Headline Today
"Mugabe resigns under military pressure after 37 years as Zimbabwe’s leader"
I just wonder if we will be reading a similar headline about Donald Trump in another 36 years.
In the meantime, stories that don't deserve much coverage, I guess:
Trump collected $107 million for his inauguration, more than twice the amount ever collected before, even though it was run with a very small number of people. Where is the rest of the money? People are asking, but no one will tell.
Trump is planning to appoint a lawyer with a long history of working for vote suppression to run the 2020 census.
The FCC is set to do away with net neutrality rules as early as next week, allowing internet service providers to decide which sites they want to carry, and which they want to ban.
Fox News legal expert Jeannine Piro caught driving 119 miles an hour in a 65 mile zone. She says that she was going to see her mother and didn't realize that she was driving over the speed limit. If she had already seen her mother and was trying to get away, I might buy it. I mean, how creepy would a woman have to be to produce a daughter like Jeannine Piro?
Trump administration to end humanitarian protections for 50,000 Haitians by July 2019. Remember a couple of years ago when Republicans were savaging the Clinton foundation for going down to Haiti and trying to help out there, and not having much luck? Better to just let Haitians die, and I guess I don't have to explain the reasoning behind that choice.
A State Department “dissent” memo said Rex Tillerson breached the Child Soldiers Prevention Act when he decided in June to exclude Iraq, Myanmar, and Afghanistan from a U.S. list of offenders in the use of child soldiers. This was despite the department publicly acknowledging that children were being conscripted in those countries. Can't make money from countries that we banned for the pathetic reason that they are making children fight in their armies.
An Alabama police chief accused Roy Moore's Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, of having sexually molested him when he was a minor. The story was revealed within 24 hours to be a total, malignant lie, at which point, of course, the police chief claimed it was all a joke. Well, don't worry, this Republican official got a 2 week suspension. That's enough for something like this, right?
And all in one day in Republican America. There will be this many sickening stories tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that, and every day until being a Republican is a class A felony, or the country collapses. I'm betting on the latter, but then, Green Eagle always was sort of a pessimist.

I'll be very surprised if he makes it to the age of 107.
