Is this so surprising? Really? The disregard of the golden rule seems to be what gives legs to the candidacy of these Christian contenders. The more it is dismissed, the better they do.
Romney has made a career out of disregarding it. I don't know of anything he has done to end human suffering. He's not even making claims that it is part of his agenda. These people admire him for it.
