Wingnut Wrapup

Yes, Green Eagle has been neglecting his duty to ruin your day with selected tidbits of right wing thinking.  He admits his failing, and is back on the job, so heeeere we go!

Town Hall:  "Donald Rumsfeld: 'I Feel Privileged to Have Served' "

Well, Donald, we do not feel privileged for having had you serve.  Deal with it.

Town Hall:  "Friday Fun: Jon Stewart Slams Obama for Solyndra Implode"

Nothing funny about this; I just wanted to point out again how inconceivable right wingers find it that liberals would ever disagree with their leaders.  Nothing like that allowed among Republicans.

Pat Buchanan, Town Hall:  "The Democracy Worshipers ...At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Hamilton explained: "Real liberty is not found in the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments. If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy, or some other form of dictatorship."

"we shall soon shoot into a monarchy..."   What a comforting thought that must be to you, Pat.

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "Memo to Liberals: Yes, The 2009 'Stimulus' Failed"

Well, Guy, if by "failed," you mean "failed to generate well over two million jobs, or two thirds as many as Bush managed to generate in his whole eight years,"well, you're lying.  What a surprise that would be.  On the other hand, I'd have to agree with you if you meant "failed to undo the virtually total destruction of the economy caused by Republican economic policy."  There...satisfied, now that we've straightened things out?

Brad Jackson, Red State:  "Solyndra Scandal Looks More and More Like Obama’s Watergate"

Yeah, to the same people who thought the last two hundred or so Obama "scandals" were Obama's Watergate.  What an optimist you are...you see a gigantic pile of horse poop, and you immediately assume that there must be an excuse for another impeachment in there somewhere.

Daniel Horowitz, Red State:  "We the People: A Constitutional Republic, Not a Democracy"

Well, thanks, Daniel, for making it clear that you guys aren't that into democracy.  Actually, we've known that for a while, but still, it's nice to hear it put so bluntly.

Bob Owens, Pajamas Media:  "Gunwalker Linked to Three More Murders"

Funny, when three murders are linked to guns that passed through a misguided government sting, it's an outrage calling for immediate punishment, but when thousands of murders are linked to guns put in circulation through gun show loopholes, that's just free enterprise in action, and "guns don't kill, people do."

Paul Cooper, Pajamas Media:  "Will the arrival of school choice in the Hoosier State shatter the government's education monopoly?"

What you have failed to grasp, Paul, is that it is not a "monopoly," it's a "responsibility."  It is our duty to see that all kids get a quality education, not just our own.  Of course, responsibility is not something you're big on, is it?  Except for the responsibility of poor and middle class people to pay the cost of theft by the rich, of course.

Tom Blumer, Pajamas Media:  "Food Stamps: A Microcosm of Out-of-Control Government"

How dare those poor people think they have a right to eat?

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Far Left Wisconsin Thug Turns Himself In After Accosting 3 GOP Reps"

And what murderous assault was this violent thug guilty of?

"26-year-old Miles Kristan walked into the police department downtown around 5:30 p.m. He spoke with police officers, who gave him a ticket for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor."

But wait- the horror doesn't end there:

"Protesters were violently wrenched out of the Wisconsin State Assembly on Tuesday for silently filming legislators.  The filming by citizens in the Assembly chambers violates the current rules of the Assembly, however protesters believe Wisconsinites have a right to use their cameras as a form of free speech guaranteed by the Wisconsin state constitution.

These leftists are dangerous."

Dangerous.  Filming their State legislature.  More dangerous, I guess, than the right winger that shot Gabrielle Giffords..  Keep alerting us to the danger facing our country, Jim.  You're doing such a great service.

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "Many people call it Government Motors these days. General Motors has been a government slush fund to reward unions and other Democratic loyalists since the Obama Administration arrived in Washington."

Gee, and here I thought saving a million and a half jobs and preserving one of the greatest of American corporations was a good thing.  Silly me.  I guess the Republicans would rather that we drive Toyotas.

Jeannie DeAngelis, Renew America:  "we presently live in a culture so saturated with political correctness that many fail to notice that those who murdered our brethren now occupy seats of honor at their funerals."

Really?  Those 19 guys in the airplanes?  Who Knew?  And here I thought they were all dead, and too busy with their 70 virgins to go to a funeral.  Thanks, Jeannie, for letting us know that they all parachuted to safety.  I hope you've communicated this information to the FBI, which will be so interested in how you know this.

Oh, wait a minute...never mind.  When Jeannie talked about "those who murdered our brethren" she meant President Obama and Joe Biden.  Well, that's different.  Those two guys are still alive.  Too bad, in your opinion, huh, Jeannie?

Jim Kouri, Renew America:  "Obama's anti-Wall Street rhetoric blamed for mounting protests"

It has nothing to do with the fact that Wall Street stole all of our money.  Oh no, it's all Obama's fault.  Just like everything else.

Lloyd Marcus, Renew America:  "McGinniss book about Palin: yet another attack on America...What did Palin specifically say to prompt such immediate visceral hatred from the left? I have come to realize the answer is her celebration of God, family, and country.  The left is repulsed by all things decent, godly, and patriotic"

What? And it's not that she is an ignorant, self-serving, lying demagogue who will do and say anything to get what she wants, no matter how much damage it does to the rest of us?  Who knew?

And now, the Stupid Idea of the Decade:

Joseph Farah, World net Daily:  "However, there is something Sarah Palin could do right now that would be truly radical – and, at the very least, bloody Barack Obama so badly he wouldn't have a hope of beating the Republican nominee.  What's that?  Sarah Palin should reregister as a Democrat and announce her intention of seeking the Democratic Party nomination in 2012 over Barack Obama!"

The most unpopular major political figure in the country.  Yeah, she'd really damage Obama.  Joseph, why not admit the truth- you'd do anything to blame the Democrats for her, too.

Finally, a special citation for civilized presentation of right wing lies (warning: not for kids)

Astute Bloggers:  "BILL KELLER BLAMES BUSH:  "Unfunded wars, supply-side deficits, twin housing and banking crises enabled by an orgy of regulatory permissiveness — that was the legacy Obama assumed."
HEY BILL, I GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU - YOU TRAITOROUS F*CKING PIECE OF S*IT MORON:
ARE BUSH'S UNFUNDED WARS, AND HIS ORGY OF REGULATORY PERMISSIVENESS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UNAFFORDABLE SOVEREIGN DEBTS OF GREECE, OR PORTUGAL, OR SPAIN, OR ITALY, OR IRELAND!?  NOPE.  OF COURSE NOT.

Of course, they were not Bush's fault.  They were Obama's fault.  We all know that, right?  And I suppose you have never heard of a little known historical event called the "great depression," which started right here on Wall Street in the good ol' U.S. of A, and took down economies all over the world?  Read up on it, O Astute Ones.  Nothing like a little obscure knowledge to help you understand things.

Well, enough already.  Bye for now.

Good to see WW back. I do take issue with your blanket condemnation of Rumsfeld however. I've found one of his memes especially useful in excusing my failings: I just say "I went the the Viper Room with the band I had."

Your comment on my Pajamas Media article had little to do with what the article is about. If you read it you will see it is a balanced article that looks at both sides. I have a feeling you just read the "monopoly" question. Which I didn't write btw, it was posted by an editor. Please read the article next time before you rip into someone. I know you are going for snarky, but some basic politeness is still a good thing.
