Wingnut Wrapup

Well, I discovered the following from an article at Newsmax:

"Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy is open to discussing changing the names of U.S. bases named after Confederate leaders."

You need hardly think too deeply to guess the outrage that possibility is raising on the right.  I won't get into the text of this article, but I thought you might like to see some of the comments this has elicited.  So, here goes:

BigSkyTexan:  "Makes me want to puke. Our military is clueless to the internal Marxism they bend the knee to with this renaming. "against all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC" What a joke. Our military has become the enemy."

So just what kind of enemy of our army were the Confederates?  Foreign or domestic?  Mr. BigSky never makes that clear.

Watcher:  "leave the names as they are, their contribution to the Nation and the Army at large is why these installations were named for these soldiers in the first place"

Their "contribution" to the nation and the army consisting of murdering 350,000 patriotic soldiers in order to preserve the most degraded human practice on earth.

tribuneoftheplebes:  "So now we are going to rewrite and revise hundreds of years of American History in order to cowardly APPEASE a bunch of arrogant, radical vengeful REVERSE RACISTS?"

I think the rewriting happened a century ago when muddleheaded people allowed Southerners to pretend that they were anything but murderous traitors.  Time to set the record straight, once and for all.  And that does not include treating people who betrayed our country as heroes.

Louis:  "The bases were named after great military minds and strategists, not to honor the confederacy."

Then maybe we should name one after Erwin Rommel.  No, don't answer that.  I'm afraid what you would say.

And now, let's move on from these jackass commenters to the usual professional liars:

AWK News:  "All this corruption coming out against the democrats,, will most likely cause Trump to win all 50 states…."

Corruption coming out against the Democrats.  Too bad they couldn't think of any to back up that claim.  Well, here's an answer to our problems from AWK News:

'About Time these Reporters were Arrested for Sedition."

Don't worry people, your Attorney General is on it.

"The riots have shown how quickly the left-wing mob can mobilize and how far their reach has grown in the past few years."

Again partly right.  The crowds arrayed against you, Matt, are massive.  Of course, you are lying when you talk about riots and mobs, and even with the looters, unless you count getting a new pair of sneakers as being "ready for war," in which case you have a strange idea of what war is.

"Protesting to re-open is grounded in white nationalism, but protesting against racism, which I've been told is just as bad as this COVID pandemic, is good. That's pretty much the baseline. It's appallingly biased, transparent, and pandering."

"Protesting to re-open" means showing up at State legislatures with assault rifles to terrorize legislators into doing what you want, on behalf of rich guys who paid for you to be there.  Spontaneous protests against racism all over the country are hardly the same thing.  And no, they were not financed by the all-powerful George Soros, or Hillary Clinton, or anyone else.  But right wingers just will not see the difference between protest of injustice, and manufactured, violent tantrums if wingnuts don't get their way.

Katy Kiefer, Town Hall:  "Why Do So Many Christians Vote Democrat?"

She doesn't understand that.  Katy, it's because there are still some Christians left who have read the words of Jesus and  believe in them.  The real question is how people calling themselves Christians can vote Republican without being struck by lightning.

“I swore an oath to uphold the laws of our nation,” President Trump said on June 1 before visiting John’s Episcopal—and holding up his Bible"

"Visiting," being Katie's term for tear-gassing the priests and driving them out of the church before having the property seized by troops so he could stand in front of it and pander to his base.

Salena Zeto, Town Hall:  "Revisiting William McKinley's Victory Through the Lens of 2020"

Ha.  Who would waste time reading that?

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "While there should have been protests, that has long passed.  It’s time to put the mob down and restore law and order."

See, it is possibly okay to hold a brief protest about racism or murderous police, but enough is enough already.  You have no right to keep it up until something actually changes.  No, time to forget about it and get back to letting Republicans rape the country.

"It’s becoming clear that more and more black voters are not happy with the Democratic Party and are starting to ask why they should support them."

A Republican line that we are hearing a lot these days:  It's actually the Democrats that black people don't like.  Never a shred of fact to support that blatant lie, unless you count that Rasmussen poll a few days ago that "showed" Trump's support among black voters was actually higher than his support among all Americans.  But when you have been trained since birth to believe that the world is 6,000 years old and a man lived inside a fish, you have been primed to believe anything.

And now, the bad historical analogy of the day:

Clint Fargeau, Red State:  "Antifa and Black Lives Matter: The Return of the Spanish Inquisition"

Clint's argument has something to do with Antifa and Black Live Matter being products of the failure of liberalism and the triumph of Conservatism.  Not really clear how that relates to the Spanish Inquisition, unless you buy this nonsense:

"These two interrelated organizations crusade to clease the country of racial evil and whip up suggestible persons into declarations of faith, public demonstrations of orthodoxy, and cooperation in the defeat of a dubious heresy epidemic (“systemic racism”). Paranoia and hysteria obtains everywhere one turns."

Because, of course, cleansing Spain of racial evil was exactly what the Spanish Inquisition was about, and if it were, it would apparently be a very bad thing.  And Cliff ends with a masterful act of Republican projection:

"Liberalism in the United States shows every sign of decadence and collapse: a growing tolerance for corruption and hypocrisy, an appetite for authoritarian tactics of suppression, and wholesale manipulation of the public’s reality to keep them in the dark."

Well, at least we haven't yet elected a human-toad hybrid to run the country.

Mike Ford, Red State:  "Opinion: We Didn’t Hire Donald Trump to Be a Uniter"

That's for fucking sure.  Unless Mike is talking about uniting with Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.

Jack Dunphy, PJ Media:  "There's More to the Story of the 'Elderly' Protester Knocked Down by Buffalo Police Than You're Being Told"

Of course there is: more Republican lies.  Which we will probably still be hearing decades from now, like the Clinton death list, or Benghazi.

Tyler O'Neal, PJ Media:  "Justice Is Coming: 'As Many as 16-17' Obamagate Criminal Referrals Headed to DOJ"

QAnon schizophrenia moves into the mainstream Conservative press.  Unfortunately, despite there being zero truth to these charges, it may well be happening:

"As America reopens from coronavirus lockdowns and protests and riots engulf American cities, Attorney General William Barr is hard at work on Obamagate."

What a constructive use of his time in this era of multiple national disasters.  I have suggested before that in the runup to the election, we are likely to see multiple false indictments of Democratic leaders coming from this unrepentant criminal.  Get ready for it, as surely as we are going to hear in October from a number of women paid to accuse Biden of sexual predation.  That's their only hope to win the election, and no matter how disgusting it is, that is what they are going to do.

Jeff Reynolds, PJ Media:  "INSURRECTION: Civil Rights Leader Shelby Steele to Mark Levin: 'Blacks Have Never Been Less Oppressed'"

"Civil rights leader" Shelby Steele.  Here are a couple more quotes from Shelby Steele:

"In the end, black power can claim no higher moral standing than white power"
"For many on the left a hateful anti-Americanism has become a self-congratulatory lifestyle.
"The left’s unspoken terror is that racism is no longer menacing enough to support its own power...[T]he left gets power from fighting white evil, not black despair."

Another example of taking their own miserable sellout tools like Jonathan Turley and Alan Dershowitz and claiming they are liberals when they spout right wing lies.

Christina Laila, Gateway Pundit:  "New York Police Boss Goes Off on Media: ‘Stop Treating Us Like Animals and Thugs and Start Treating us with Respect’

Stop acting like animals and thugs.

Mychael Massie, World Net Daily:  "I'm sick of the 'black lives matter' blather"

I bet you are.  Too bad.  We're sick of pigs like you lying to the world every day.

World Net Daily:  "Deep State continues to hide its dark, anti-Trump scheme"

WND can't find a shred of evidence that this "anti-Trump scheme" exists, which doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, just that those evil liberals are so good at hiding it.  By the way, there is indeed a massive "anti-Trump scheme" going on in this country, which is led by the Democratic party, and currently has their candidate up by double digits in this evil plot to remove him from office by defeating him in November.  An evil plot, because not wanting Trump to be President is treason.

And of course, haven't you just been waiting for this story?

Mike Adams, Natural News:  "FALSE FLAG ALERT: Obama Foundation tweeted about George Floyd on May 17th, a week before his supposed murder"

Well, of course, no they didn't.  But Mike isn't done yet:

Mike Adams, Natural News:  "PSYOP? George Floyd “death” was faked by crisis actors to engineer revolutionary riots, video authors say...

at least one of the “police officers” was actually a hired crisis actor who has appeared in other staged events in recent years.
the black man depicted in the viral videos is not, in fact, an individual named George Floyd.
the responding medical personnel were not EMTs but were in fact mere crisis actors wearing police costumes.
The person who took the first viral video from directly behind the vehicle reportedly driven by George Floyd was a “camera man plant” who parked suspiciously close to Floyd’s vehicle in order to get video footage that would later be released to the public to spark the riots."

Those damn crisis actors.  They're everywhere.  And a "camera man plant."  A new species to me. I wonder if it will grow in my area.  If you need more specific information:

Before it's News:  "Actor Ben Bailey Played Derek Chauvin in Arrest"

Because of course we believe that.  Anyway, back to Mike Adams:

"Yet another video says that the name “George Floyd” was faked. It is an anagram for “Edge of Glory,” the title of a Lady Gaga album that promotes globalist messages against humanity. Lady Gaga is also pushing covid-19 vaccine mandates along with Bill Gates and the WHO."

Lady Gaga.  Mike ends with the following, which I am not sure follows from the above:

"A dangerous obedience cult is now rapidly sweeping across America, resembling Nazi fanatacism"

It sure is, buddy, but it's not coming from the left.

A technical note:  For an unknown reason, blogger is refusing to allow me to place any photos in my posts, even the one from Monty Python I was going to use to illustrate the comment about the Spanish Inquisition.  I have contacted them about this, but have heard nothing in return.  Hopefully it will not last long, or I will have to switch to another platform.

Have you tried something innocuous, like a shot of a donkey?

I can just see the meeting at Satanic Illuminati headquarters: ".....and when we stage the fake murder, we need to make the alleged victim's name an anagram of a Lady Gaga album."

The mind reels at imagining what kind of people could believe all this stuff. The result of generations of people shagging their sisters?

I did a post Thursday afternoon and the picture-adding thing was glitchy. I had to sign out of Blogger and back in to get it to work. Maybe there's an intermittent fault of some kind.

Infidel, your comment reminds me of an old question that is often discussed in law schools, or so I've heard. If two people get married in Arkansas, and then move to Canada and get divorced, are they still brother and sister?

re: "...Antifa and Black Live Matter being products of the failure of liberalism and the triumph of Conservatism..."

In my former life before I experienced a stroke, I was a political reporter in the Twin Cities. Being african american, a local conservative "think tank,' Center of the American Experiment, invited me to cover a large luncheon where they had black token Jason Reed speaking to an all-white audience.

I guess they were expecting favorable coverage, but they wouldn't grant my request to speak to Reed afterward, instead making their founder, Mitch Pearlstein available to answer questions I would have asked Jason.

He tried to softsoap and gaslight me. I let him think he was getting away with it.

Then I started asking him questions and watched his face turn redder and redder. He's bald--even the top of his head was getting redder.

He almost literally choked on his coffee when I asked "Why is 'the failure of liberalism' not more rightly regarded as the triumph of racism?"

He couldn't argue the point, and it was one of the most fun interviews I ever conducted. They never asked me to cover another event.

Isaac, nobody ever asks me to cover anything. If you've read my comments, you can see why.
