100,000

That's apparently the official death toll today.  Of course, anyone who has really followed the science of the pandemic knows the real number, which can only be calculated later, will be much larger, but that is still plenty.

In honor of this landmark, I wish to make the following prediction about the upcoming election.  I have never seen an election in which the voters are so polarized.  Others have said that, but they don't mean what I mean when I say it.  The truth is that about half the voters are sane, and are consequently going to vote for anyone who will help get Trump out of the White House, while a consistent and apparently unchangeable 43% have totally given themselves over to Republican madness, and are willing to destroy this country and their lives to live out their violent, hate filled fantasies.

So basically, what this all amounts to is this:   The entire election depends on two factors: how much cheating the Republicans are able to get away with, and how successful their multi-billion dollar campaign of lies and smears is.  These two things have put the last two Republican Presidents into the White House, with absolutely disastrous results, but there are those 43% who are raring to give it another try.  Can Democrats fight this filthy perversion of Democracy?  We won't know until November; remember Hillary would have won if it was not for James Comey's knife in the back barely a week before the election.

We'll all be watching, want to or not.

First off, Biden wouldn't have been my first choice of Democratic candidates, but he has Twitler outclassed in every area. I've resigned myself to the fact that voting Biden is the only vote that makes sense if the United States is to have any chance of survival.

Simply put, at this point Joe Biden could shoot Donald Trump in the middle of 5th Avenue and not lose my vote.

Exactly. Biden was certainly not my choice either, but to suggest that he is not infinitely better than what we have now is to be almost as crazy as the QAnon people. Unfortunately for the world, that is exactly the kind of lunatic thinking among supposedly left wingers that gave us Trump in the first place.

And how about a shout out to my most long term spammer, Packers and Movers Mumbai, which used to be Packers and Movers Bangalore, for some reason. Exactly why they think any readers of this blog are likely to need the service of movers in Mumbai, or perhaps Bangalore, is not really clear, but it is kind of cute.
