Here's a chart from Jim Hoft over at Gateway Pundit.  He posts this chart every two or three days, and it is often to be seen on many other right wing sites: The chart has the obvious purpose of convincing people that Obama is responsible for the government's budget problems.  And it certainly makes it look like Obama exploded the deficit, right?  There is, however, one thing wrong with Jim's chart, so I have taken the liberty of correcting it: The first one of those long, long lines, the budget for fiscal year 2009, was in reality Bush's last budget.  Sort of gives a whole different view of who was responsible for sending the country into massive debt, huh? Oh well, what can you expect?  They sure aren't going to admit why we are all screwed, are they?

In Arizona, where the State Senate has just passed this : "Senate Bill 1433 would create a 12-person "Joint Legislative Committee on Nullification of Federal Laws," which would "recommend, propose and call for a vote by simple majority to nullify in its entirety a specific federal law or regulation that is outside the scope of the powers delegated by the People to the federal government in the United States Constitution." Talking Points Memo, which is covering this story, mentions the following quotation, which apparently escaped the notice of Republicans, while they are fighting so hard to preserve the constitution: "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to th...

Here is a story about a bill in the Ohio legislature to do the same thing that Scott Walker is doing in Wisconsin:  to destroy the first amendment rights of government workers: "It took the removal of two union-sympathetic Republicans from Ohio state Senate committees, but supporters of Gov. John Kasich's (R) plan to limit collective bargaining rights for state workers were able to move their plan one step closer to Kasich's desk today. By a vote of 7-5, a State Senate Committee charged with reviewing the collective bargaining proposal -- known as Senate Bill 5 -- moved the bill toward a floor reading and its expected passage." Get that?  They could only get this bill through the Ohio Senate by stripping two Republican Senators of their committee assignments.  Now it is apparently okay for legislation to be passed by only allowing legislators that support it to vote.  What kind of democracy do we have in this country any more?  And really, consider th...

Fox News showed footage yesterday of Wisconsin demonstrators allegedly roughing up reporters.  The film must have been shot in south Wisconsin, as there were palm trees in the background.

Here's something that doesn't seem to have registered on the collective minds of our nation's "liberal" press:  Remember Glenn Beck's grand rally last fall in Washington?  This event was blessed by Fox news and countless right wing talk show hosts with months of publicity, and was healthily funded by the likes of Newt Gingrich and the Koch brothers.  After all of that, it attracted about 87,000 attendees. Well, last Sunday, in Madison Wisconsin, a pro-labor rally with almost no funding or free publicity, and on a couple of weeks notice drew 100,000- more than Beck could muster with the whole right wing on his side. It is time that we, and the press, stop pretending that the American right and the teabaggers represent majority opinion in this country, or even make up a significant minority.  They are a synthetic phenomenon which only has power because our miserable press chooses to give it to them.  There are still a lot more of us than them, and it's a...

I am happy to report that Shawna Forde got the death sentence today, for slaughtering two people (including a nine year old girl) as part of her right wing campaign to wipe out non-whites in Arizona. Of course, her attorney whined that she should be spared because she had a bad childhood.  Which never seems to carry much weight with right wingers when it's a poor person on trial for something.  But I guess it should excuse political murder.  If it's right wing political murder, of course.  That goes without saying.
