Jim Marshall died today, at 88.

Back then, Marshalls were the only amps Jimi could turn up to "11" without destroying. Sunn and Fender tried providing amps for him, but they couldn't take the volume.

Also, have you noticed Jimi would prefer Gibsons (SG, Flying V, even a Les Paul in one photo) for his blues, and a Strat for the cosmic stuff?

I watched the whole Jimi piece. Interesting to see a video that's not of a famous song. Just stretching out. Such a personal relationship to the guitar and electricity.
