Pakistan- Still
From McClatchy, one of the few mainstream sources bothering to follow this story:
"Pakistani authorities advised the people of Swat valley, in the north west, to evacuate the district's main town Mingora Tuesday, as Taliban extremists took effective control of the place.
Up to now, Pakistan had pretended that a controversial peace accord with Taliban in Swat was still holding. But the evacuation indicated that the situation was no longer manageable and that an army offensive against the militants could begin within hours."
Just to keep you up to date. Let's not forget that these wackos are only a couple of hundred miles from a dozen nuclear weapons, and anyone following this story knows damned well that half of the Pakistani military is on their side.
This thing could get so ugly. Thank heaven that George W. Bush, with his combination of stupidity and cravenness toward Arab oil interests is no longer in charge of our response.
Update: More from McClatchy:
"WASHINGTON — Pakistan is expanding its nuclear weapons program even as Islamic extremists in northwest Pakistan advance in the direction of several highly sensitive nuclear-related sites, U.S. officials and other experts said this week.
Have a nice day.

"In the current climate, with Pakistan's leadership under duress from daily acts of violence by insurgent Taliban forces and organized political opposition, the security of any nuclear material produced in these reactors is in question," said an April 23 report by the Institute for Science and International Security.
Some of the officials and experts are more worried that Islamic radicals or sympathizers inside Pakistan's military might get their hands on radioactive material..."Have a nice day.
