Well, At Least Something Good Is Coming from Trump's Tariffs

From the Washington Post today:

"A ‘Bible tax’: Christian publishers warn that China tariffs could lead to costly Bibles"

These days, you have to be thankful for any good news that comes along.

"Trump’s proposed tariffs on $300 billion in Chinese-made products would affect books and other printed materials, according to Bloomberg. That includes Bibles, which are overwhelmingly printed in China because of the specialized technology and skills they require to produce."

"Specialized technology and skills!"  Only available in China!

I wonder what Chinese technology and skill was required to produce this bible, about 570 years ago in Germany:

The bible is just about the most printed book in world history.  Who knew that every edition was printed in China?

Funny that the same "Christians" that go on a nationwide screaming fit whenever someone suggests that they don't have the right to deny employment to people because of their religion, are willing to go to China to get the products they sell.  Because "specialized technology," i.e. as we all know damned well, consists of a cheaper workforce, no matter what religion they have.  And these "Christians" don't even care that any sentient human being knows that they are lying, and that this is all about greed.

Oh well, enough time wasted on this subject.

The Chinese did print Mao's "red book", which ran in close competition with the bible. Seems like sensible outsourcing. /s

When I was active in anti-Vietnam protests, I used to carry a copy of the little red book in my pocket to all demonstrations. This was because we were plagued with right wing Evangelical Christians who wanted to waste all of our time blabbing at us about Jesus. When they would pull out their bibles and start reading to us, I would do the same with the little red book. You never saw a more effective strategy for getting rid of them.

A guy started pushing Jesus on me at a venue last night, and I threatened to call security! Shut him up. I told him, one more word....lol.

Here's an interesting list of typographical errors in various printings of the Bible.

I think Donald Trump must have one of the remaining versions of the Wicked Bible, as well as a copy of the Sin On Bible.
