on the left side of the political spectrum, we haven't forgotten about Dick Cheney.  By the way, readers, do I even need to tell you that Dougie couldn't find a single example of a progressive saying any such thing?  I bet you are so surprised, given his reputation for honesty and serious journalism.

Rick Moran, PJ Media:  "The left will attempt to tie Ayn Rand's Objectivist philosophy around Ryan's neck and drag him down."

Ryan already tied Ayn Rand around his neck.  The left will only be trying to get the mainstream press to notice the corpse hanging there.

Roger Kimball, PJ Media:  "The Comeback Team...I’ve been saying for some time now that Romney will beat Obama by a landslide. His choice of Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as a running mate makes me even more confident that Romney will trounce Mr. Hope ’n Change."

The comeback team?  Oh, so you admit that up until now, Romney has been losing?

Bridget Johnson, PJ Media:  "Romney: Ryan Is 'an Intellectual Leader of the Republican Party'

Sort of like saying that Moe is the intellectual leader of the three stooges.

Tara Servatius, American Thinker:  "Ryan Pick Targets Key Demographic "

Yeah, stupid people.  The key demographic for Republicans.

Moe is the intellectual leader of the three stooges.

And unlike Larry, the Republicans never ask, "Where's your dignity?"

Ann can't forget the Duke lacrosse players - they turned her down.
"Ryan Pick Targets Key Demographic "
Yea, well played, his pick nailed down that elusive straight reichwing ticket voter.

Katie Pavlich will very likely end up at Fox. She certainly fits the profile. But I'm less convinced that Guy Benson, one of her Townhall colleagues is destined for wingnut superstardom. Although he appears to be a "True Believer," he is obviously bright and shows occasional flashes of sanity. I have a hunch that in a few years he'll be on the other side, embarrassed about his past associations.

Well,it has happened before- for example Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, or David Brock or Norman Ornstein.

I'm sure we in the reality based community will welcome him if he is sincere.
