Michigan- The Real Story

I am going to take a victory lap and proclaim that absolutely no one- not the pundits, not the mainstream press, not the bloggers- except me correctly predicted what was going to happen in the Republican Michigan primary.

I predicted that Romney would use his now-perfected technique of waiting until a week or two before the primary, and then crush whatever real opponent he has with an avalanche of corporate-funded smears on radio and TV.  That is exactly what he has done, ending up right on the target of a 2-3% margin of victory, which, as I suggested, is all he needed to pay for to take the next step toward his inevitable coronation as the choice of the Republicans' real base- the hyper rich- to run for President.

Get ready, because this strategy on steroids is going to be how he campaigns against Obama.  The only bright spot in all of this is that the Republicans seem to have really bought into their fantasy of Obama as the teleprompter-addicted fumbling elitist Chardonnay swiller, and consequently have no clue about what is going to hit them when Obama gets back into campaign mode.  Anyone who saw any excerpts of Obama's appearance yesterday knows that the real Obama can break Romney in two when he decides the time has come. If I were Romney, I'd be devoting a lot of time now to coming up with an excuse to have no debates at all this fall, because I don't think even the American voters are stupid enough that they can't tell the difference between a real person and a corporate robot.

13,005.12

Tell me again, Republicans, how Obama has been so bad for business.

The stock market last peaked in the week of October 8, 2008, at 14,093.  Then, under Republican economic stewardship, the Dow fell in 17 months to 6627, 40 days into Obama's Presidency.  That is a loss of 7,466 points, or 53%.  That's right, folks, Bush and Cheney succeeded in a year and a half in destroying half the wealth of the stock market.  Then, Obama took over.  Under his control, the market has risen 96%, to over 13,000.

How in the world can such a large part of the American people still have any doubt about which party is better for this country?  Man, they are destroying us all.

The Press Continues To Deliberately Misinterpret The Election

Like this, from USA Today, although the same thinking can be found without exception throughout the mainstream media:

"WASHINGTON – A pair of new polls suggest the race for the Michigan primary has swung to Mitt Romney's advantage heading into the last weekend before the election. But his lead is a slim one."

Naturally, the story of the Michigan primary is presented as some ebb and flow between the candidates, rather than the truth:  Romney needs a win in Michigan, but that's all he needs, not a landslide.  So the massively rich people behind Romney's candidacy will spend just enough on negative ads, to cut into Santorum's support and purchase a Romney victory.  That's what he did in Iowa, it's what he did to Gingrich in Florida, it's his whole campaign strategy: use the monetary advantage that comes from being the rich people's candidate to knock down anyone who gets close to him.  And, if it doesn't quite work, like in Maine and in the Iowa caucuses, a few precincts will turn up missing, or some other irregularity will occur, and voila! Romney wins!  It's been inevitable all along.

And just wait until the general election, when Romney has to run against a real person with real accomplishments.  That will make his behavior so far look like a picnic.

Any resemblance to democracy is strictly unintentional.

They Owe It To Us

Well, here we are, in one of the most screwed up countries on earth, and the American people keep handing the tiller back to the criminals who got us here.  You know why this keeps happening?  Because Americans are the most stupid, ignorant, greedy people on earth, and they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

Case in point today:  this article, caught by Atrios:

"Farmers furious after Iraq stops buying US rice

The talk of the day among Ray Stoesser and other rice farmers is Iraq's decision not to buy U.S. rice...Stoesser and other farmers know Iraqis struggled during the U.S. invasion and subsequent occupation..."

"Struggled during the U.S. invasion?"  What, you mean when they were killed by the hundreds of thousands by us, during our aggression against their country?  Yeah, I guess that would count as struggling.

"They know most countries , and people , buy based on price..."That's just not right," the 63-year-old Stoesser fumed. "If we've got some rice to sell, they ought to pay a premium for it just because this is the country that freed them..."

Freed them from life. And destroyed their infrastructure in the process, and then left their country in the hands of religious fanatics backed by their enemy, Iran. Yeah, they really owe us something for that.  Let's just pray that they never get a chance to pay back that debt.

"You would think with all that we've done over there, there would be a way to get them to do business with us," said Ronald Gertson, who grows rice in Lissie, Texas."

That's right.  All we've done over there.  Just like how the Nazis did so much for the Poles, what with removing all of those worthless peasants they were saddled with (i.e. the Polish people) and replacing them with hard-working, patriotic SS troopers.  The least the Iraqis could do is pay us a fair price for that.

"Iraq seems to be buying on price, and the lowest offered price is coming now from India," Aaronson said.  (Andy Aaronson, chairman of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rice Interagency Commodity Estimate Committee.)"

They are buying on price!  How dare they!  They owe us!  Sure, Capitalism is the greatest thing ever, but only for us, not for them!

"We invested so much in that country, and we feel like it's something of a slap in the face," said (Mike) Wagner, who's considering planting more soybeans or a new crop on his 4,000-acre Mississippi Delta farm..."We spent billions and billions, if not trillions over there, and lots of people died," Alter said. "There should be some reciprocation ... Last time I checked, there wasn't any Uruguayan soldiers that lost their lives in Iraq."

Last I checked, there were never any Uraguayan soldiers in Poland either.  We spent trillions destroying their country, and the ungrateful pigs won't acknowledge what they owe us for that?  Let me tell you something:  If these jingoistic American asses got the reciprocation they are asking for, we'd have a few million dead civilians here too, and virtually no electricity or water supply, and we'd be under the control of a pack of religious lunatics funded by Mexico.

But no, WE are the most noble, self-sacrificing people on earth, and anyone who says different is a Communist or something.  The hatefulness of these people, who can stand by while our country devastates another land without a shred of justification, and then claim that it is they that owe us something, is beyond description.

Listen, what miniscule fraction of one percent of the American people could recognize this guy?

His name is Mohammed Mossadegh.  Don't recognize him?

"Mohammad Mosaddegh was the Prime Minister of Iran from 1951 to 1953 until being overthrown in a coup d'├ętat.

His administration introduced a wide range of social reforms but is most notable for its nationalization of the Iranian oil industry...Mosaddegh was removed from power in a coup on 19 August 1953, organised and carried out by the United States"

So, you think that, just maybe, the reason Iranians are so hostile toward the United States is not because they are a bunch of insane Muslims, but because they remember that we overthrew their democratic government and replaced it with a vicious, murderous dictator, and supplied him with so many weapons that no one had the strength to get rid of him except fanatics backed by a religion of one billion people?  You think just maybe they don't trust us because we gave them decades of dictatorship followed by decades of repressive religious rule?  Oh no, it's because they are stupid, violent brown people.

And yet these smug, ignorant pigs go on screaming that the world owes us everything, because we are such noble people, who go around doing nothing but wonderful deeds.  The United States is in fact a degraded monster, preying on the rest of the world whenever it suits its purpose, and full of people mighty proud of the fact.  This is the cancer that is eating this country away, and the result is the ludicrous, disgusting collection of lying demagogues that the Republican party is presenting to us as potential leaders of our country, and the preposterous fact that it is all too likely that one of them will be living in the White House next year.

He Missed It

Rick Santorum:

“Woodstock is the great American orgy. This is who the Democratic Party has become...They prey upon our most basic primal lusts, and that’s sex... it’s not about life. It’s about sexual freedom. That’s what it’s about.”

Apparently, he missed the music part. Rick, here is a little of what was going on while you were obsessed with the sex:

More Lying Republican Revisionism- Santorum Style

Rick Santorum today:

"And America sat from 1940 when France fell to December of '41 and did almost nothing," he explained. "Why? Because we're a hopeful people. We think, 'You know it will get better."

Why, you lying dick?  The real reason was this:  Roosevelt spent years doing everything he could to support the British and other enemies of the Nazis (for one example, check out the lend-lease act ,) but he was obstructed every step of the way by the Republican party, which did everything it could to prevent any American action against Nazi Germany.  That's the truth, buster.  Try it some time.

Do I even need to tell you that the whole reason that Santorum told this lie today is so he could compare Obama to Hitler?  And yet scum like this are presented by the Washington pundits as fully qualified to replace Obama in the White House.  What a world.

They Are Insane and They Want Your Vote

Some excerpts from a 2008 speech by current Republican frontrunner Rick Santorum:

"This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country - the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age. There is no one else to go after other than the United States...

The place where he was, in my mind, the most successful and first successful was in academia. He understood pride of smart people. He attacked them at their weakest, that they were, in fact, smarter than everybody else and could come up with something new and different."

What a bunch of arrogant assholes, those Nobel prize winners and people like them, to think they are smarter and more knowledgeable than, say, the average Wal-Mart security guard.  What could ever fill them with the arrogance to think that, other than Satan.  But that's not the worst evil that Satan has in store for us:

"...once the colleges fell and those who were being education in our institutions, the next was the church...Now you’d say, ‘wait, the Catholic Church’? No"

Of course not the Catholic Church!  And anyone who suggests that an orgy of tens of thousands of child rapes by priests might suggest to the religious that Satan could be involved, is truly an ugly-minded person.  No, the problem is not in Rick Santorum's cult, but in the other big one:

"...this was a Protestant country and the Protestant ethic, mainstream, mainline Protestantism, and of course we look at the shape of mainline Protestantism in this country and it is in shambles, it is gone from the world of Christianity as I see it."

Yes indeed, folks, this is considered appropriate thought from a supposedly Christian Republican leader:  Satan has taken over the largest Christian sect in America, and it is as a result no longer Christian.  All Protestants are now nothing but minions of Satan.

How, how, can the mainstream media treat a person like this as a legitimate candidate to lead our country?  How can it be that millions of people are willing to side with a malignant religious lunatic, rather than have a perfectly competent and sane black man in the White House?

Yes, this country is in shambles.  But it is hardly the product of the cartoon villain Satan.  No, our miserable state is caused by people like Rick Santorum, who will tell any lie and spread any smear in order to get their way.

Wingnut Wrapup

Let me start this edition of Wingnut Wrapup with a comment I saw someone make on a sane blog a couple of days ago:

"As exhausting as it is, we have to keep up the pressure that the other side will lie and vilify anything and everything that is good or positive that does not fit their crazy logic or agendas.  They can not get away with their ridiculous attempt at faking journalism."

That's why I keep doing this.  It isn't because I think right wingers are so amusing.  Well, onward:

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "Weeks ago, President Obama gutted our ground forces in favor of entitlement programs. Now, his administration plans to cut the U.S. nuke arsenal by 80 percent. It is clear President Obama is more than happy to weaken America as a military force in the world."

God, that would leave us with only 500 or so deployed nuclear weapons!  How would we ever survive?  By the way, the thing about gutting our ground forces- that was a lie.  How surprising, huh?

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "The integrity of our elections is at risk. POLITICO has a new report out today with some startling numbers on our voting system, showing the potential for massive voter fraud as millions of dead people are still registered to vote"

I am going to get worried about this as soon as Katie convinces me that one of them actually got out of their grave and voted.  That really would bother people.  Although, there is a great SciFi channel movie in there somewhere.  The worst of this whole thing is, given the age distribution of voters, you just KNOW that if they did get out of their graves, they'd vote Republican.

Katie Pavlich, Town Hall:  "How About $800 Million for the Arab Spring?  Tucked away in the mounds of text and numbers, President Obama has allocated a cool $800 million to go towards the "Arab Spring."

Far better, of course, to give the money to Arab dictators, like Republicans have done for decades.  We all know how much better that worked out.   Boy, Katie has had a busy little fantasy life lately.  Katie, no more anchovy pizzas before bed.

Peter Schiff, Town Hall:  "Economics: A Science About which Paul Krugman Knows Very Little"

A little biography:

Peter Schiff:  "Peter is a highly recommended broker by many leading financial newsletters and investment advisory services. He also served as an economic advisor to the 2008 Ron Paul presidential campaign."

Paul Krugman:  Paul is an economics professor at Princeton University, and long-time economics columnist at the nation's leading newspaper.  A couple of years ago, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics.

We report- you decide who knows very little about economics.   I'm not even going to bother you with the "substance" of Peter's article, since a kindergatener could see through it in a second.

Scott Ott:  "Why We Resist Obama's Power Grabs"

Because if you resisted something that actually existed, you'd get the crap beaten out of you.

Richard Fernandez, Pajamas Media:  "College Education: A Right or a Privilege?"

A right.  If your parents can cough up the dough.  Otherwise, just be thankful that Newt isn't going to get a chance to give your janitorial job to a third grader.

Chelsea Schilling, Renew America:  "Shocker! 'Christian Oscars' stun Hollywood"

If by "stun," you mean "to render unconscious," I agree- since as far as I can tell, no one in Hollywood is actually conscious of the existence of the "Christian Oscars."  And what an event we missed, featuring "Dr. Ted Baehr, a famous media critic," and a couple of actors you never heard of.  Better luck next year, guys.  Maybe you can get Victoria Jackson to make an appearance.

World Net Daily EXCLUSIVE!  "See White House contempt for WND correspondent"

That would be Les Kinsolving.  The White House press secretary pointedly refused to take a question from him.  What an outrage!  The last question Les asked at a White House Press Conference was this one:

"Does the commander in chief approve or disapprove of bestiality in our armed forces?”

Wonder what Les wanted to ask this time?

Brent Bozell, Town Hall:  "The Kennedy Has No Clothes...it's time to stop this dishonest rewrite about the Kennedy White House. It wasn't Camelot. It was a sewer. It's time for them to stop ignoring that."

Brent is the "Founder and President of the Media Research Center."  They promise that, any day now, their research is going to reach the year 1964.  Until then, the most important thing they have to contribute to our national discourse is a smear of a man who has been dead for half a century.  Thanks for that earnest effort, Brent.  Maybe you can get back to us when you discover that Lyndon Johnson really didn't like barbecue.

World Net Daily:  "Were you once a fish? Science says 'yes'! "

I don't think science says that, but may I point out that someone at World Net Daily was once an ass?  I know this because they're still there.

Ann Coulter, Town Hall:  "Liberals huffily ask why it's so important to the Catholic Church not to pay for insurance plans that cover birth control, but the better question is: Why is it so important to liberals to force them to?  The answer is: They want the government giving official sanction to birth control and, later, abortion."

Ann, I hate to break it to you, but the government gave "official sanction" to abortion in 1973.  Remember now?  So, too late, girl.  Get on with your life already.  Maybe it's not too late for a career as a beautician.

Larry Elder, Town Hall:  "Whitney Houston Critics Called Her 'Too White' -- Black Republicans Can Relate"

What, are they all out of control crack addicts too?  Well, that would explain a lot, I must admit.

Greg Hengar:  "Santorum "Sounds More Like Stalin"

That is so unfair.  Stalin might have done a lot of bad things, but no one ever accused him of being a sex-obsessed religious lunatic.

Paul Kengor, American Thinker:  "A fascinating theory has been advanced by Dick Morris..."

Oh fuck, that's far enough in that article.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "RIck Santorum Warns of Terror Strike on North Dakota"

No reader of Wingnut Wrapup will be surprised that Rick apparently was informed of this shocking threat via a direct communication from God, since he had not one shred of evidence to reveal supporting this conclusion; however, apparently the Ayatollahs there over in Iran have picked North Dakota out for special attention.  Be afraid, O North Dakotans, be very afraid.  Someone is getting ready to set off an underwear bomb in a corn crib.

Laurie Roth, Renew America:  "New coming holocaust -- Christians and conservatives...The stage has been set for our demise. 72 FEMA camps have been activated.  The pattern established by Hitler is simply being copied by Obama and his thugs. Remember, Obama is the teleprompter King."

Hitler- famed far and wide for his use of the teleprompter.  Oh yes, Laurie, I see what you mean!  The comparison is so obvious when you point it out! Laurie continues:

"Watch for contrived and invented threats to attack parts of America"

Oh my God, she's right!  Why, Obama is already threatening to attack North Dakota, which is part of America!  Oh wait- sorry, that was your guy Rick Santorum, just above.  Well, same thing.

"Watch out for bold attacks aimed at national Tea Party groups and leaders. Watch out for pastors to be arrested for preaching from the Holy Bible ...buy more guns, Bibles, and ammo NOW."

Nothing better to defend the Holy Bible than more guns.  It's always worked great in the past.

And while we're on the subject of the Holy Bible  (Green Eagle is always careful, let me remind you, never to refer to that evil book, the Unholy Bible, written thousands of years ago by Saul Alinsky) let's go out here talking antichrist:

Grace Harley, American Thinker:  "Going by the project code-name "Narwhal", millions of pieces of information about US voters have been collected since 2008 and are being used as tools of manipulation in 2012.  Now the sitting president of this country knows exactly where you politically stand, and just how to control your choices.

Grace, Grace, that's called "campaigning."  It's actually happened before in Presidential elections.  Really.  But of course, this time it's different:

"A twisted protrusion from the left has been injected into the democratic process, again."

Huh? I Mean really, huh?  Maybe Grace can clear this up:

"Those who are already feeling that America is approaching her "End Times" will see no end of comparisons here between a "narwhal" and the predicted "world religious-political leader" yet to be fully revealed. Perhaps even more concerning is the fact that the Obama campaign wears this code-name as a badge of honor. It is a mockery against those who hold to a biblical eschatalogy of an anti-Messiah.

Do they not realize (or simply do not care) that the claim of a black/white, death-like body with no real teeth that comes from the North, grows a horn from the LEFT side of his head and takes over like a huge beast is a name chosen to represent their nation's president? It is very revealing of their true perspective."

Oh, okay, then.  Man, this is going to be one weird election.

Republican Delusion Spins to New Heights!

From a comment at Town Hall:

"It is the greatest hijack.

The Republicans have fought for the rights of the Blacks and minorities against the racists in the Democratic Party. Yet, it is the GOP that is portrayed as racists and bigots.

I guess all the Dems had to do was take off their white hoods and stop lynching and viola, the press portrays them as the ones that championed civil rights"

Viola!  And cello too!

Can someone explain to me how you deal with people who claim to believe things like this?  I mean, short of the techniques pioneered by those who fought the ebola virus?

One Percent? Don't Make Me Laugh

Here's a statistic we won't be hearing discussed in the mainstream press:

"196 individual donors...have provided nearly 80% of the money raised by super PACs in 2011 by giving $100,000 or more each."

The one percent versus the 99 percent?  These 196 people represent less than one hundred thousandth of one percent of the American populace.  This is who really controls our political discourse in the time of Citizens United, and here we see the real constituency of the Republican party.   The interests and the welfare of the entire populace of the United States are being savaged to serve the interests of these 196 people and a few hundred more like them.  This is oligarchy on a scale only imagined by Francisco Franco or Juan Peron.  This sort of thing makes a mockery of the notion that there is any sort of real democracy in this country, and tolerating it is a ticket to third world status on the level of Nigeria, Pakistan, or any other impoverished hellhole that has ever existed.

Even the vast majority of those who congratulate themselves on being in the 1%, and who think the government works for them, are just on the better off end of the mountain of dupes waiting to be sacrificed to the unbelievable avarice of these few hundred evil people, and the party which is solely dedicated to advancing their campaign to absorb every scrap of wealth in the country.

I Told You So

Sarah Palin:

"BOLLING: Governor, a lot of people are saying it can't happen. I don't necessarily agree with them. If one of the nominees, one of the GOPers, doesn't get enough delegates, it could go the a brokered convention.

If it does get to that and someone said, Governor, would you be interested, would you be interested?

PALIN:  I mean nobody is quite there yet. So I think that months from now, if that's the case...I would -- I would do whatever I could to help.

BOLLING: That's -- that's fantastic.

Fantastic.

I have insisted that this egomaniacal moron still thinks the country is going to turn to her and beg her to ascend to the Presidency, so she can singlehandedly set us on the road to redemption.  And she really believes it is going to happen.  In the entire loony bin that is the Republican pack of presidential wannabes, there is no one as loony as Sarah Palin.  And she hasn't given up yet.

Not A Damned Thing Is Sacred To Them

Here is a bit of the text of a bill introduced by Senate Republicans to attempt to further exploit the outrage of their ignorant base over simple issues of health care:

"Nothing in this title (or any amendment made
by this title) shall be construed to require an
individual or institutional health care provider,
or authorize a health plan to require a provider,
to provide, participate in, or refer for a specific
item or service contrary to the provider’s religious
 beliefs or moral convictions."

Now, let me turn for a moment to one of the great Republican demons of the last couple of years- their incessant claims that Obama and the Democrats are paving the way for Muslims to introduce Sharia law in the United States.  Of course, as with virtually any Republican claim about Democrats, this is a vicious, racist lie without a shred of foundation in the real world.

But here, in order to exploit an issue for partisan advantage, Republicans have introduced a bill in the Senate that actually licenses Muslims to legally introduce Sharia law into the country, via their businesses, thereby openly endorsing the idea that it is acceptable to force other Americans to act in accordance with Sharia law.

There is simply no act so vile and so utterly without principle that it is beneath Republicans. They will scream bloody murder about something that they know perfectly well Democrats are not doing, while at the same time unashamedly doing the same thing themselves.  I just don't know what kind of ruthless opposition is going to be necessary to get them to stop their treasonous behavior; obviously, no argument based on human decency or truth is going to work.

The Answer to Every Problem

Or, as Atrios says:

"Nobody Could Have Predicted
Except everyone not evil and/or stupid."

Austerity at work:

"Unlike Greece, Portugal is a debtor nation that has done everything that the European Union and the International Monetary Fund have asked it to, in exchange for the 78 billion euro (about $103 billion) bailout Lisbon received last May.

And yet, by the broadest measure of a country’s ability to repay its debts, Portugal is going deeper into the hole.

The ratio of Portugal’s debt to its overall economy, or gross domestic product, was 107 percent when it received the bailout. But the ratio has grown since then, and by next year is expected to reach 118 percent.

That’s not necessarily because Portugal’s overall debt is growing, but because its economy is shrinking. And economists say the same vicious circle could be taking hold elsewhere in Europe."

And anywhere else in the world where this idea is tried.  Let's face it: letting rich bankers steal all of the money and then making poor people pay it all back is not a ticket to prosperity for anyone except the rich bankers.  And yet, of course, our country is filled today with wise experts who advocate the exact same "solution" to our problems.

More for the rich- less for the poor.  The answer for everything.

Wingnut Wrapup

Man, I'm getting so sick of this crap- if the Republicans devoted as much energy to solving this nation's problems as they do to finding new ways to recycle their decades-old lies, we'd be in such good shape.

Doug Giles, Town Hall:  "Who Would Jesus Tax?"

Another brilliant bon mot from the darling of conservative intellectuals these days.  Let me explain this to you, Doug:  Jesus wouldn't tax anyone because he was not a government, but he did have something to say, didn't he, about the right of governments to tax people.  Remember that "Render unto Caesar" thing?  Probably just a slip of the tongue on Jesus' part.

Here are some of the things that this unrepentant ass thinks would happen if government was run on the principles of Jesus:

"• We’d enforce a tougher immigration policy;
• Our military would be stronger;
• We’d have a balanced budget;
• We’d see a decrease in national debt and an end to prodigal spending"

All things that Jesus talked so much about.

David Sterman, Town Hall:  "Wall Street Experts are Getting Nervous about this Rising Market"

See, even though, under Obama's leadership, the market has recovered virtually all of the thousands of points shaved off the Dow by Bush's policies, it's still only a sign that Obama can't do anything right with the economy.

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:  "Outrageous… Harry Reid Says Republicans Want to Put “Arsenic and Mercury” in the Water"

Outrageous, but true, Jim.  You forgot to mention that part.

Robert J. Mack, American Thinker:  "I'll pay my fair share of taxes when Obama and the Democrats stop spending more money than they bring in."

Listen, Robert, if you'd pay your fair share of taxes, the Democrats wouldn't be spending more than they bring in.

Debra J. Saunders, Town Hall:  "CLASS Act Is Dead, but Obama Won't Repeal It"

Debra, the President doesn't repeal things.  That's Congress' job.  When you get a little older and take eighth grade civics, you will learn all about this.

Christopher Badeaux, Red State:  "Excommunicate the Bishops."

At last!  A conservative that wants to see some consequences for them having collaborated in the routine commission of one of the most disgusting crimes know to man.  Thank you, Christopher, for speaking out!

....Oops, the reason Christopher wants to see the Bishops kicked is that they didn't throw a big enough tantrum when Obama wanted Catholic hospitals to provide birth control services.  The child rape thing seems to be okay with Christopher.  Silly me for ever thinking that a right winger would be on the decent side of any issue.

Bob Owens:  "Leftists wants women to get raped AND die of cancer "

A sterling example of conservative political analysis.

Mike Rosen, Denver Post:  "Buffett's tax fraud...His assertion is that he and the super rich pay a lower tax rate than their "secretaries and receptionists." The key word here is "rate."

Yes, those vicious Liberals have come up with a new form of dishonesty- lying by telling the truth!  How dare they!

Michael Ledeen, PJ Media:  "The Shape of the War to Come–The View from Beyond...I had gotten my freshly-rehabbed Ouija board working again, and had reached the spirit of my old friend James Jesus Angleton, formerly head of CIA’s counterintelligence team (and longtime liaison with Israeli intelligence via his buddy Teddy Kollek, Ben Gurion’s private secretary and then mayor of Jerusalem). I couldn’t think of anyone better to ask about all the war talk involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. "

Naturally, Mr. Ledeen couldn't think of anyone better to ask than a paranoid schizophrenic who is mainly know for a lunatic campaign of redbaiting persecution against honest CIA agents which almost destroyed the agency.  Which just reinforces a fundamental principle here at Green Eagle:  Never trust a person named Jesus unless he's a baseball player.

Andrew Klavan, Pajamas Media:  "Like Your Freedom? Thank a Church."

WARNING!  DO NOT read this article.  This is a task for professionals like Green Eagle.  The very idea that our freedoms came from the Christian religion is enough in and of itself to cause many a reader to sink into almost catatonic lethargy.  Actually reading the article could very well beam you into an alternate reality where Newt Gingrich is President, and Mitt Romney is the new Pope.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Victor Davis Hanson, PJ Media:  "How did Barack Obama & Co. conjure up so many demons?"

Well, he is Satan, right?  So it really shouldn't have been that hard for him to conjure up a few demons.

Eric Cantor, PJ Media:  " Not Washington’s Role to ‘Jack Up the Economy’

No, of course not, Eric.  It's government's role to help sell more guns and give more money to the rich.

David French, National Review Online:  "We’re All Catholics Now"

Hey, does that mean we can all screw little boys?

Chris Chocola, Red State:  "Our friends at Hertiage Action have a great piece out today that looks at CBO data and says that if House Republicans vote for the Highway Bill, they are basically guaranteeing a $54 billion bailout of the Highway Trust fund over the next five years....Why should taxpayers be on the hook for another unfunded government boondoggle?"

Now, of course, for the government to spend money on highways is a "bailout," a "boondoggle." Even that is apparently no longer a legitimate function of government.  Like I say, all conservatism amounts to in this country is cut my taxes.  They don't care how fast the country goes to hell, as long as they don't have to pay to keep it running.

Barry Rubin, PJ Media:  "Gulf Arab Leaders: Obama Admin. Is Biggest Threat to our Security"

What "Gulf Arab Leaders" would that be?  Well, the only "leader" Barry could find was a police chief in Dubai.  Maybe it's Joe Arpaio's brother in law.  By the way, here's part of this guy's complaint:

"The United States has granted Iran many of its dreams in the region, including the toppling of Saddam [Hussein], active presence of Iran in Iraq and the exporting of the revolution into the Arab world"

Toppling Saddam and allowing Iran into Iraq.  And that's Obama's fault?  God, these guys are pathetic.

Dennis Prager, Town Hall:  "Chris Christie on Israel -- and What It Means to Be a Leader"

Apparently, it means being a loudmouth without having one thing to do with the subject.

Rand Simberg, Pajamas Media:  "Our Benevolent Marxist Masters...Obama's budget obfuscates the difference between "need" and "desire."

Turns out poor people only "desire" food, medical care and jobs.  They don't really need them.

Steve McCann, Pajamas Media:  "How many times will the American people have to be hit over the head before they understand that Barack Obama is the most corrupt, dictatorial, and ideologically driven president in American history?"

Oh, I don't know...three, maybe four times?  Maybe only once if you hit them really hard.  How many times did it take you, Steve?

Cindy Simpson, Pajamas Media:  "Having followed the Obama "natural born" citizenship quandary since its inception, I had always viewed the controversy over Obama's birthplace and other records as a diversion from the real issue: Obama's dual citizenship precluded his constitutional eligibility."

Stupid people! they've been obsessed with an infantile, racist delusion for three years now, when they actually should have been obsessed with a totally different infantile, racist delusion.   Cindy continues:

"Following the Georgia eligibility challenges, the mainstream media had been forced to note another symptom of what they pejoratively refer to as "birtherism," since two of the three challenges centered not on Obama's birthplace, but on constitutional law and Supreme Court precedent."

Of course, Cindy neglects to mention that the judge in the "Georgial eligibility challenges" rejected them in a decision dripping with contempt.  Oh well, maybe in another three or four years, the birthers will find another low-level judge who they can temporarily delude into believing that they are serious people, rather than a bunch of cracker assholes.

Man, it's enough to make you move to Nigeria.

Santorum Is Not a Straw Man

Here's a poll that reinforces something I have been saying since I had a chance to see Rick Santorum in action a couple of weeks ago:

As ludicrous as it seems to sane people, Santorum, despite being somewhere to the right of Hermann Goering, has the ability to appeal to "independent" voters far more than Romney does.  Given the press' inevitable refusal to cover the insane inadequacy of Republican candidates, this guy, who is a master of the "aw shucks, I'm just like you all" style of politics, would be a far more formidable opponent for Obama than the marginally sane but patently hollow Romney.

It has long been obvious that the so-called independents are the most ignorant and apathetic of all voters; I am now of the belief that the main thing that characterizes them is a stress level that is just short of going nuclear, so they will inevitably side with whichever candidate they feel more comfortable with.  Of course, this is not the real candidates- who could have really been comfortable drinking a beer with the smirking oaf George W. Bush?  It's the mirage of these candidates, projected primarily by whoever has the most money (hint- that would be the Republicans.)  No one in the mainstream press is going to show any real interest in the delusions that make up Santorum's core principles.  He would get a free ride, just like Bush, while the press continues its three year long refusal to recognize that Obama saved the country from a Republican depression and set us back on the road to recovery.  And thus, we could end up with a President who makes even Bush look good in comparison.  Well, honestly, no one could do that, but you get what I mean.

Whitney Houston

Who cares?

I mean really...one more self-indulgent pop star who had money, fame, adoration of her fans, a life that is just a fantasy to ordinary people, and here you have idiots all over the media today talking about how hard things were for her, and how sensitive she was because she was an "artist."

There are plenty of people in this world who have it so tough that they deserve our sympathy.  This woman was not one of them.  She had it all and killed herself with drugs and irresponsibility.  So what?  There are plenty more pop divas where she came from, for anyone shallow enough to think such people mean anything.

I'm sorry if this makes people mad, but we've got tens of thousands of poor women being left to become victims of breast cancer, so some right wing assholes can stir up their "base" with one more bogus outrage; we have 8,000 newly revealed cases of child molestation in one Catholic diocese in this country, and we are supposed to waste our time feeling sorry for Whitney Houston?  No thanks.

P.S:  I have now seen some nauseatingly racist things about Whitney Houston at the right wing blogs, so I just want to say that I saw the Grateful Dead around sixty times, and I felt the same way when Jerry Garcia died.  This isn't about racism, it's about the failure to appreciate it when you have been dealt a wonderful hand in life.

The Idiots Leading the Idiots

Here's a Yahoo headline that makes me want to move to Mongolia:

"In CPAC keynote speech, Sarah Palin urges a long, competitive primary season"

First of all, how can it be that anyone in the country gives a damn about what Sarah Palin "thinks" or has to say?

But more importantly, how can anyone cover this deluded, stupid woman without saying straight out that there is one reason and one reason only that she is hoping for a  "long, competitive primary season-" that she still believes in her egomaniacal, sick heart that the party, failing to settle on a candidate, will turn to her as their savior, and annoint her to carry their banner like some modern day Joan of Arc, ushering in a glorious Christian Republic in which the whole country will bend to her will?

And why do we have to have our political discourse polluted by constant coverage of someone who doesn't give a God damned about anyone but herself, and whose accession to the Presidency would be a spectacle of horror that would make George W. Bush look like Franklin Roosevelt in comparison?

Of course, it makes no more sense that the press treat Gingrich or Santorum or Ron Paul as any more capable of being President than Sarah Palin; but then it was their belligerent refusal to discuss the grotesque incompetence of George Bush that is in large part responsible for our precipitous eight year descent from the greatest nation on earth to the pitiful, helpless giant that Richard Nixon feared we would become.  Of course, Nixon thought that would be brought about by implacable foreign enemies, not his own corrupt party.  Truth is stranger than fiction.

God in Heaven Above

"The bankruptcy hearings for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee have revealed more than 8,000 previously unreported instances of alleged sexual abuse of children, according to one attorney representing the victims. The charges cover a span of 60 years and implicate a group of 100 alleged offenders, including nuns, church workers and some 75 priests."

And we are supposed to take it seriously when these disgusting criminals  pretend to be all bent out of shape at the moral outrage of having to provide women with health care.  How can this country have spun so off the rails that organized child rape means nothing, and yet people will scream from now to eternity over a made-up crisis?

This is 8,000 previously unreported criminal acts in one diocese, which the Church clearly knew about all along, but hid from the public.  How can this not be a crime of the most disgusting nature?  At this point, I feel all the more secure in my belief that sexual abuse of children has undoubtedly been a central feature of the Catholic Church, all over the world, and for centuries.  This malignant criminal organization needs to not just lose its protected status, but to be stamped out.  The mere act of practicing the Catholic religion needs to be a major crime in this country, and the tens of thousands of prison cells now occupied with hapless marijuana users need to be filled with Catholic priests.

A Conservative Speaks Out

Here is a perfect sample of the mindless hatred that underlies so much of right wing cant.  It features a highly regarded conservative figure, Andrew Breitbart, having some sort of bizarre fit when confronted with protestors at a Conservative convention:

Try to watch the whole minute and a half of it.  It wonderfully captures both the irrationality and the barely hidden violence that drive so many right wingers.

The Lowest of Scum

The Catholic Church, of course, which is even now doing everything it can to interfere in American politics on behalf of the lunatics who pass for the Republican party these days.

What stirred my ire today?  An interview reported in the New York Times, with Catholic Cardinal Eddie Egan.  Egan made what was apparently a terrible mistake when he apologized because the Church was factory for manufacturing child molesters in the last few decades, and in all probability the last few centuries.  He's thought better of that now:

"Cardinal Egan said of the apology, “I never should have said that,” and added, “I don’t think we did anything wrong.”

He repeatedly denied that any sex abuse had occurred on his watch in Bridgeport. He said that even now, the church in Connecticut had no obligation to report sexual abuse accusations to the authorities. (A law on the books since the 1970s says otherwise.) And he described the Bridgeport diocese’s handling of sex-abuse cases as “incredibly good.”
On Tuesday, as criticism mounted, Cardinal Egan, who retired in 2009, released a statement, reiterating that there had never been “even one known case” of sexual abuse of a minor by a priest in his tenure in Bridgeport or New York.

Archbishop Dolan declined to comment on Cardinal Egan’s comments, but said the cardinal had always “responded appropriately and with rigor” to sex-abuse cases."

In any kind of decent society, these comments would provide all the occasion necessary to institute criminal proceedings  against Cardinal Egan and every other Catholic priest in American for their part in the largest case of child sexual abuse ever known, and to see that they all end up in prison for the rest of their lives; and that the country finally recognize that classifying this sex perversion cult as a religion for tax purposes is an enormous slap in the face of any honestly religious person.  Short of this kind of government action, the Catholic Church will never change, and a few decades from now people will be again reading headlines about more degraded behavior from this organization; which will again respond the same way, confident that eventually, people will forget, and they can get back to their Satanic business.

Man, They Don't Want Mitt

That's about all I have to say about last night's latest chapter in the Republican crash and burn.  Well, tough luck, Republicans...when you guys pushed through Citizens United with your carefully selected corrupt Supreme Court justices, and when you turned real control of your party over to the hyper-rich, you bought and paid for the guy, and now you are stuck with him.

My advice:  eat up his lies, because it's the only sustenance you are going to get between now and November.

Something Completely Different

The second movement of Beethoven's seventh symphony has always been my single favorite piece of music on earth.  Now, at long last, someone seems to have discovered what I can only assume to be the original pro tools session when Beethoven recorded it on his midi controller:

Thanks to Hullabaloo for finding this.

Republican Thinking at its Finest

From some dick named Dan Komen at National Review Online:

"Look, the beauty of free speech is that, if you’re inclined to do so, you can write a check to PP in an act of solidarity, or write a check to Komen as an expression of moral approval. That’s all fine. But there’s something quite a bit different, something creepy and not a little despicable, about the Planned Parenthood set’s besmirching Komen’s good name across a thousand platforms for having the audacity to stop giving them free money."

Yes indeed.   Republicans have already determined that spending money is a form of speech.  Now, apparently, they have decided that it is the only form of speech, and that when the Constitution that they revere so much spoke of freedom of speech, it wasn't intended that this freedom be extended to, uh, actual speech.  Next time some conservative jackass starts explaining to you what the founding fathers really meant, keep this sort of thing in mind.

Note:  No link from Green Eagle for this sort of mendacious lying.

But wait, there's more!  Not just in a right wing website, but from Kathleen Parker at the hallowed Washington Post, the Voice of the Villagers:

"Nevertheless, given the rabid response from abortion-rights supporters, you’d think that Brinker and her organization were running puppy mills for soup vendors...Don’t like it? Don’t run in Komen’s fundraising races. Don’t buy a pink blender. Give directly to Planned Parenthood."

Kathleen maunders on in this manner for a while longer, but you get the point:  When liberals disagree with the piggish behavior which is standard for conservatives, it is a vicious abuse for them to speak out, and if the piggishness is even more brazen than usual, so that a lot of people speak out, it is even worse.    Free speech in this country is in the process of being  redefined as spending money to push causes, and anything else, like say, speech, is a contemptible betrayal of our constitution.

Just a Comment on Susan Komen

There is something that cannot be ignored about this squalid episode.  It did not take place in a vacuum.  After Republicans succeeded in destroying ACORN through a campaign of lies and smears, they turned their attention to Planned Parenthood, and have been using the same filthy tactics against that organization for a year now.  The actions of the Komen foundation must be seen in the light of this ongoing campaign, and  the scorched-earth tactics of the Republican party to destroy every liberal organization, one at a time.

Viewed in this light, it is impossible to see the Komen foundation's actions as anything but a vicious political manipulation, in which women's lives are to be sacrificed in order to serve the political goals of the Republican party's real base- the super rich.  Sorry, but to think otherwise is to ignore decades of Republican behavior.

More Things that Won't Surprise You One Damned Bit

Bush paid liar press secretary Ari Fleischer served as a consultant to the Susan Komen foundation over their decision to stab Planned Parenthood in the back.

Komen- Media Covers for the Right Again

Those of you who believe, as I briefly did, that the Susan G. Komen foundation was reconsidering its piggish decision to abandon Planned Parenthood in order to kiss up to right wingers need to read this post at Daily Kos.  In fact, nothing has changed at the Komen foundation except their newest attempt to crush the public reaction to their shameful conduct.

I have one reservation with the Daily Kos article, however.  It is entitled "Lazy media reports Komen Foundation decision as 'reversal.' It isn't."

In fact the mainstream media isn't displaying laziness at all.  It is simply doing what it always does: deliberately confusing the issue in order to deflect public attention from the endlessly disgusting behavior of the right.  Now, this issue can die away, and the Komen foundation can continue its betrayal of the women that it claims to be helping, without consequences.

Wingnut Wrapup

Well, here we go...let the whining begin.

To start, here's the dumbest fucking lie you ever heard:

Tim Dunkin, Renew America:  "Robin Hood was a right-wing Republican.  There's a reason the Robin Hood story — as it actually is — resonates with conservatives. It's because we know that wealth redistribution, and the ever-increasing burden of taxation upon the productive classes needed to sustain it, are inherently unjust."

There are no words in any language on this planet that can even begin to express how stupid this is, so I'll just move on, if you don't mind.

Senator Marco Rubio:  "Sen. Marco Rubio on the SOTU: "The President Is on the Verge of Committing Economic Malpractice"

What would that make George W. Bush?  The Charlie Manson of Economics?

Thomas Sowell, Town Hall:  "This may be the golden age of presumptuous ignorance. The most recent demonstrations of that are the Occupy Wall Street mobs. It is doubtful how many of these semi-literate sloganizers could tell the difference between a stock and a bond."

But they can tell the difference between an honest man and a crook.  That puts them one step ahead of you, buddy.

Erick Erickson, Red State:  "Barack Obama’s State of the Union is all about letting you know that government is going to do everything for you and when it can’t keep its promises, it will take from the successful and give to you."

Late news: Erick wishes to issue a public apology.  He was accidentally listening to a State Of the Union speech delivered on another planet by an alien leader.

Daniel Horowitz:  "One of the most salient messages from Obama’s State of the Union Address is that he is unwilling to take responsibility for any of his failures.  Instead, he took credit for successful policies that he opposed, and ascribed blame on others for failed policies that he supported."

Daniel wishes to apologize also.  He was listening to a replay of a Newt Gingrich speech taking credit for Clinton's successes, all of which Newt violently opposed at the time.

Barry Rubin, Pajamas Media:  "Where the 'Counter-Obama' View of the Middle East Is Right and Where It’s Wrong"

Let's make this simple for you:  Where it's right-nowhere.  Where it's wrong- everywhere.  Unless you think it was a really brilliant idea to spend two trillion dollars on a military catastrophe of epic proportions.

Bryan Preston, Pajamas Media:  "The State of the Election Address"

Oh my God- President Obama is running for re-election.  Impeachment!!!!

Victor Davis Hanson:  "The news media seem obsessed with the serial affairs of a younger Newt Gingrich back in the last century.  At some point, does long-ago adultery earn a statute of limitations?"

Well, apparently, they are still vitally important to you when they involve Bill Clinton, a Democrat who hasn't held public office for over ten years.  But anyway, if Newt could be referred to as "young" when he was about 52 years old, could you please tell us how old he was when he finally grew up?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Michael Barone, Town Hall:  "Unlike Obama, GOP Candidates Talk Seriously About Governing"

Are you kidding me?  Obama IS governing, in case you haven't noticed and he saved the country from a Republican depression and finally rescued us from a colossal Republican military blunder, while you guys did everything you could to stop him. Smoke on that, sucka.

David P. Goldman:  "Obama in Foreign Policy Hell...It won't decide the 2012 election, but the meltdown of Barack Obama's Islamophile foreign policy has to hurt. "

And when exactly did it melt down?  When he got Osama Bin Laden?  Or when he helped remove dictators in Egypt or Libya?  Or maybe it was when he spent two trillion dollars invading the wrong country.  Oh, wait a minute, that wasn't him.  That was your guy.  And by the way speaking of the your guy, talk about Islamophile:

Alan Caruba:  "Obama has always operated in a fantasy world where mere words are supposed to translate into reality.  He is, after all, his own invention: the author of two memoirs of a life that had little achievement to point to other than getting elected first to the Illinois legislature and then to the Senate where he lingered a bare two years before running for president."

Little achievement to point to other than, uh, going from a poor background to Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review, becoming a professor of Constitutional law, getting elected to the Illinois legislature and the United States Senate before becoming President of the United States.  What a pathetic resume.

Alan, one of my favorite liars, continues:

"Then there are all the vacations Obama and his family takes. They have one thing in common. They are ostentatiously expensive. Obama or Michelle always seem to be going on vacation or returning from one. The characterization may be unfair, but perception is everything."

The characterization may be unfair?  Translation:  I know I'm lying, but so fucking what?  Who is going to stop me?

But wait! There's More:

"Americans are very keen on their military and, of all the government programs Obama could have chosen to trim, he's had the knives out for the Pentagon since he took office."

Of course, Obama actually increased the military budget.  But like I said, when Alan gets to telling his lies, who is going to stop him?  Believe me, there's more lying where this came from, but Alan really doesn't deserve any more of Green Eagle's attention.

Sarah Palin:  "We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent. "

The politics of personal destruction- a leftist tactic.  Somebody up there in Alaska has been dipping a bit too heavily into the fermented yak juice.

Mike Adams, Town Hall:  "Someone once asked me whether I would abort Adolf Hitler if I knew in advance he would try to launch a Holocaust against millions of Jews. I said I would not. That is because aborting Hitler would not have prevented the Holocaust. It would have justified it."

Yes indeed, folks, abortion justifies exterminating the Jews.  Of course it does.  Actually, I guess anything the left does justifies mass extermination by right wingers.

Michelle Malkin, Town Hall:  "First, They Came for the Catholics...President Obama and his radical feminist enforcers have had it in for Catholic medical providers from the get-go. It's about time all people of faith fought back against this unprecedented encroachment on religious liberty. First, they came for the Catholics. Who's next?"

Michelle, I think the quote was "first they came for the Jews."  And that time they killed them, not forced them to provide decent medical care to everyone.  "This unprecedented encroachment on religious liberty" indeed.  Really, I think killing people was worse.  Think about it.

Mark Calabria, Town Hall:  "I have to wonder if Obama even has the slightest clue what he is talking about. As someone who’d like to see government come to a halt, let me assure you, it isn't. "

Huh?  Has this guy been taking grammar lessons from Sarah Palin?

Paul Kregor, Town Hall:  "The Obama Mandate to Catholics: "To Hell With You?"

The Catholic Mandate to Little Boys:  Bend Over in the Shower.  Seriously, how can anyone be so vile and callous as to give a God damn what the Catholic Church has to say about anything.  What next, will Republicans be screaming about things that interfere with the "rights" of heroin dealers?"

Gateway Pundit:  "Congressman Issa On Obama Green Job Failure: “We Would Have Done Better Throwing The Money Out A Window”

I wonder how Congressman Issa feels about the Bush Iraq failure thing.  If we'd just thrown the two trillion out the window, at least we wouldn't have five thousand dead soldiers.

Allen West, Town Hall:  "The Days of Conservatives Being Punching Bags Are Over"

Luckily for Green Eagle, the days of them being brain-dead assholes are still here.

See you soon.

A Little Note About Jobs

Knowing that we are about to experience a ten month onslaught of Republican lies about Obama's supposed responsibility for our rotten economy, I want to try to assemble some of the real evidence.  Here's a little chart of unemployment claims since January 2007:

I think this chart is pretty self-explanatory.  Here's a further interesting piece of information, the figures for job growth for the last several Januaries:

January 2008: +13,000
January 2009: -820,000
January 2010: -39,000
January 2011: +68,000
January 2012: +243,000

I'm sure you can get the message here pretty easily.

Obama Preaches- The Right Freaks

Obama made an appearance in church, and predictably, right wingers everywhere have worked themselves up into a fury.  Here's a typical example, from the dicks at Red State:

"While Obama may have been correct in saying that government mandated, shared responsibility is equal to the Islamic belief that those who’ve been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, he is incorrect to group in Jesus’ teaching, “for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.”  Aside from the fact that Jesus was discussing requirements from God, not the government, he was actually teaching his disciples that they were stewards of God’s gift of Revelation. Their requirement was to spread the good news of Jesus Christ."

Yes, even when he's in Church, he is practicing Islam.  Well, stupid Green Eagle, not having been able to figure out yet that, if it's on a right wing website it must be true, went to another source:

"The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. 44 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45 But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

Funny, it never occurred to Jesus to describe the servants being beaten for not spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, but for abusing those beneath them and not taking care of their physical needs.  Well, I guess God isn't capable of saying what he really means, or maybe he has taken to speaking in a code language which can only be understood by those whose hearts are rotted with greed.

Listen, it's no secret that there isn't a Republican that can tell the truth about a single thing having to do with Obama.  That's not what interests me here.  It's that they spend half their waking hours shrieking  about their love of Jesus and the inerrancy of the Bible, but as soon as Jesus' back is turned, they twist his plain words into an abominable apologia for their worst depravities.  This is the behavior of truly degraded people.

Ron Paul- Aryan Supremacist- Again

So, it's time to beat up on Ron Paul again.  First, let me say something about Anonymous- not the poster on my website, but the hacker organization.  My older son, who was involved with 4chan for a long time back in the day is convinced that anonymous is nothing but a collection of teenage nerds out to take their frustrations out on the world.  Here's a case where he is wrong- Anonymous has done a considerable service to us by hacking into the computers of an organization called "American Third Position" to reveal their connections with Ron Paul.

Second, let me say that I am doing this for the record, so I'm sure that not that many people will follow all of the links here.  But the mainstream press is as usual giving a pass to a Republican candidate, in this case going so far as to ignore his willing collaboration with neo-Nazi, Aryan supremacist groups.  I have documented some of this before, and unfortunately, here is more.

So first, what, exactly, is "American Third Position?"  For an answer to that, I want to turn to an entry in the Southern Poverty Legal Center's intelligence files:

"The American Third Position is a political party initially established by racist Southern California skinheads that aims to deport immigrants and return the United States to white rule. The group is now led by a coterie of prominent white nationalists...Its members believe that whites deserve a nation of their own and that non-whites endanger white culture and society.

To appeal to extremists without upsetting less radical supporters, Johnson has used coded language to indicate his ties to the white supremacist movement. Compare Johnson’s statement from a video address, “We … embrace principles that will secure the existence of our people and a future for our children” with the late white supremacist terrorist David Lane’s “14 Words”: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The “14 Words” are derived from a passage in Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf and are a rallying cry for neo-Nazis and white supremacists in the United States."

These are almost random excerpts from this article- you are of course welcome to  click on the link and read the whole thing.  You might also look at this, which contains further information about the "American Third Position" party.

Now, on to Ron Paul and his association with this neo-Nazi group.  The International Business Times, a British publication, reports:

"Members of the nationalist American Third Position Party (A3P), whose website was defaced by Anonymous, organised Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul's meetings and campaigns, according emails hacked by the collective.

Chairman of the British National Party (BNP) Nick Griffin also took part in meetings with Paul and other representatives of A3P.

"According to these messages, Ron Paul has regularly met with many A3P members, even engaging in conference calls with their board of directors," read a statement from Anonymous....

It also claims that Paul received financial support from other white power groups, such as the online hate forum Stormfront, founded by Don Black, a white supremacist. There is even a photograph of Paul with Black, a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and a current member of the American Nazi Party. Paul allegedly refused to return donations from Black and Stormfront. Black told The New York Times that Paul's newsletter had inspired him to become a supporter."

This is, of course, consistent with similar contacts between Ron Paul and other Aryan Supremacist groups, previously reported here at Green Eagle.  For those who don't know, by the way, the British National Party is a neo-Nazi organization, which can trace its antecedents back to Oswald Moseley and the National Front, which supported Hitler in Britain during the thirties and World War II.

If you are interested in wading through the material hacked by Anonymous, you should be able to find it here.

Here's a recent picture of Ron Paul with a couple of members of this organization, from the invaluable Little Green Footballs, where I first heard about this piece of the Ron Paul story. Incidentally, the guy to the left of Ron Paul is the aforemementioned Don Black, the operator of Stormfront, the number one Aryan Supremacist site on the internet.  This picture was taken at a Values Voters meeting.  Some values, huh?

Naturally, this story had to come from a foreign news source.  I googled "Ron Paul American Third Position" and checked the first six pages of hits, in which the only mainstream story was one from a newspaper in Dallas.  No national papers, no cable news networks, nothing.  A major Republican Presidential candidate associating with neo-Nazis is far less newsworthy than what everyone knows to be utterly bogus Republican lies about Obama being a Communist.

But He's Been a Complete Failure on the Economy

Here's what happens when you have a Democrat in the White House:

"U.S. stocks had a big January and they're starting February strong, too.  Stocks rose more than 1 percent in afternoon trading on the first day of February. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 136 points, its biggest gain since Jan. 3. Wednesday's gains followed the stock market's best January in 15 years.

Wednesday's gains were pushed by strong manufacturing data and positive signals from Greece.
U.S. factories boosted output in January by the most in seven months, according to the Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index. And the Commerce Department said construction spending rose 1.5 percent in December for the fifth consecutive monthly gain...ADP said private-sector employment rose by 170,000 from December to January."

That compares to the loss of 700,000 jobs a month when the last miserable President finally left the White House, a stock market and dollar whose value had been essentially cut in half, and the worst economic collapse in eighty years.

And Obama's accomplishments took place in the face of the treasonous three year campaign by Republicans to deliberately damage the economy, for their own partisan advantage.

But don't worry...the Mainstream media will spend the next few days explaining to all of us how this is good news for the Republicans, and then we can go back to debating whether or not Obama really is a Kenyan Muslim Communist bent on destroying the United States- the issue the election will really be fought around.

Republicanism in a Sentence

Courtesy of Mitt Romney:

“I’m not concerned with the very poor."

Get Ready, Here It Comes Again

So...Grover Norquist.  He was never elected to anything, never served in any position of service to the people of this country.  He's a lobbyist.  And yet, the Republicans have made him probably the most powerful person in their party, and one of the most powerful in the country.  You can't name a Republican that dares stand up to this guy, and any Republican who says anything that angers him issues a grovelling apology within days.  So, what does this Grover Norquist have to say lately?

"Obama can sit there and let all the tax [cuts] lapse, and then the Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate in 2014 to impeach. The last year, he’s gone into this huddle where he does everything by executive order. He’s made no effort to work with Congress."

No effort to work with Congress.  No effort to work with a pack of Republican mad dogs who have openly stated that their fondest desire is not to serve the country but to destroy him.  Of course, he has bent over backwards to work with these people, who have also bent over backwards- to see that he can accomplish nothing.

And now, here it comes...impeachment.  Did you think the Republicans would actually let Obama serve two terms as President without resorting to this miserable game again?  Why would they, when the Democrats allowed them to pull this stunt last time without exacting a shred of accountability for the worst abuse of Congressional power in the history of the country?

Let's take a brief walk down history's byways, back to the nineties.  From the time Bill Clinton was elected, the Republicans engaged in an endless campaign to brand him as a criminal.  First, they took some absolutely normal investment he and Hillary had made, and spent tens of millions of dollars trying to represent this as a gigantic financial crime.  When that didn't work, they absolutely went off the deep end and accused him of everything from being an international drug dealer, to a serial rapist, to being responsible for over fifty murders, many of them people he didn't have a thing to do with.  Finally, all of these vicious smears having failed, the Republicans impeached him for a minor sexual impropriety, thus permanently and deliberately staining the image of a man who led the country through eight years of successful foreign policy while creating a budget surplus out of the gigantic debt left by the previous two Repubican presidents; and in the process they placed in office the worst president in our history.

Here, for those who hadn't figured this out long ago, is Clinton reminiscing:

"I had a fascinating meeting with Bob Inglis the other day. Bob Inglis was an extremely conservative Republican congressman from South Carolina. He was a three-term-pledge guy in the nineties.... So he came to me and he said, "I just want you to know, when you got elected, I hated you. And I asked to be on the Judiciary Committee in 1993, because a bunch of us had already made up our minds that no matter what you did or didn't do, we were going to find some way to impeach you. We hated you. You had no right to be president."

I remember stating the obvious at the time: the Republicans were determined from the beginning to impeach Clinton, and spent six years finding an excuse to do it.  When they couldn't actually manufacture any high crimes or misdemeanors, they did what they did, and if that hadn't worked they would have impeached him for jaywalking.  When I would say this, I would be greeted with endless denials from those who just wouldn't face how anti-American the Republican party had become.  Well, I was right then, and I'm right now when I talk about what they are planning, in case Obama defeats their corporate vulture and wins another term.

Well, back to Norquist:

"Obama can sit there and let all the tax [cuts] lapse, and then the Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate in 2014 to impeach. The last year, he’s gone into this huddle where he does everything by executive order. He’s made no effort to work with Congress."

Here's the new doctrine of the Republican party, straight from the mouth of its oracle- Impeachment 2.0.  To hell with the Constitution. No longer is it necessary to even pretend that a Democratic president has done anything wrong in order to impeach him.  Simply refusing to do exactly what Repubican lobbyists demand is enough.  And anyone who thinks this is an idle threat, and that this is not exactly what will happen if the American people are stupid enough to give the Republicans a big enough majority in Congress, is a fool.

So, fasten your seat belts.  This is what we have to look forward to if Obama wins reelection- a vicious, infantile display from the Republican party that will make the impeachment of Clinton look like a birthday party.  And if, by any chance, they should succeed, the end of the United States in any form we can recognize.
