Wingnut Wrapup

Today's Wingnut Wrapup is dedicated to CNN contributor and all around jerk Erick Erickson, who featured this e-mail on his website Red State today:

A right winger getting something like that from a left winger is headline news.  Any reader of Wingnut Wrapup knows I can fill this column up with stuff like that from the right every single day of the year, and have hundreds more just like them left over.  Well, just go on with your phony outrage, Erick, while you do everything you can to incite the same hatred in your readers.  Look back to November 6th and see where it's getting you.

Allen West, in an NPR interview:  "My father served in World War II, my brother in Vietnam. My nephew currently serves. And you're going to call me a war criminal? I don't think that's a proper thing to bring up"

Aah, I see.  You tortured captives and were forced out of the military, but you are not a war criminal because your father was once in the Army.  Right, that makes sense.  Man, am I glad this guy is out of Congress.

John Ransome, Town Hall:  "The study I pointed to said that the ice is melting at a slower rate- and the ice melt is accelerating at a slower rate- than previously estimated. The next day a different report reaches a conclusion that the ice sheet is melting faster than previously thought. What I’m saying is that the first thing you guys need to do to push the Big Lie is at least get the lie straight."

You might be right about that, John.  After all, getting paid to push the big lie is what you do, so I guess you know how to do it.  But what if scientists aren't pushing the "big lie."  What if they are just reporting on the evidence they have found and trying to figure out what it means?  I bet you never thought of that possibility.  After all, there's no money to be made out of telling the truth.

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "Boehner on Obama Tax Plan: "You Can't Be Serious"

Oh yes he can.  And, while we're on the subject, could there ever be a more perfect statement of Republican values than this:

Moe Lane, Red State:  "Democrats poised to raise taxes… on their own voters... there’s a lot of blue there. If we call the Democrats’ bluff and they refuse to stop tax hikes from coming through next month, then there’s going to be one heck of a headache throughout Blue America...In short: the Democrats may be bluffing. And they may not be bluffing. Either way, it’s no skin off of my nose if the Democrats want to gut-shoot their own core geographic constituency. In fact, I consider it to be something of a teachable moment."

Yeah, a teachable moment.  And here's the lesson:  One party in this country is backed by people who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves, and who scream about patriotism, until it comes to expending a penny to see to it that our country continues to thrive.  And the members of that same party can't even imagine in their worst nightmares that anyone in the country might actually want to pay their share.  They are positive that being American means you can be bought off with a tax cut.

And now for a little denial:

Paul Murphy, American Thinker:  "Who elected Obama?  Nationally, Obama won the popular vote by 4,452,910 -- but because 4,516,701 of those came from California and New York, Romney and the GOP can reasonably argue that he won the rest of the country by just about 64,000 votes... Basically, the reality of this election is that Romney/Ryan won an overwhelming majority among those who pursue the American dream -- and those people need representation, not compromise."

Voters in New York and California aren't really human beings, and don't pursue the American dream, so actually, ROMNEY WON NA NA NA NA!!!!!!!!  Man, keep up this kind of thinking, so Republicans can win again in 2016.  And here is a late addition to Paul's article:

"I believe it's time to start work on a new Constitution. What say you, friends?"

Great idea, Paul.  How about doing it in a new country?  We're pretty happy with the Constitution we have.

And what would a Wingnut Wrapup be without a little climate idiocy?

Warren Beatty, American Thinker:  "If global warmists are correct, then the global population will die out until a warming equilibrium is reached. If they are incorrect, then we have nothing about which to worry. Either way, nature wins in the end."

Good point there, Warren!  Either the human race will die out or it won't, so what's the point of doing anything about it?  Who cares which outcome we face?  Who cares about whether our grandchildren live or die?  All that really counts is seeing that the government doesn't have the nerve to expect WE THE PEOPLE to pay to stop it.  That really would be an atrocity.

And now, the continuing story of "Desperate for a Scandal"

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "ObamaCare Increases Medical Costs...For Your Pets"
Any excuse to publish a picture of a Corgi in a Link costume.

The tragedy.  My prediction- this story will not get as much airplay as Benghazigate.  That's only because not even wingnuts think they can drum up an impeachment frenzy over an extra fifty cents on your dog's next checkup.

People who Can't Take a Joke:

Guy Benson, Town Hall:  "Insane: Liberals Contemplate $1 Trillion Platinum Coin to "Solve" Debt Limit Issue"

You know what, Guy?  That plan actually has more detail than anything you guys have offered.  And it isn't even serious.

"Nil Desperandum," Faith & Heritage:  "Christian Ethics and Interracial Marriage, Part 3: Important Distinctions...In the previous post I began to unfold an argument which contends that those who see miscegenation as morally permissible will eventually permit sodomy..."

Whoops- I think we've read enough of that one already.  In case you wondered:

"About Nil Desperandum:  Nil Desperandum is currently a college student in Ohio. His interests include theology, philosophy, and the application of biblical law to society."

Isn't that nice.  Listen, Nil, maybe you should wait until you graduate before shooting your mouth off.  This is the internet age, and you can never escape from your stupidity any more.  I blame Mr. and Mrs. Desperandum for naming this guy Nil.  This kind of lunacy just isn't handed out any more to people with normal names.

David Limbaugh, Human Events:  "Boehner must sprint to the national microphone and tell the American people that Obama is being unreasonable, reckless and uncompromising."

What the hell do you think he has been doing, David?  The problem is not that he isn't blaming Obama for everything- the problem is that no one believes him because...well, because he is a liar about everything, and everyone knows it.  A liar- just like you and your slobbering brother.

Doug Giles, Town Hall:  "Why do some atheists embarrass themselves year after year trying to eradicate Christmas from American culture? Why do they make themselves societal hemorrhoids during this hallowed season?  I believe...—and I could be wrong—that the reason some rage against the machine is that they hate God and love their sin."

You COULD be wrong, Dougie?  This from The Guy Who Never Told The Truth About Anything Ever.  First of all, of course, the vast majority of Atheists don't give a damn if someone else wants to celebrate a pagan holiday tarted up with a myth about the birth of Jesus.  And second, why in hell would anyone listen to this low-life lying scum about anything, without immediately assuming that, whatever he says, the exact opposite is true?   Wingnuts deliberately pay these people to write articles  because they are an affront to common decency.  They have convinced themselves that anything which offends liberals has to be virtuous, so they wrap their arms around worms like Doug Giles and pretend they are doing God's work.  What a miserable bunch of people.

Kevin Fobbs, Renew America:  "Is Barack Obama 'Lord and Savior' for liberals and black believers?"

No, he's not, Kevin.  He's the President of the United States.  Can't deal with that, can you?  Now, go back to sleep.  No?  Oh well then, just keep digging your hole deeper:

"It was President Ronald Reagan who saw and warned against the escalation of American liberalized abandonment of God and Christ"

Reagan?  God in heaven above, Kevin, who cares?  Really.

Judie Brown, Renew America:  "The truth is that contraception has become the cornerstone of culture decay — a decline that never had to occur if only Catholics in particular had paid attention to a prophet by the name of Pope Paul VI. He warned us more than 40 years ago in his profound encyclical, Humanae Vitae: "A man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires..."

Because, before contraception was available, there is not one known case of  "A man...reducing (a woman) to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires."  No, it was the generation that spread contraception who destroyed a woman's right to work outside of the house, which shouted down equal pay for women, which denied women the right to have their health care issues treated equally to those of men...oh, wait a minute.  None of those things existed until the time that contraception came along.  Well, Judie, I guess you were just lying as usual.  Surprise, surprise.

Brent Bozell, Human Events:  "Oscar snubs this year’s most successful documentary...“2016″ made more money at the box office than the combined receipts of the 15 films the Academy put on."

In case you aren't aware, "2016" is a film about how the United States will be destroyed by Obama in another four years.  Brent, don't you know that the Academy virtually never gives awards to science fiction?

World Net Daily EXCLUSIVE!  "Ray Comfort is releasing a new book and new video that offers some spiritual context to Lennon’s life and the careers of the Beatles with “The Beatles, God and the Bible”

Well, we won't be bothering to read that one, huh?

W. A. Beatty, American Thinker:  "Dems Say Social Security Doesn't Add to Deficit...It's time that Democrats stop hiding behind technicalities"

Yeah, it's time Democrats stop hiding behind "technicalities" like the fact that, as Social Security is financed totally separately from the rest of the government, it doesn't contribute a penny to the deficit.  That's the "technicality-"  the truth.  Democrats need to stop hiding behind the truth.  That is grossly unfair to Republicans, who have no truth to hide behind, and therefore it should be forbidden.

Kevin Glass, Town Hall:  "How Democrats Can Get What They Want: Agree With Republicans"

Ha ha, that's actually what this dingbat says.  Here's his argument:

"Raising marginal income tax rates is one of the most economically harmful ways to raise taxes. (The only provisions of the tax code that are more damaging are the corporate income tax and taxes on savings and investments.)"

A total lie, of course, but all the Republicans want is more for the rich, so it's the same thing over and over again, for a hundred years now, no matter how many disasters it causes.

David Limbaugh, Town Hall:  "Obama Barreling Toward Real Fiscal Cliff...Some commentators wonder why President Obama always engages in brinksmanship. Why can't he meet Republicans halfway, like Clinton did"

Republicans from 1992 wouldn't even be able to meet today's Republicans halfway, without destroying the country.

Mona Charen, Town Hall:  "The incomparable Walter Russell Mead, writing in the American Interest, offered a glimpse into the coming dystopia: "Things are getting worse in San Bernardino."

Coming dystopia?  San Bernardino has been a dystopia for decades.  Hint:  it's because its population is majority Republican, and so the people vote to not pay their bills.

Cal Thomas, Town Hall:  "The opening scene-setter for the 1996 film "Independence Day" might serve as a metaphor for what Egyptians could face if a draft constitution written by a panel dominated by Islamists and based on Sharia law wins approval in a referendum."

You mean like this?  An attack by huge flying saucers?  Man, that would be horrible.  Of course, as far as I can tell from this picture, it would at least get Obama out of the White House, so a lot of wingnuts might go for it.

Bryan Fischer, Renew America:  "Judges trample the Constitution in their war on Christ"

God in heaven above, Bryan, isn't it about time that you grew up?  I mean, I know there isn't a sane person on earth who believes a thing you say, but really, don't you have any sense of shame?

Bretibart:  "Palin to GOP: 'This Won't Be Forgotten Come 2014'

What's she talking about?  I forgot.
