Mmm yes. This woman sure seems angry about something. Did her old man forget to fix the bathroom sink again? Or maybe he has been violating his Christian oath by lusting after Lynne Cheney. But there I go, wandering off again.
Well, apparently, Tina fell for some bogus chain e-mail about Obama relocating Hamas members to the United States, and left this comment in some God forsaken corner of the web:
"I'm peeved,,, when people in this country is getting kicked out of there homes everyday and our government passes a bill to spend more then 20 billion dollars to bring Hamas here and supplies them with food and homes that just wrong."
And it would be wrong, wouldn't it, if it were true? Listen, girl, maybe they will have a nice GED program in that federal prison where you are going to be spending time, so at least when you post your stupid right wing lies online, you won't sound like you are as ignorant as a baboon.
Update: And this tidbit, from the Detroit News:
"Detroit -- A member of a radical militia group told others he killed his cat with a handgun as part of his training for a pending war against law enforcement, a federal prosecutor said today in U.S. District Court in Detroit."
"It's a chilling prospect, but one that seems more and more plausible: What if Fox News actually wants mob violence?"
What if? What if all of them on the right want mob violence? You know, it's worked for them before:
The Sturmabteilung were nothing but a mob, whose violence became so unsettling that it led the senile President Hindenberg to make Hitler Reichschancellor in the vain hope that it would stop his terrorism. This was one of the worst political miscalculations in history, and we should learn from it that we cannot give this kind of behavior any latitude whatsoever.
I know that there are a thousand right wing websites out there calling liberals brownshirts and Nazis. There is only one difference between them and me: As usual, as a liberal, I am telling the truth. They are just telling one more fascist-enabling lie. If you think those Hutaree morons are as bad as it can get, you'd better think again. There are plenty of these sociopathic maniacs out there who are not terminally incompetent as a result of apparent inbreeding.
"Palin Left Alaska With Debts Equal to 70 Percent of Its GDP
...a higher ratio than Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, India, the Philippines or Uruguay."
Boy, couldn't she do wonders for our country if she were president. Sarah Palin could make George W. Bush look good in comparison. But they love her, don't they?

And they are thoroughly screwed. Since their nineteenth century decision that the Pope is infallible, it is pretty difficult to force him out if he doesn't want to go. And who would want to go, what with the great houses, the pretty dresses and all? And since he never has to go out in what the rest of us would call public, he can really isolate himself from our contempt.
Anyone who followed this guy's career before he became Pope knows that human decency was never his strong point, so I don't think we can count on his conscience to suddenly manifest itself.
Well, I'm sticking my neck out here, but this is my prediction: Unfortunately, I believe that Pope Benedict is soon going to suffer a totally unexpected "heart attack." I can't see any other way for the Church to sweep all of this back under the rug at this point.
What do you think?
There was one major exception: Confederate Yankee, who has often made it into Wingnut Wrapup for his belligerent commentary has been very forthright about these people and the danger that groups like this pose, and I want to thank him for his honesty.
Now, on with the lunacy:
Laura Hollis, Town Hall: " More “Hateful” Propaganda from the Left"
As usual, this can be roughly translated as "they dared to tell the truth about us."
Allen Hunt, Town Hall: "For the past few years, Pew surveys have shown that 12% of Americans believed Obama was a Muslim. For some reason, according to a recent Harris poll, that number has now skyrocketed to about 33% of Americans. What is driving this obsession with misidentifying our president's faith life?"
What is driving this obsession? YOU and people like you who keep lying about Obama, that's what. What do you think is causing it, idiot? Here's more perverted logic from this guy:
"Perhaps the persistence of the rumor, and its recent expansion in numbers of adherents, has something to do with the divisive first year of Obama's administration. Many Americans simply do not like President Obama at all. The reasons are many. Labeling Obama a Muslim feels viscerally good to many a voter. After all, many in the Muslim world would seek to destroy America."
The "persistence of the rumor" has everything to do with the fact that your fellow Republicans keep telling this lie over and over again. Period. That's the whole story, and the story of Obama the communist, Obama the socialist, Obama the racist and every other smear you spread. It's like Jeffrey Dahmer wondering why human body parts keep appearing in his refrigerator. Stop making it happen, and it will stop happening.
Mike Adams, Town Hall: "I would not likely enjoy spending time in prison. But I simply cannot imagine paying federal taxes that could be used to fund abortion. I just cannot resign myself to complicity in the murder of the unborn. I can more easily see myself going to trial and throwing myself on the mercy of a jury of my peers."
Fine, Mike. It's your choice. Then you can spread your antitax rhetoric while the government spends $100,000 or so per year to support you.
Don't forget though, there is a big downside- the Federal Prison system isn't likely to supply you with as many Cheetos as your mother.
Washington Times Editorial: "Dems play the terror card...Democrats last week began a well-orchestrated campaign to change the subject from Obamacare by declaring Republicans the newest terrorist threat."
Because naturally, there is nothing Dems would rather do than change the subject from their biggest victory in forty years. That makes sense.
Henry Lamb, Renew America: "People who believe that health care is a right instead of a privilege embrace a fundamental principle of Marxism."
I guess that makes Winston Churchill, who believed universal health care was a human right, a communist.
Joan Swirsky, Renew America: "Obama birth certificate issue more urgent than ever"
Because our other smears didn't work, and we're getting the crap beat out of us. And it's been months now since we've been able to think of a good new lie.
I thought you might like to see a picture of Joan, who has the finest girl-mullet I have ever seen.
The Babe in the Bunker, World Net Daily: "With the election of Barack Obama and his gang of political henchmen in the White House, aided and abetted by the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and their acolytes in Congress, it is difficult, if not impossible at this point, for anyone who disagrees with their socialist/Marxist philosophy to even have their voices heard. "
Does that include you, oh Babe in the Bunker? Because it seems to me that you are having no trouble getting your voice heard. No matter how stupid and contentious what you have to say is.
Jerome Corsi, Renew America: "Will nuclear batteries power our cars?"
Imagine that. Have a car crash, and nobody can drive on that road for 10,000 years.
Robert M. Engstrom, Human Events: "Palin Declares 'Harry, You're Fired' at Tea Party in Nevada"
Sarah, don't gloat, just because nobody can fire you. That's only because you quit.
Astute Bloggers: "A black man happens to be at the helm of the ship of state, hellbent on turning the land of the free and the home of the brave into a Euro-style progressivist utopian nightmare, but what does that have to do with slavery? "
Well, look at it this way...No, on second thought, forget it. You'll never figure it out.
Michael Zak, Big Government: "In 1935, Sinclair Lewis wrote a novel that envisioned a political tragedy akin to the Obama administration"
What, you mean a right wing takeover of the United States? You see, you liar, I have actually read that book, and that's what it is about. So here we go, just one more dirty wingnut con man let out of his cage to annoy us.
Rebecca Hagelin, Town Hall: "Hannity carefully documents how the Obama administration and the radical left agenda are quickly destroying our children’s future."
By keeping them healthy. Boy, that will destroy them, alright. Of course, Bush and Cheney giving all their money to rich people was just fine for their future.
Helen Smith, Pajamas Media: "How Should Conservatives Deal with the Left's Disrespect and Lack of Empathy?"
How about not acting like a bunch of whining, lying babies?
Frank Fleming, Pajamas Media: "It is often said about terrorism: “They only have to win once; we have to win every time.”...It’s a lot like that with liberals...So are liberals just like terrorists? Now, most people, when asked that question, would immediately answer, “Why, yes, of course.”
Sure they would, Frank. Clinton, JFK, Roosevelt- all terrorists. God, it is beyond my comprehension how people can write things like this without vomiting on their keyboards.
Bryan Fischer, Renew America: "Nothing "Christian" about the Christian militia groups"
You wish, bucko. Your lies created them, and now you own them. An this time around, there are a lot of us that are not going to just sit there and let people forget that.
Dan Riehl, Riehl World View: "It's Official, Obama's A Disgrace: Labels Tea Parties A Birther Movement. Frankly, I don't care where this punk was born. He's unworthy of the office he holds."
What, because he told the truth? That's why he is now officially a disgrace and a punk? Well, screw you, Dan. Look in the mirror the next time you want to see a disgrace and a punk.
Dan Riehl, Riehl World View: "Compassionate Progressives Mock Death Of Sean Hannity's Dog"
Actually, there isn't a single thing in his article to support this claim. What someone did say is that Hannity seemed more concerned about the death of a dog than he did about the deaths of people without medical care. But this is what wingnuts are reduced to- The biggest crime progressives have committed is to mock the death of a dog. And it isn't even true. Boy, the right wing muck barrel is empty these days.
Monday, March 29, 2010
I'm not going to waste time going over the clear facts about these two events. Let me just state the plain truth:
Ruby Ridge is about a bunch of dicks that shot at federal agents and got more than they bargained for. Which is what anyone who shoots at a federal agent trying to serve a legal warrant should get.
Waco was a government mistake. You know what the mistake was? Being unable to believe that a bunch of people who called themselves religious would burn their children to death before they would come out to answer charges for a relatively minor crime. Sad to say, we know better now.
Both of these incidents were the result of a combination of stupidity, viciousness, and a steady diet of right wing lies and hatred. You might as well get ready for more of this sort of thing. The political right has moved so far downward since the early nineties that we will be lucky if that's as bad as it gets.
Are you surprised by the, uh, how shall I put this, homogeneity of these patriots? No, you're not surprised?
I do sort of wonder if these eight people, between them, could provide a total IQ of 120. Not that I'm judging a book by its cover. Wait, I am judging this book by its cover. And I'm right too. So there.
There just is no end to the sexual deviance of Republican officials, is there?
No words on earth could make this guy and his party bigger jokes than they already are.
The United Nations' agency findings echo the recent findings of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, which concluded the period from 2000 to 2009 was the warmest since modern temperature record keeping began in the 1850s."
This item was followed by several dozen comments by ignorant climate deniers, repeating their tired, worn out lies.
Via Talking Points Memo, here are a couple of excerpts:
"NINE MEMBERS OF A MILITIA GROUP CHARGED WITH SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY AND RELATED CHARGES Six Michigan residents, along with two residents of Ohio and a resident of Indiana, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Detroit on charges of seditious conspiracy, attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, teaching the use of explosive materials, and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence, United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade and FBI Special Agent in Charge Andrew Arena announced today.
According to the indictment, Hutaree members view local, state, and federal law enforcement as the "brotherhood", their enemy, and have been preparing to engage them in armed conflict. The indictment further alleges that the Hutaree planned to kill an unidentified member of local law enforcement and then attack the law enforcement officers who gather in Michigan for the funeral. According to the plan, the Hutaree would attack law
enforcement vehicles during the funeral procession with Improvised Explosive Devices..."
Well, here we go. This is just one group of violent lunatics. There are hundreds more out there. How many of them will manage to carry out their insane plots before the feds find them?
And a word of thanks, to Sarah Palin and all the other Republican patriots out there who have done everything they can to encourage this sort of person to feel entitled to their violent rages.

"Obviously Dragon is ignorant of the meaning of democracy. The United States constitution creates a representative republic. The root word of democracy is demagogue."
You can't make stuff like this up.
National Origin for Confederate Southern Americans
Don Curtis Terrill, an employee at the US Department of Labor, wanted to participate in a 1998 government sponsored "Diversity Day" celebration by entering a booth celebrating his heritage as a Confederate American. The Department of Labor responded by saying that there was no such thing as a "Confederate American." Mr. Terrill filed an EEOC complaint charging national origin discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. National origin is defined by the EEOC as the PLACE where your ancestors came from. Mr. Terrill's Ancestors came from the Confederate States of Virginia, Georgia and Texas - places, which. at the time, were not part of the United States.
Our litigation sought to expand the interpretation of "National Origin," to broaden its protection (EEOC states that National Origin is to be interpreted broadly). The institutional federal bias against civil rights for Confederate Southern Americans will probably take years to overcome. Mr. Terrill started this historic progression in 1998. We will not stop until Confederate Southern Americans are afforded the civil rights afforded other Americans - even if it takes 60 years!"
I can't wait for the companion lawsuit demanding civil rights for Nazis, based on the premise that their ancestors once lived in the Third Reich.
And believe me, I only bookmarked their site because I was afraid everyone would think I must have made this one up.
37 North Carolina
42 West Virginia
46 South Carolina
Notice anything about this list?
If you need help figuring it out, here is a map of red states and blue states, with these states marked with an X:
Blue States 0
Leaning blue 2
Leaning red 8
Red States 7
Just to add insult to injury, except for Texas and Nevada, all of these states are net tax receivers from the federal government. Yes, fellow blue state residents, as I have pointed out before, we are paying to keep these neanderthals afloat economically, while they do everything they can to see to it that the United States is the worst country it can possibly be.
And think how much better off we would have been if we'd just let the rotten Confederate third world states fend for themselves, in a world where their hatred and their greed would be of no use to them at all.
" The FBI conducted raids Saturday night in Washtenaw County and Lenawee County in an investigation involving members of Hutaree, a Christian-oriented militia group based in Lenawee County, AnnArbor.com has learned."
Because nothing says "Christian" like dressing up like soldiers and running around in the woods.
If you care to learn more about these idiots, here is their website. It has other features that really remind me of Jesus- a camouflage backing, and a section of advice about buying guns.
Boy, no matter how stupid your group is, there are some people who will fall for it.
Update: From Fox News, of all sources:
"Seven people have been arrested for allegedly selling pipe bombs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, Fox News has learned.
The arrests and raids in Michigan and Indianapolis are related to alleged militia activity in the region, but are not related to international terrorism. There is not a current threat to the public, according to a law enforcement source."
They are not related to international terrorism. I wonder if we can think of any other kind. And extremists with pipe bombs is not a current threat to the public. On the other hand, a guy who set his underwear on fire on an airplane is enough to send the whole right into shreiking fits of terror.

David Limbaugh, Town Hall: "The Democrats' corrupt, sleazy and undemocratic methods to cram socialized medicine down our throats were only exceeded by the horrifying substance of the bill itself. But the bell has rung on round one. Round two begins, and we'd better come out swinging."
How can you, when you are already out cold on the mat? David, here's some advice for you: Just collect the money for the job that your brother bought you, and keep your mouth shut. Really, it would work out better for all of us.
Paul Greenberg, Town Hall: "Have you ever seen a more gleeful bunch of politicians than the Democratic leadership of the House as they prepared to ram the health-care bill or bills into law? "
No, I'm not sure I have. At least since you guys gave rich people the biggest tax cut since Calvin Coolidge. You were really happy about that. Worked out great, too.
Martin Light, Red State: " Cui Bono?: When “Attacks” And “Death Threats” Are … Convenient. Who Benefits From All These "Attacks" & "Death Threats" On Democrats? Why ... Democrats."
So they must have attacked themselves. I guess that's the idea, you pathetic lying dick. You know all those violent, ignorant, greedy crazy people running around? You broke 'em- you bought 'em.
Confederate Yankee: "A Special Prosecutor for Barack?"
For passing legislation and keeping his campaign promise?
And then the impeachment, right? I mean, we would have been fools if we didn't know from the very beginning that that's what you had in store for the negro.
Confederate Yankee: "During a series of late night/early morning votes designed to keep the public's eye of the behavior of Democrats, the Senate parliamentarian discovering a pair of rule violations that will send Obamacare back to the House for another contentious round of voting: Procedurally, this is merely a bump in the road for Democrats, but it is going to be explosive politically."
Yeah, how did that one work out for you? Not so good at losing, are you, Mr. Yankee?
Newsmax: "Cantor: Democrats 'Fanning Flames' With Talk of Partisan Violence...House Republican Whip Eric Cantor revealed that someone had fired a bullet through his campaign office this week. "
Of course, just like everything Republicans ever say, that turned out to be false, and Cantor knew damned well that it was, when he said it. Pretty funny, considering he attacked the Democrats who mentioned the real attacks on them for engaging in political exploitation.
Jackie Gingrich Cushman: "Healthcare Reform Should Come From Markets, not Mandates"
And let me ask you one question there, Jackie. We've waited about a hundred years for healthcare reform to come from markets. What happened?
And by the way, how did you get your job? Just wondering, you being Newt's sister and all.
George Louvis, American Thinker: "When Will Liberals Give the Tea Party the Same Respect They Give Radical Islam?"
We do, George. Just the same. Because to us, you are both alike.
Ann Kane, American Thinker: "Is the left responsible for the unstable political atmosphere? These disruptive happenings stink of a script right out of community organizers' playbook"
Aah, another wingnut trying to convince people that right wing violence is all some sort of liberal plot. Sorry, Ann. Didn't work.
And now this story:"A Nevada asphalt contractor who faces a legal challenge to his Tea Party of Nevada candidacy for U.S. Senate was hit Friday with felony theft and bad check charges in Las Vegas that allege he bounced a $5,000 business check last year."
And how does Moe Lane of Red State report this story: "Reid’s Nevadan stalking horse up on criminal charges." Yup. A tea party candidate turns out to be a criminal (surprise, surprise) and so he must be a Democratic plant. Not one shred of evidence to support this claim, but since when did that stop a Republican?
And Confederate Yankee jumps on this particular train to hell: "Harry Reid's Last, Best Hope Facing Felony Charges"
No facts there either.
And here's Pajamas Media's take: "The group, established merely weeks ago, is attempting to trade on the name of the grassroots tea party movement...they seem to be an odd mix of cranks and conspiracy theorists"
Boy, that really sets them apart from real teabaggers, doesn't it?
Dan Riehl, Riehl World View: "RNC To DNC: Pound Sand, You Losers!"
Losers. How do you make fun of that? Losers. They lost because they won. You keep believing that, Dan.
And then there's this wonderful comment from a new right wing website:
"Welcome to our newest grassroots Web site, Republican For A Reason.
Paid for by the Republican National Committee"
Grassroots. Paid for by the Republican National Committee. There you go.
And finally, this tasteful comment:
The Mad Jewess: "It’s Nazi Pelosi’s Birthday~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY B*TCH!"
I love the fact that Ms. Jewess feels free to openly call Nancy Pelosi a Nazi and a bitch, but she's just too sensitive and delicate to actually spell bitch straight out. Glad you're keeping your sense of honor there, lady.
Friday, March 26, 2010
"It's increasingly clear who's the power behind Obama's gangsta throne. George Soros provides the money, but Andy Stern and SEIU provide the muscle. And by the Democrats' blatant signaling to their purple-shirted men in the street, it's clear they have already planned and coordinated their next crime spree.
Gibbs and Andy Stern wear matching purple bracelets
The bracelet is kind of a signal to tell Stern that the administration has it under control and ObamaCare will be delivered. Just a few more Democrats need to be shown the Chicago way."
As has been widely reported after someone asked Gibbs about it, the purple bracelets are in honor of a little girl they both know who is fighting cancer.
But no, according to Pam, it is some kind of secret signal of a huge, evil conspiracy. This is where the whole wingnut, teabagging world is going. Let's just hope they don't take us all with them.
"David Frum, the conservative pundit and former Bush White House speechwriter, has left his longtime perch at the American Enterprise Institute -- and some observers wondering whether the move was triggered by his recent criticism of the GOP."
These "think tanks" like AEI, the Heritage Foundation, the Hoover Institute and so many more, are nothing but ways that the corporate right has of directing large salaries toward anyone willing to spew their lies. All it takes for a long-time right wing propagandist to be thrown off the bus is a single incident of criticism directed toward the Republican party. This will serve as a lesson to all others who are on their malicious gravy train to keep their mouths shut if they ever think of telling the truth.
Via these propaganda mills, the right is able to take a professor earning $80,000 a year or so, and pay him a salary of several hundred thousand, plus get him a couple of dozen speaking engagements every year at $10,000 or so a pop, and if he is good enough at telling their lies, a whole bunch of appearances on Fox news or CNN for a few thousand each; and if he writes a book, they will see to it that several hundred thousand copies are sold to right wing groups. Voila! A couple of years of this dirty dealing, and he's a millionaire with a nice summer house on Nantucket. Not everyone gives in to this bribery, but plenty of people think it's a great deal.
But take one step out of line, speak the truth once after decades of toeing the line, and you're out on the street, buddy.
Update: This just in, from wingnut Dan Riehl: "Frum: Just One More Job Lost Thanks To Obama"
Yes, it's Obama's fault that Frum was fired from his right wing lie factory job for telling the truth once in ten years. Green Eagle is always harping on the inability of conservatives to take a shred of responsibility for anything. Well, here's a perfect example.
Thursday, March 25, 2010
I want to say first of all, that nothing I have to say here is in any way intended to be a defense of Benjamin Netanyahu, who I have always believed to be an American-style right wing warmongering demagogue more like Newt Gingrich or Tom DeLay than anyone Israelis are used to seeing.
To explain my viewpoint, I would like to refer to a couple of maps of Jerusalem. You may need to click on them to see them properly, as they have a lot of detail.
The first map I would like you to see is this one, from the early 1880's The colored parts represent the old city, lying behind walls which had enclosed relatively the same area since the first century A.D. As you can see, as late as this time, only a hundred and thirty years ago, there was almost nothing of Jerusalem outside the old city and adjacent areas such as the Mount of Olives, across from the temple mount. Thus, very little of what exists outside of this area really can be considered as part of the holy Jerusalem revered by all three major monotheistic religions.
Next, let's turn to a current map of Jerusalem:
The tan area on this map represents the boundaries of the current built-up area of Jerusalem. The dark blue area is the old city. The current dividing line between East and West Jerusalem runs in an approximate north-south line through the old city.
Here is the funny thing about Jerusalem: It is one of the oldest cities in the world, yet except for a small part of it, it is more contemporary with American cities than the great cities of Europe or Asia. No one can really claim that his ancestors have long lived in the greatest part of Jerusalem.
Now, let's look at this third map:
Israeli "settlements" are shown in this map in the darker blue color. Also shown is the Israeli constructed ring road, designed to eliminate some of the absolutely maddening driving conditions that exist in the city. I can tell you that, even with the ring road, driving for more than a few minutes in Jerusalem is enough to drive a person into deep insanity.
Well, as you can see from this map, most of these developments are inside the ring road, or just outside of it. Remember that Jerusalem is built on top of rather steep hills, and most of the land shown as undeveloped inside the ring road is nearly unbuildable.
Now let's look at a couple of pictures of one of the largest of these developments, Maale Adumim. First is a view of it:
I wonder if your reaction to this is the same as mine was when I saw things like this in real life- this is hardly what I expected in the way of what you would call a "settlement."
Now, here is another picture:
This is a view looking back toward Jerusalem from Maale Adumim. What you see in the foreground is what is generally described as an Arab "village." In the background is Mount Scopus.
What point am I trying to make here? Words are powerful things. The word "village" implies that this area is somewhere that people have lived for a long, long time, and have deep family roots, while the word "settlement" carries heavy implications from the time of colonialism, and conveys the notion that someone has come along and just plopped themselves down on someone else's territory.
We actually have a far more appropriate name for such areas here in America. These both are neither settlements nor villages- they are suburbs.
I want to state that I am opposed to a great majority of the Jewish settlements in the West Bank (and yes, I have been to a number of them too.) But these areas around Jerusalem are not in the same category at all, and treating them as hostile incursions only serves to prolong the stubbornness of parties on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We should deal with the settlements that really are a part of an intransigent, irredentist religious movement, and not treat the natural growth of a modern city as some sort of abomination.

Anger- You filthy Muslim commie bastard, we're coming for you and we've got guns! Or at least bricks to throw through your window. Well, at least a really angry e-mail.
Bargaining- Please God, you strike them dead, so I don't have to leave my computer room. That way, I can sit here and really tell them what patriotism is all about.
Depression- Oh no, Democratic Fascists have destroyed our wonderful country. It's all over now. Just like they did before when they passed social security and medicare and most of all when they did away with slavery.
Acceptance- Hey, I kind of like not having to worry about what will happen if I get sick. I'm sure glad the Republicans fought so hard to pass this bill.
Also, Republican Senators, in a fit of pique, have used some sort of arcane rule to shut down all committee hearings and other business being conducted by the Senate today. Good work, guys. That's mature of you.
Now, hereere's a sample of the great "movement" that is sweeping the country courtesy of Thom Hartmann, who broadcast the audio of it this morning. The drooling right-wing pig who made this video disabled embedding, so I can't put the video up, but I urge you to click here and take a look at it:
Well, I guess we can take some comfort in the fact that their Kristallnacht so far seems to consist of a few bricks through windows, a cut propane line, calling people names, and a bunch of macho posturing; let us all hope that the rest of these loons are as incapable of doing anything beyond malicious mischief as this sad example of humanity.
And don't even think of telling me that these people don't know what smashing windows is intended to remind us of:
These people will likely prove pathetically impotent; nevertheless, this is what they are trying to bring about. It's not a violation of Godwin's law when they really are Nazis.
"Hamas leaders want peace and they want to have reconciliation not only with their Fatah brothers but also eventually with Israelis to live side by side, with two nations, both sovereign nations recognized by each other and living in peace"
Here are a few excerpts from the Hamas charter:
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."
"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "
"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
"After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying."
"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews."
Now there is a statement from a group that wants peace with Israel, yes sir. If, for some reason, you are so into self-punishment that you want to read the rest, here it is.
What in God's name is this guy doing even associating in public with these evil fanatics, let alone deliberately distorting their intentions?
I know that people have reacted very negatively when, after following them for several decades, I say that there is no such thing as an evangelical Christian who is not an antisemite. Well, can you think of one who is less likely to harbor hatred of Jews in his heart than Jimmy Carter? And yet here he is, doing his best to whitewash the intentions of an organization dedicated to the elimination not just of the state of Israel, but of Jews everywhere.
Can you convince yourself that Carter never read Hamas' founding document before throwing his weight behind their cause? Do you think that he can possibly be so ignorant as to believe that the people who produced this document "want peace?"
What the hell is wrong with this guy, that has turned him toward such malignancy?
Kevin Glass, Town Hall: "Vulnerable Dems Now on Shakier Ground...Many liberal pundits have claimed that this health care vote won't matter come September. They'll be shocked to find out that the American people have a longer memory than they were hoping for."
You're dead right, Kevin- the American people are going to have a long memory about this. Just like they do for Medicare, Social Security and the minimum wage. Don't come crying to us when you finally figure out what that means for you.
Dan Perrin, Red State: "Late Saturday night I began to get “a bad feeling” about Stupak."
I.e. a bad feeling that Stupak was going to do the right thing? Boy, that must have been tough. A Republican never likes to see that.
Pam "Shreiking Harpy" Geller, Atlas Shrugs: "America’s Day of Wreckoning — the Socialist Putsch Comes to Washington"
Boy, that's a new one on me- a putsch being enacted by majority vote of the legislature. I didn't know you could do that. Republicans have so much to teach us about government.
Power Line (before the vote:) "The Hill Says Dems Are Short"
Yeah. As W. C. Fields once said, "Short...Don't be proud. I'm only five feet eight myself."
Chuck Norris, Renew America: "I have so few words to express the depth of my disgust with the unconstitutional path and passing of Obamacare and the corruption in Congress."
A shame it wasn't fewer words, Chuck. Like none, you jackass.
Barbara Simpson, World Net Daily: "If he wins, we lose"
You got that one right, Barbara. And you know what? He won. You lose. Too bad.
Dana Loesch, Big Government: "The Socialists Won A Battle; Now It is Our Turn"
To do what? Keep on digging your hole deeper by acting like psychopaths? That's my guess. That's what I think it's your turn to do. And you're so good at it-why change now?
Phyllis Schlafly, Town Hall: "The American people have figured out that the issue is not health care, it's freedom."
That's what you'd like them to "figure out," Phyllis. Unfortunately for you, it is about health care.
Gateway Pundit: "Sarah Palin: Health Care Debate Is Between Socialism and Those Who Love America"
What an asshole, huh? Go away, already, Sarah, you lying jerk.
Armand C. Hale. Renew America: "With the passage of the Health Care Bill, our trek into socialism is complete as the triads of socialist passions are happy with themselves...Democracy dies, now the rebellion begins in earnest."
The rebellion. What have you been smoking, guy? I hear someone threw a few bricks through some Democratic Party offices. Is that your rebellion? Didn't amount to much.
David Limbaugh: "Yes, it is socialized medicine"
No it's not.
Astute Bloggers: "HOW WILL THE PROGRESSIVES AND THE IRS GET THE MANDATED INSURANCE MONEY FROM US? FROM OUR COLD DEAD HANDS!"
Fine by me. if that's really what you want.
Dan Riehl, Riehl World View: "I don't really care how the media covers for them, or how much they might try and deny it, they are the National Socialist Democratic Party now. Make no mistake. That's why they need to be destroyed."
The National Socialist Democratic Party. Have a familiar ring to it? Hitler's ghost, on the march again, with a new atrocity- coverage for pre-existing conditions! Boy, I can hardly wait to see the Nuremburg trial over that one.
Joe Hicks, Pajamas Media: "From CNN anchors to Ivy League professors to TV talk show hosts, the MSM puts out the welcome mat for liberals nursing a race fetish."
Joe, just cast your eyes on the next item in Wingnut Wrapup today:
Socrates, Vanguard News Service: "Why’s Black Peepo Be Ugly? Mebbe it be de big lips. Mebbe it be de big noses. Mebbe it be de huge asses."
No, they aren't racists. How dare we suggest such a thing! WE are the racists for even thinking that THEY are the racists.
Representative John "Babykiller" Neugebauer: "Why should I be kept quiet by Nancy Pelosi?"
John, let me put it this way: What should have kept you quiet was your conscience. Oops- I forgot. You're a Republican. You don't have one.
Jonah Goldberg, Town Hall: "The Reality of Obamacare"
Jonah Goldberg and reality in the same line? Don't make me laugh.
Erick Erickson, Red State: "Why It Must Be “Repeal And Start Over”
Because otherwise we are going to throw a GREAT BIG TANTRUM! And we're NOT GOING TO STOP until we get our way!
Astute Bloggers: "OIL WITHOUT END: PLATE TECTONICS AND FOSSIL FUEL THEORIES DEBUNKED"
Dear Astute Bloggers: I wouldn't worry about denying plate tectonics in order to maintain your delusions. After all, plate tectonics was proven totally false a few years ago when people discovered that the world was only 6,000 years old.
And now, the worst outrage of the day:
World Net Daily: "Why would Christians celebrate that? Bible teacher explains pagan origin of eggs, bunnies at Easter"
Oh God, the war on Christmas wasn't enough. Now the hostilities have spread to Easter. What's next, the military incursion against St. Swithin's day?
"...now comes Orly Taitz, who in a new federal court filing argues that the bill violates her "right" to practice dentistry...The challenge comes in the form of an amended complaint in a Birther case in district court in Washington, Taitz v. Obama, that challenges the president's citizenship."
Green Eagle thanks you, Orly. While your fellow wingnut lunatics have stumbled recently in their effort to keep us all amused, we know we can always count on you.

It didn't. It has been the same lies and venom as always, with a touch of desperation and despair thrown into the mix. Everybody on that side of the fence wants to get in on the picnic, and not one of them has an interesting, or even amusing, thing to say.
I decided to not bother you with it- you've heard it all so many times before.
I guess people just don't really care that much about their belligerent posturing over the health care bill. Who could have ever thought that Americans would actually not rise up in fury, demanding vengeance because the Democrats gave them health insurance protection?

I can't figure out an easy way to ban this jackass, or I would. If anyone knows how to do it (something a basically internet-ignorant person like me could handle) please let me know. Thanks.
"The discoveries of healing science must be the inheritance of all. That is clear. Disease must be attacked, whether it occurs in the poorest or the richest man or woman simply on the ground that it is the enemy; and it must be attacked just in the same way as the fire brigade will give its full assistance to the humblest cottage as readily as to the most important mansion. Our policy is to create a national health service in order to ensure that everybody in the country, irrespective of means, age, sex, or occupation, shall have equal opportunities to benefit from the best and most up-to-date medical and allied services available."
Trotsky? Hitler? Mao Tse Tung?
Here's a hint for you: I have been listening to Hugh Hewitt for the last few minutes, as he is begging, begging his listeners to send money to the RNC. He broke to a commercial, and as the run-in to his current segment, he played the Winston Churchill speech about fighting them on the beaches, etc.
Yes, that comment is from that great conservative, Winston Churchill, speaking above. The same Winston Churchill whose government actively prepared the ground for the British National Health Service.
Boy, conservatism ain't what it used to be.
"WASHINGTON – Sen. John McCain says Democrats who championed the historic that passed the House haven't heard the last of the issue, predicting reprisals at the polls and in the courts.
Interviewed Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America," McCain repeated House Republican assertions that the transformative legislation amounts to a "government takeover" of health care."
Excuse me for being so blunt, but who gives a flying fuck what John McCain has to say about anything? Isn't it time that we see the last of this malicious, power hungry liar?
But Wait! There's More! McCain speaks again:
"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," McCain said during an interview Monday on an Arizona radio affiliate. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."
There has been no cooperation since the Dems took back Congress in 2006. And now, carrying out their number one campaign promise, which people elected them to do, is poisoning the well. Get the hell out of our lives, you lying corrupt scum.

And now, Green Eagle's comment on the Democrats' victory over the dignified, mature, fact-based campaign of the Republican party, aimed at protecting insurance company profits:
Yes, Republicans, you could have gotten a much better deal for your greedy businessmen last December, if you hadn't been such a bunch of lying, obstructionist pigs. As Thomas Friedman once observed, "suck on this one."
The Democratic party proved something tonight which is overwhelmingly important: Yes, we can defeat the greedy rich if we stick together. Now it's time for lots more victories like this.
And yes, Green Eagle had lots of fun making this graphic.
Update: Oh God. The bill hasn't been passed for five minutes, and the Republicans are up there screaming out their nauseating garbage about abortion. These people have not a shred of respect for our national institutions, and care about nothing but getting their own way. There are really no words in our language to express the depravity of this party.
Carol Platt Liebau, Town Hall: "Ultimately, the question for the Stupak block is this: Are you really pro-life, or not? Let's pray these congressmen remain firm in their resolve to stand up for the unborn babies."
Stand up for the unborn babies. By denying health care to millions of living people. Real pro life there, you monster.
Austin Hill, Town Hall: "Is President Obama At War With America? If a frontal assault on the foundational principals and values of American life can qualify as being “at war” - then yes, Barack Obama is in combat with our country."
Luckily for us, the notion that Obama is in "a frontal assault on the foundational principals and values of American life" is a psychotic delusion. I.e. Republican party line.
Joseph C. Phillios, Town Hall: "There will be blood...If there is to be a second revolution then let it begin here and now! ...No one will be safe. Neither a “D” nor an “R” following a name will be sufficient protection from the people’s blade! There is no time like now to begin the winnowing process; and there is no better reason than to dismantle a government that can’t be trusted to keep its part of the bargain."
The people's blade. Ooh, I'm really scared now. What, you are going to get out of your mother's basement, and go around shooting people? Face it, the only thing that gets you away from your keyboard is when you run out of Cheetos. And you spent all your gun money on them, so you're just out of luck, sucker.
Dan Perrin, Red State: "ObamaCare will Kill Millions of Babies"
It will save millions of real people, but as we know, Republicans only care about you until you're born. After that, you're on your own, buddy.
Confederate Yankee: "Ready to Riot?
Fat chance, macho man. Here's Mr. Yankee's evidence:
"The gun store downtown was doing what I suspect was unusually brisk business for an early Saturday morning outside of hunting season. This same gun store's parking lot was overflowing mid-afternoon yesterday shortly after 3:30 PM, with traffic filling the lot, the nearby on-street parking filled, and overflow parking spilling into the gravel lot next door. I've also seen a minivan with a warning/threat against Obamacare written in red paint on the windows
... there seems to be a distinct undercurrent of frustration and rage building against the federal government in general, the tricks of Democratic Party in specific, and tomorrow's Obamacare may be the catalyst. I don't sense any organization, but strong sentiment appears to be brewing."
Yeah, and they are all about to head out into the street and start shooting. Well, you know what? Give it a try, already, you pathetic, deluded jerks, and see where it gets you.
Michael Gaynor, Renew America: "Though bankrupt, ACORN is succeeding in its subversive mission"
Its subversive mission being to register people to vote. People who can't be counted on to vote Republican. What a bunch of criminals. Let's all dress up in pimp costumes and make movies about them.
Sher Zieve, Renew America: "Obama has now joined the likes of all other despots who have ever walked and practiced their tyrannies upon planet Earth. Tyrants like Saddam Hussein, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong-il and Fidel Castro are now unequivocally united with the US Usurper and Dictator-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama in their complete and total subjugation of their countries peoples."
Yeah, Sher, you have a real point there. Why I remember when Obama gassed several million people, murdered his opposition, slaughtered his own people en masse, stole billions of the country's wealth for his own personal use, made other political parties illegal, and started wars of aggression against innocent countries. Sure, I see the similarity.
Jack Cashill, American Thinker: "Is BHO the New FDR? The parallels between FDR and BHO are hard to miss"
This one really made me laugh. Like, being the new FDR would be a bad thing. Boy do these people live on another planet.
James Lambert, Renew America: "Media still not reporting corruption and use of our tax dollars to win healthcare votes"
James, just maybe that's because it didn't happen, no matter how much you guys scream that it did. Think about it. Maybe some day you'll figure it out.
Bryan Fischer, Renew America: "March 21, 2010 will go down in history as a day that will live in infamy. It is a rare thing when a nation can point to one specific moment in time in which its tragic destiny was sealed. That moment came today at 4:07 Eastern time. For at 4:07 p.m. on March 21, 2010, Bart Stupak announced that his pro-life convictions had collapsed like a cheap tent in a slight breeze. As a result, the America we knew and loved is gone, gone, gone."
Bart Stupak, you destroyed our country. Voting for health care reform is just the same as attacking the United States with bombers and killing several thousand military personnel. And it's all your fault.
Warner Todd Huston, Renew America: "Lord of the Rings updated for 2010, the Dark Lord ACORN lives"
Oh my God, now ACORN is Sauron. Is nothing sacred? Or, to ask a more pertinent question, is no depth of stupidity too great for conservatives?
The Forgotten Street: "As President Barrack Hussein Obama continues to press his radical socialist agenda on an America that wants no part of it, the question raises: Is Obama the new Salvador Allende? Salvador Allende was a Communist piece of human trash who secured power in Chile and proceeded to destroy a functioning democracy...So America must learn from history and realize that Barack Hussein Obama has placed us on the same unsustainable path that Allende did in Chile."
Which is what. exactly? In case you have forgotten, Allende was an elected moderate left leader, who was ousted by a vicious military dictatorship which put Chile through hell for decades. So is that what these guys are promising us? If Obama dares to do what he was elected to do, they will support a military dictatorship as an alternative?
You know what? After endless time spent reading these people's crap, I believe that this is exactly what they mean. Luckily for us, these jackasses are too stupid and juvenile to have much chance of pulling it off.
Confederate Yankee: "Reconciliation Off the Table if Senate Bill Fails to Pass? Seems to good to be true"
That's because it is too good to be true. Come on, guys- you conducted your usual hoggish campaign of lies and fearmongering, and this time (thank the Lord) you lost. Deal with it. You only make yourselves look like a bunch of five year old brats.
How can it be, in this country, that, once again, the Republican party has been able to reduce a debate on one of the most important issues facing this country, to one more endless malicious yammering about abortion, their most pervasive, pernicious form of pandering to their ignorant, intolerant base?
Is there nothing on earth important enough to interrupt their attempt to twist the government to their own ends?
This sick issue has nothing, nothing, NOTHING to do with the matter before the congress. Let's have enough of this pandering to the worst among us, and do what the American people need to have done.
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Here is how these people choose to run their community:
"More than a third of the streetlights in Colorado Springs will go dark Monday. The police helicopters are for sale on the Internet. The city is dumping firefighting jobs, a vice team, burglary investigators, beat cops — dozens of police and fire positions will go unfilled.
The parks department removed trash cans last week, replacing them with signs urging users to pack out their own litter.
Neighbors are encouraged to bring their own lawn mowers to local green spaces, because parks workers will mow them only once every two weeks. If that.
Water cutbacks mean most parks will be dead, brown turf by July; the flower and fertilizer budget is zero.
City recreation centers, indoor and outdoor pools, and a handful of museums will close for good March 31 unless they find private funding to stay open. Buses no longer run on evenings and weekends. The city won't pay for any street paving, relying instead on a regional authority that can meet only about 10 percent of the need.
"I guess we're going to find out what the tolerance level is for people," said businessman Chuck Fowler, who is helping lead a private task force brainstorming for city budget fixes. "It's a new day."A new day brought to you by the naked greed that is today's conservatism. Let them back in power, and soon our whole country will be like this.
"They're losing their thin veneer of civilization...
I have it good authority that there's a lot of this coming over the phone lines..."nigger" being the preferred epithet. At the end of the day, plain old bigotry and racism is what this frothing frenzy against health care is all about. And in their frustration at not getting their way, their white supremacist slips are showing:
This is not a spontaneous uprising of disaffected citizens who are angry about bailouts. This is the base of the modern Republican party, same as it ever was."
As usual, when Digby speaks, you don't need to add a thing.
"At the How To Take Back America Conference... conservative speaker Kitty Werthmann led a workshop called “How to recognize living under Nazis & Communists.”...
Werthmann explained how universal healthcare, an Equal Rights Amendment, and increased taxes were telltale signs of Nazism. Werthmann also warned the audience:
"If we had our guns, we would have fought a bloody battle. So, keep your guns, and buy more guns, and buy ammunition. [...] Take back America. Don’t let them take the country into Socialism. And I refer again, Hitler’s party was National Socialism. [...] And that’s what we are having here right now, which is bordering on Marxism. "
Get ready, folks. I am becoming increasingly convinced that we are not getting out of this mess without something really ugly happening.
This is a sign from today's teabag rally in Washington.
As is my practice, I want to look at this act in light of my belief that everything the Republican party does has a single purpose: to benefit the rich at the expense of the rest of us. That is why, obviously, tax cuts for the rich have always been the Republicans' answer to every economic problem facing the country, despite the crucial role they payed in precipitating the 1929 stock market crash. Let me note that the alternative in this case is to assume that George W, Bush and Dick Cheney actually cared about poor children, an idea so ludicrous that I think we are safe in rejecting it out of hand.
But now to "No Child Left Behind." The essence of this bill is that funding will be taken away from more poorly performing schools and given to better performing ones.
Behind this seemingly unobjectionable notion lies an ugly reality, which no one on either side of this fight cares to admit. Richer parents are by and large better educated, and can provided their children with far more in the way of books, experiences, and extra academic aid when necessary. They are able to help their children do well in many ways that are not available to the less well off. For this reason, schools with higher income student bodies are almost inevitably going to perform better on standardized tests that schools with poorer student bodies.
Given this reality, the "No Child Left Beyond" act is absolutely nothing but a cynical, malicious excuse to take money from the poor to give to the rich.
In this it is like school vouchers. School vouchers, as proposed by Republicans, usually involve taking money away from public schools to give, typically, $4000 per student for those at private schools. With decent private schools costing from ten to twenty thousand dollars a year, does anyone think that this $4000 stolen from the public schools is really going to enable poor children to go to decent private schools? Of course not, but the $4000 per kid stolen from the poor is a nice gift to the well off.
As far as I can see, you can't go wrong assuming that anything Republicans want is a ploy to steal from the poor to give to the rich, and the "No Child Left Behind" act is no exception.
Friday, March 19, 2010
And exactly what plans did these "Christians" have for the kids they kidnapped? On second thought, I think I'd rather not know.
And now this: "Dutch officials have reacted with anger and bemusement to the claim by a retired American general that their nation’s soldiers failed to prevent the Srebrenica massacre in 1995 in part because the presence of gay troops in the Dutch military had depleted the force’s morale."
Mm hmm. That sounds like sound military reasoning to me. I suspect that Hitler had a similar view of things on, say, April 27th, 1945.
And in religious news: "The German archdiocese led by the future Pope Benedict XVI ignored repeated warnings in the early 1980s by a psychiatrist treating a priest accused of sexually abusing boys that he should not be allowed to work with children, the psychiatrist said Thursday."
Oy. Those religious guys just can't keep their hands off the kids.
And now, closer to home: "Representative Paul Broun, Republican of Georgia: "If ObamaCare passes, that free insurance card that's in people's pockets is gonna be as worthless as a Confederate dollar after the War Between The States -- the Great War of Yankee Aggression."
The Great War of Yankee Aggression. I think I missed that one. Do you think he could be talking about Iraq?
And how about this one for a new high in lying: "Fox News, Drudge, Malkin Accused Obama of Making Up 2006 Hawaiian Earthquake"
Didn't try too hard to do your research on that one, huh, guys?
And of course, what would the health care fight be without one more Republican smear job? "A controversial health care memo allegedly circulated by Democrats that Dems say is a “hoax” was pushed to some reporters by the GOP leadership before its authenticity was verified or disproven, an email chain sent my way shows. But it’s unclear as of yet what the source of the memo is or that it’s definitely a hoax. The memo, first reported by Politico and Big Government and pushed hard by Drudge, allegedly shows the Dem leadership telling rank and file Dems to stay hush-hush about a scheme for a “doc fix” later this year that, in essence, would make the bill’s deficit-reduction meaningless. After Dems alleged to TPM that the memo is fake, Politico pulled down the story. A GOP aide pointed out that the memo “has circulated widely in the lobbying community” and “no one has proven that it is a fake.”
No one has proven that this one was fake either:
So there, jerks.
In the process of doing this, however, I came across a single article, by Joseph Farah, at World Net Daily, which I think so completely expresses the conservative attitude towards health care and everything else, that I thought I should quote from it at some length, so you can see, right out in the open, what lies behind American conservatism today. Despite everything you have heard the last year, I think you should be prepared to be shocked:
"Obama's desperate demagoguery
Barack Obama says he's trying to push his government health-care bill through Congress because of people like Ohio resident Natoma Canfield.
She's a victim of breast cancer whose insurance premiums soared as a result of her condition. She decided not to renew her policy because it might mean losing her home.
Using this woman's plight as an example of why the government should take over health care in America, Obama's White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, explained: "The president believes, and I think members of Congress believe, that in a country as strong as the United States of America you shouldn't have to decide between keeping your house or keeping your health care."
Of course, her insurance company didn't present that choice to Natoma Canfield. They just gave her a price tag of $6,000 a year for health insurance. She was free to pay it or not pay it. She chose not to pay it.
If you want the service, you have to sell off your assets. Period. End of story.
...do we really believe no one should ever be forced to decide whether to keep your house or keep your health-care insurance? "
Well, yes, actually, you human monster, those of us with a shred of decency do really believe that. Apparently you cannot even conceive of people who would be that stupid and soft. But thanks for finally stating your position so plainly.
Lets continue with this sickening perversion:
"...why do people still believe in government "compassion" and "benevolence"?
This is sheer demagoguery by Obama and his mouthpieces."
Sheer demagoguery. This conservative Republican cannot even begin to imagine that politicians might actually act out of compassion or benevolence. It is absolutely inconceivable to him that Obama could mean what he says, or care about anyone but himself, so Farah writes it all off as malicious lies. This is a man with zero empathy for other people, who is shamelessly uninterested in the welfare of anyone but himself.
This is, as I have always said, the reality of conservatism.
"This lady does own a home, one that has been in her family for 50 years...Why should the responsibility for her care be spread involuntarily to people who don't know her...
sob stories are bound to persuade some Americans...That's what Obama is counting on. "
I am sorry, but I am really unable to come up with words sufficient to express the grotesque moral depths that the Republican party and its followers have sunk. Thankfully, I guess Mr. Farah has done it for me.
I want to tell you what I believe. Do you know the difference between a liberal and a conservative? Long ago, in the early part of the Bible, a man asks God a question: "Am I my brother's keeper?" If you answer yes to that question, you are a liberal. If you answer no, you are a conservative. That's it.
Over the years, I have stated my belief that conservatism is about one thing, and one thing only: greed. All of the religion and the rest of it is nothing but a cover, to convince not us, but conservatives themselves, that, despite their orgy of avarice they still hold the moral high ground. American conservatism is not a political ideology in any way, but is rather a form of moral degeneracy, through which people convince themselves that the welfare of other people is of no concern to themselves. And these people call themselves followers of Christ. People have accused me of being too simplistic or extreme in that view. Well, here it is, laid out in the most stark, Dickensian terms imaginable.
