Republicans Reach Moderate Compromise

The day after repudiating Representative Akin's ignorant and malicious comments about rape and pregnancy, the Republicans have announced the abortion plank in their platform:

"Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Republicans drafting their party's official policy platform on Tuesday ratified a call for a Constitutional ban on abortion that makes no exceptions for rape or incest.
The vote to endorse the party's long-standing opposition to abortion and support for a "human life amendment" took place at a meeting of the GOP's official platform committee in Tampa, the site of next week's Republican National Convention."

What a wonderful move forward.  Their position is not "women can't get pregnant from rape," but the eminently understandable "okay, women can get pregnant from rape, but we don't give a damn."  Good work, guys.

Now that the Missouri rape expert won't leave, (or so it appears), now the GOP has to come back around and help him win, they sure as hell can't let someone with a vagina beat him. How they use the language to fix this, to get a used rubber back on, this is going to make people spit.

Let's just hope it makes enough people spit to cause him to lose. A lot of those people out there in the center of the country seem to have so lost their moral compass that they actually are reveling in the misery of others, and this jerk's deliberate lies may help him get their votes.

How about you letting the victim decide what to do with the crime against her own person, and the implications it has for the REST OF HER LIFE.

How about you conceding that it's NOT a baby yet. In fact it's not even a fetus yet.

How about you conceding that you don't give a shit about the pre-fetus anyway, and that what you're merely doing is regurgitating hate-filled Right-wing cant designed to give a bone-headed simpleton's response utterly devoid of compassion or even a fleeting atom's worth of thought for the victim...

Wingnuts Slightly Annoyed about that $83 Million

How can you look like a decrepit old geezer and an out of control two year old at the same time?  And nobody hears it, is it really running for President at all? First of all, a note about my absence lately:  My wife got me to sign up for an account at Threads, which is sort of like X without the assholes.  I've spent a little time establishing myself there, and I have to say, I do like the relatively immediate exchange of views, but I don't mean to give up my blog- there are still so many things that can't be dealt with in a couple hundred words, so, perhaps to your dismay, I am back.
