TED!

Ted, Ted, Ted!

All I want to know is how Saturday Night Live is going to get Bill Murray back, to play him:

He actually, for some reason, brought to my mind the grifter from Green Acres, Mr. Haney.

Out of curiosity, I just googled the two:

God, that was painful. I mainly remember Green Acres for the presence of Arnold the Pig. Well, Cruz has streamlined the process, being both Mr. Haney and a pig all at the same time.

Yeah, I know, it's not a fair comparison--Mr. Haney the flim-flam man, was much more honest than Ted Cruz.

But his campaign might be worth paying attention to if Ted would just speak like Mr. Haney did. Just for the hell of it I found a transcript of some comments by Ted, and heard the words in my head with Haney's voice...much, much more tolerable and interesting and fun.

Ted reminds me of the character Martin Sheen plays in "The Dead Zone". Not because he looks like 'Greg Stilson', rather because he is just as dangerous.

Greg Stillson: I have had a vision that I am going to be President of the United States someday. And nobody, and I mean *nobody* is going to stop me!

and

Greg Stillson: Put your hand on the scanning screen, and you'll go down in history with me!

Five Star General: As what? The world's greatest mass murderers?

Greg Stillson: You cowardly bastard! You're not the voice of the people, I am the voice of the people! The people speak through me, not you! You put your god damn hand on that scanning screen, or I'll hack it off and put it on for you!
