The News Marches On

 There are just so many wonderful things going on in the world today that Green Eagle cannot resist bringing some of them to your attention.  Here are a few of the great stories we get to live with. and remember that these are largely mainstream press reports, not the degenerate drooling from the right that I usually bring to your attention.

"Koch Industries to stay in Russia, says exiting does ‘more harm than good’"

More harm than good to whom, exactly?  Koch industries?  Vladimir Putin?

"A Japanese patrol has spotted Russian amphibious transport warships passing through Tsugaru Strait"

We've seen the spectacle of a Russian naval convoy going around Asia to fight in a war.  That time, in 1905, it was going the other way, but given what we have seen the last two weeks from the Russian military, the result is likely to be the same.  If you are interested in more, I want to recommend episode 121 of the excellent podcast, "Lions Led by Donkeys,"  titled  'Russo-Japanese War part 3- The Voyage of the Damned'  I am sorry that I don't know how to link to it directly, but you can find it on Spotify, or other places that link to podcasts.

"Asked whether he thought a year ago that Biden and Manchin would have developed better chemistry, Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said, “Yeah,” adding “I don’t know why” it isn’t better...That’s the way it is,” he said somberly."

He doesn't know why.  I've always wondered why Jesus never became drinking buddies with Satan.  I mean, they have so much in common, being in the same book and all.  This jackass continues: 

"Biden, who is 79 years old, and Manchin, who is 74, are two old-school Democrats from gritty industrial towns in neighboring states"

"Old school Democrats, right.  One is a working class guy, and the other's family owns coal mines, but it wasn't worth mentioning that.  After all, they both come from "gritty industrial towns," so they are just the same.  This from an article at the Hill, entitled "-manchins-blow-to-bidens-fed-pick-reveals-weakness-of-relationship."  

And while we are on the subject of Coal Mine Joe Manchin, here's another story about this "centrist" hero who will stand up to his own party, but not to the fascists in the other party who are destroying our country:

"He exhorted CERAWeek attendees to provide leadership in Washington and look for a “return on investment” from politicians who solicit campaign donations from them…You all have been very successful. You make great decisions, and you’ve done very well in life for yourself and your family and those around you. Use the same type of approach, when you have politicians that come and ask for support, that you do when you make a financial decision for yourself and your family: You want a return on investment.”

A "return on investment" for political contributions.  Let's see, I think there once was a name for that-  Oh yeah, they used to call it corruption.  In fact, that used to be sort of the definition of corruption- paying a politician to do your bidding.  Now, it's a "return on investment."  How exactly are decent people ever supposed to form a constructive relationship with slime like this, no matter what party they claim to be a part of?

Anyway, on we go.

"Putin offered Syrian military personnel monthly salaries from $200 to $300 USD for six months, including other "privileges" to join Russia's fight against Ukraine.  Over 40,000 Syrians have enlisted to fight, according to reports from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)—a Syrian non-governmental group."

Supposedly the second strongest military power on earth, and they are having to hire mercenaries off the streets of a failed terrorist state to fight for them.  Yes, that is a sure sign of an eventual Russian return to world hegemony. 

"Biden Effect: Saudi Arabia Invites Chinese President Xi to Visit Country as Relations with US Unwind"

Very interesting.  Two nations decide to have talks with each other, and that is a sure sign that Biden is a worthless, failed President.  Not even a word about what they are discussing- it might be a birthday party for Lindsay Graham- but it must be bad news for Biden.   

"Liar Lindsey Graham Threatened to Use 25th Amendment to Get Rid of Trump on Jan. 6 — HAS NEVER ONCE Threatened to Use 25th to Remove Potato Brain Biden"

Gee, using the 25th amendment to replace a sociopathic, traitorous criminal, but not using it to remove a sitting President who is doing a tremendous job of playing the hand left to him by his corrupt Republican predecessor.  How can that be fair?

"Joe Biden Calls Vladimir Putin a “War Criminal” in Outburst to Reporters"

Somehow, this obviously totally justified statement has now become an opportunity for many opinion leaders to make the story about Biden being a crazy, irrational old coot.

And okay, okay, I can't resist, some "news" today from Gateway Pundit:

"Families of Parkland Victims Awarded $127.5 Million for School Massacre Due to FBI Dishonesty and Negligence"

Because of course the Parkland massacre was about bad government, not about a right wing maniac, urged on by years of Republican hatemongering, going on a killing spree in a high school.

"Megalomaniac Tony Fauci Fears GOP Will Target Him If They Take Control of Congress Next Year"

What, it won't?  Fauci is a megalomaniac if he realizes what Republican monsters will do if they take power back?

"A Year-and-a-Half Out – NY Times Confirms Hunter Biden Laptop is Real"

Well, a year and a half of investigations, and it turns out that Hunter Biden actually did own a laptop.  What a monstrous crime!  Of course, not a shred of evidence that there is anything bad on that laptop, which would have immediately been leaked to the press, so Republicans could scream about it for years, but so what?  The "investigations" march onward!

Hunter Biden’s work for Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy company, became a flashpoint in his father’s race in 2020 against President Donald J. Trump and helped set off the events that led to Mr. Trump’s first impeachment."  

This quote is from That Miserable Newspaper, by the way.  Yeah, it became a "flashpoint" for utterly groundless attacks on Biden.  Which are exactly the same as absolutely true revelations of Trump's treachery.

"Over the last two years, federal prosecutors in Delaware have issued scores of subpoenas for documents related to Hunter Biden’s foreign work"

Without, apparently, a single meaningful result, just like the five year long Durham "investigation" into Hillary and Biden, or the dozens of Republican hearings into Benghazi and Hillary's e-mails.  Hardly necessary, of course, to point out that they found nothing.

"TRUMP WAS RIGHT: Hunter Biden Paid One Million Dollar Tax Bill" 

This article cheers Trump for revealing the dastardly actions of Hunter Biden, who apparently paid his taxes, a monstrous crime when Democrats do it.  Trump, on the other hand, would never be such a sucker and loser as to pay his taxes, proving what a great leader he is.
