The Pharmaceutical Industry Guide to Successful Business Practices

See, you have something that people need to save their lives, and it costs $100.00.  So, all of a sudden, you multiply the price six times, to $600.00.  As anyone could have predicted, there are screams of outrage from people who don't want to die so your CEO can make $20 million a year.

The answer?  Suddenly come up with a "generic" version of the drug, which is exactly the same as the old one, except for a different label, and proudly announce that you are going to sell it for a mere $300.00, thus succeeding in tripling your price for no good reason, and getting praised for your nobility in the process.

A good gig, huh?
