You may remember (not that I would know why) that Rick Santorum was hired last winter to be the head of Echolite Studios, a right wing Christian company that was going to make a huge impression on the film world.  Well, I'm pleased to announce that their first film, an action-packed epic entitled "The Christmas Candle." Whoops- it was a huge flop, doing about a million in its first two weeks, after a production cost estimated at about $7 million.  It thus follows in the tradition of a host of other right wing movies, most notably "Atlas Shrugged," which involves briefly circling the drain before vanishing from sight.  Of course, I've rarely seen a one sheet that makes a film look more boring: But then, I have no doubt that it accurately represents this ninth-rate production.  That's what you get, I suppose, when you hire a failed right wing politician to make movies.  Even Goebbels did better than this piece of trash: Well, better luck next time...

Let's just hop to it with one of the dumbest things I've ever heard: Courtney O'Brien, Town Hall:  "Sigh: The Media Still Thinks the Obamas Are Celebrities" How could they think that, when, actually, no one knows who they are, right?.  Here's a little more from Courtney: "Us Weekly...published a flowery piece on Obama the day before the presidential election last year after asking him to reveal “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me.” The editors made sure to include the following note: Us also asked Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, 65, to submit a "25 Things" list, but he declined. Yeah, maybe that’s because he was too busy trying to act presidential." "Trying to act presidential."  Yup, that just about sums things up.  Trying and failing.  Unlike Obama, who doesn't have to try to act Presidential, because he is the President.  When Obama wants to act Presidential he just has Osama bin Laden killed, or mak...

My two cents about filibuster reform: To understand how essential this is, how it should have been done long ago, you have to start with Richard Nixon and the appointment of William Rehnquist to the Supreme Court.  When Nixon had a chance to appoint a Supreme Court justice, his initial choice was an unrepentant Southern racist named Clement Haynsworth.  The Democrats justifiably would not have this and the Senate rejected him.  Next was a equally bad Southern Racist, Harold Carswell.  He too was rejected by the Senate.  Following these rejections, Nixon wised up slightly and decided to appoint a non-Southern racist, an Arizona resident with a history of active voter suppression activities directed toward minorities- William Rehnquist.  By that time, the Senate, fatigued by the previous two battles, gave in and let Nixon have his way. We learned yesterday that a Republican Congressman was convicted recently of possession of three and a half grams of cocaine.  His punishment: one year of probation and a $200 fine. Just like you or I would get, right?

Here's a Facebook post that makes good reading, courtesy of Crooks and Liars: "We now have authority to shoot Obama, i.e., to kill him. His willful violations and alienation of our Constitution, constant disregard for our peaceful protests and corruption of all the three branches of government, (i.e., rogue and illegitiimate government), reveal the dictator that he is. You don't think I'm done beating up on the right wingers for their staggering failure yesterday, do you?  Not if you know Green Eagle you don't.  So, let's dive right in. World Net Daily featured an amazing article today about the start of their revolution, with many pictures, not one of which showed the "crowd" of 100 that showed up, for some reason.  In fact, they seem to have not one second thought or feeling of shame at falling so far short of their prediction that millions would attend.  However, it did have some comments about the event: "Crowd declares '2nd Revolution' outside White House Calls for Obama's resignation: 'We the People have had enough!'
