Do You Believe A Word Of It?
I listened to today's Congressional hearing about Trump's treason. It featured Trump staffer after Trump staffer getting on the stand and swearing under oath that they told Trump every step of the way that his election fraud claims were utterly false.
Great. Of course, there is no real evidence besides their own claims that while it was happening, they did a damned thing to stand up to Trump.
So we have a pack of known Republican liars, from Bill Barr on down, swearing that they told Trump the truth. Why should we believe one word of what they are saying? We know they have no respect for the truth, or the law, or anything else except their own survival. These people willingly participated in the worst abuse of Presidential power in this country's history. Now, they want to wriggle out of any responsibility for their treachery, through the simple means of lying before a Congressional committee, and claiming they were all so against Trump.
Bullshit. They were liars then, and I believe they are liars now. It would be convenient if what they said were true, because it would show (one more time) what a corrupt liar Trump is, but I think they are desperate to save whatever tatters of reputation they have left, and avoid being destroyed by Trump's insanity, as so many have been before. I don't believe a word of it. Basically, I am afraid that all the committee did today was give a pack of Republican seditionists a public forum to run away from their treachery.
