Wingnut Wrapup- FBI Raid Edition

As I have said, I have pretty much given up on Wingnut Wrapup because, as is the case with fascist movements everywhere, the American right has been bullied into doing nothing but spouting their leaders' line, and with Trump, that has grown so boring and repetitious that I can't bear forcing it on people.  However, the response to yesterday's FBI raid on Trump's Bond-Villain lair at Mar-a-Lago has been so over the top that I thought I would make an exception, and publish a sample of right wing commentary about this probably long-overdue action.  So, here we go...

Spencer Brown, Town Hall:  "New Details About Judge Who Approved Mar-A-Lago Raid Raises All Sorts of Red Flags"

Anything to deflect attention from an action against an American President whose criminality is without parallel in our whole history.

"Reinhart's resume includes previously quitting his job with the U.S. Attorney's office — which was prosecuting crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein — in order to start a private practice"

He left a government job to start his own company.  Normally, Republicans would be cheering this to the rafters, but suddenly it is a proof that he is an evil monster.  But wait- there's more:

"Adding to the questionable reputation for Judge Reinhart are his political campaign donations. Per FEC records, Reinhart donated $1,000 to Barack Obama in 2008 and $500 to Jeb Bush in 2015. "

He donated $1,000 to Barack Obama, and what's worse, he donated to JEB BUSH!!!!!!!  Nobody that donates to a Democrat, or even a Republican that ran against Trump, has a right to be a judge, or even to be alive, I guess.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "How the FBI's Raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago Was Viewed by Millions of Americans"

Don't expect Matt to actually tell us that, at least not based on any data.  Instead, he has this to say:

"The message is clear. The government under Democrats hates us...The actions of the FBI and DOJ were ones to strike fear into the hearts of Americans. It has done the opposite. These government officials should know our history. We're a nation of rebels who don't take kindly to these acts akin to an absolute monarchy. If Trump was ever on the edge of not running, and I don't think he ever was, then this act sure as hell is going to make him run again in 2024. I'm all-in on this now. Every patriot should be, and I don't think I'll be alone."

As I said, not a shred of evidence that Americans are annoyed at this long overdue action.  Matt is sure mad about it, though.  And more from Matt, who is on a tear today:

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "Did Joe Biden Have His Fort Sumter Moment With FBI Raid Against Trump?"

You mean, did Joe Biden personally start a new civil war by allowing the FBI, on its own judgement, to carry out this raid?  I doubt it, but Matt sure hopes so.

Matt Vespa, Town Hall:  "Liberal Media Goes Bananas Over FBI Raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago Residence"

Not that we noticed, but Matt and his friends sure have gone bananas.

Brandon Morse, Red State:  "Hillary Clinton Fundraises Off Mar-a-Lago Raid"

Trump can raise millions for children with cancer and disabled veterans, and then steal the whole proceeds.  That's just good business.  But for Hillary to say that this raid shows what a corrupt bastard Trump is- well, that is treason.

Nick Arama, Red State:  "Alan Dershowitz Rips FBI Raid on Trump, Raises Legal Questions About How It Was Conducted"

And what was Alan Dershowitz (remember him? a guy who said Trump had a right to do anything he wanted, as long as he claimed it was for the country's good) saying this time?

"According to him, in an appearance on Newsmax, such a raid should be the method of last resort, unless they can’t get the documents through subpoenas or any other lawful methods."

Apparently, Alan has forgotten that the Justice Department and Congress have just spent the last two years trying to "get the documents through subpoenas or any other lawful methods."

"On Fox, Dershowitz took up another issue with the raid, saying that the government would have to show they had reasonable evidence that this information would be destroyed."

How about those pictures of documents torn up in White House toilets?  How about the disappearance of e-mails about January 6th from the Secret Service, the DHS and the military?  How about...oh, I could go on forever about Trump's long record of refusing to comply with legal demands for documents.  let's just move on...

“Clearly there’s been a double standard,” Dershowitz declared. “You don’t get a warrant unless a subpoena wouldn’t suffice.”

Trump and his lackeys have such a wonderful record of responding as required to subpoenas.

"Even if Trump was in possession of some documents that needed to be archived, that is the kind of thing that has historically been dealt with in court, not with an FBI raid, and the former president was fully cooperating to this point."

Fully cooperating.  Right.  You know, a lie that brazen, in and of itself, should be grounds for disbarring this corrupt shyster.

"Meanwhile, Hunter Biden has been implicated in multiple federal crimes and his house hasn’t been raided."

Hunter Biden.  Right. "Implcated" by endless, and baseless, Republican lies.  Why won't Merrick Garland take them more seriously?  William Barr always did.

"The regime isn’t just eager, it is *desperate* for an excuse to use violence to crack down on the regime’s political enemies nationwide."

Republican projection at its finest, after years of Trump using his power to attack anyone who dared oppose him.  And note that the Biden Presidency is a "regime," not an administration.

" the FBI specifically wants justification to fight its war on “domestic terrorism.” They want to crush you and anyone who thinks like you."

Like any decent American, I only wish this were true.

"All they need is some on the right to lash out to enact their plan, and they have the entirety of the country’s institutions, including the press, supporting them.  Let me be frank: Do not give them what they want."

And here is the real concern of the traitors, and why it is they, not the Democrats, who are in a state of panic:  They are afraid that their followers will do what they have been manipulated for years to do. Oh, a violent "revolt" is exactly what Republican leaders want, just not before the November election.  After that, it's "fire when ready, Gridley."

Nick Arama, Red State:  "WATCH: Biden Has a Problem With His Jacket, Jill Has to Rescue Him"

This one item today is not about the raid on Trump's bunker- I've just included it to show what the Republicans have to attack Democrats over, as a contrast to Republican treason.

Stephen Kruiser, PJ Media:  "Merrick Garland's Mar-a-Lago Raid May Have Clinched Senate for the GOP"

Dream on, buster.  Let's see what they found.

Greg Byrnes, PJ Media:  "Deep State Burns Its Bridges to Get Trump—and Now It's Fighting for Its Life"

It's not Trump fighting for his life, with countless investigations into his criminality going on, no.  It's the Democrats.

"why no raids on the Democrats who took the jet to Epstein’s pedophile island with its readily available sex with underage girls? Why no raids on Hunter Biden and the apparent crimes documented on the laptop? Why no raids on Hilary Clinton after she destroyed evidence?"

Hunter and Hillary, of course, and a total ignoring of the fact that Epstein's closest friend among high ranking politicians was Donald Trump, who said once that he shared Epstein's liking of young girls.  It's like a form of Republican Tourette syndrome, screaming about endless long past Republican smears, in order to shout down any consideration of what they have really been up to, the last few decades.

"where are the prosecutions of the Muller team?"

Add them to Hillary, Hunter et. al.  And anyone else who ever dared to oppose Donald Trump, or who has any evidence of what a criminal he is.  And don't worry, if Republicans take over Congress in November, we will have purges on a level never before seen outside of Stalinist Russia.

"What will Trump do next? The timetable for Trump announcing his plans to run for president may have just been advanced."

That should really have Republican leaders hiding in the bushes.

"Editor's Note:  Help us defeat the leftist lies about President Trump's tremendous record."

By giving us money.

And of course, Gateway Pundit is hopping on this one:

Joe Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "By Storming President Trump’s Residence and Passing $700 Billion Spending Bill During Recession, the Biden Regime Reveals It Is Not Concerned with the 2022 Elections — The Fix Is In!"

Biden did the right thing- that proves he doesn't want to win elections.  Republicans have forgotten that it's only their voters that think that doing the wrong thing is a feature, not a bug.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Predictable: GOP Leaders Deliver their Typical Weak Sauce Response to Joe Biden’s Depraved Raid on President Trump’s Home"

Weak sauce seeming to be screaming about treason etc.- their standard response to everything Democrats do, except to use it as an excuse to pass more tax cuts for the rich.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "The Wailing of Demons: Leftist Pundits Shriek in Delight After Biden’s FBI Raids Home of President Trump"

Well, I'll cop to the delight part.  The shreiking I heard is all coming from the right.

Alicia Powe, Gateway Pundit:  "Just hours after Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida was raided by the FBI, the former president posted his eerie new ad on his social media platform late Monday night warning America is in decline and “a failing nation.  A harrowing clap of thunder is heard as Trump mournfully details the litany of dangers Americans face as tyranny takes hold in the somber ad, which opens in black and white.”

I won't bother with what he had to say beyond that.  It was a litany of the same old lies he always tells.

Larry Johnson, Gateway Pundit:  "The United States Government Is Behaving Like a Third World Despot"

When it does what is necessary against Republicans.  On the other hand, Republicans supporting a real third world type despot for President is a fine thing.

Jim Hoft, Gatway Pundit:  "Bernie Kerik: “If FBI Raid Will Not Stop Donald Trump – Their Next Step Will Be Assassination”

No evidence whatsoever; it's just projection from what they intend to do if they lose in 2024.

Cristina Laila, Gatway Pundit:  "Joe Biden Unleashes Machine Gun-Toting Agent on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Residence"

Machine gun toting agent!  Hey, I thought we had a right to bear arms.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "UPDATE: Stasi-FBI Swooped Through President Trump’s Home — Grabbing Boxes without Going Through Them or Knowing What’s In Them — TO GO THROUGH LATER AND MANUFACTURE A CRIME"

Stasi!!!  All in all, the Gateway Pundit managed to crank out 19 posts about the Mar-a-Lago raid, in just one day.  Man, they really are running scared about what they think the FBI found.

The Federalist:  "The FBI and DOJ criminalizing opposition to the regime is how the Republic ends"

Something they failed to worry about during the four years that the Trump administration did exactly that, every chance it got.

Bob Unruh, World Net Daily:  "Alarm sounded: Democrats will try to KILL Trump if raid fails...'I would not put assassination beyond these people"

We saw something like this above, from Gateway Pundit.  Given the Republicans' normal projection of their own behavior onto Democrats, I'd be really careful about who I hang out with if I were Trump.  At some point, he may be worth more to them as a dead martyr than a living jackass.

"Rudy Giuliani to Newsmax: Trump Raid 'Worst Day' in FBI's History"

Rudy Giuliani.  Right, well, we'll take that for what it's worth.

...and at this point, I am going to stop listing posts that just repeat the same garbage as the above.  Suffice it to say that WND managed to crank out eight posts about the raid- a far cry from the 19 at Gateway Pundit, but still a fair effort, don't you think?  And here are a few more totals:  A staggereing 22 posts about this at Breitbart today, 14 at Newsmax, nine at the Daily Caller, 12 at the Federalist and...well, okay, at that point I lost interest in counting.  I guess somebody touched a nerve with that raid.
